He showed up late, brought an attitude, and treated us with nothing but rudeness from the moment he arrived. He was condescending, dismissive, and downright unpleasant throughout the entire ceiling fan installation--something that should have been straightforward. This was not just bad service; it was appalling. His behavior toward my family was completely unacceptable. If this is the kind of person Cancan Electric chooses to represent them, then they clearly have no standards. They were quick at setting an appointment, flexible and friendly when I needed to move the appointment, on-time when the appointment window came, quick in diagnosing what was wrong, and quick in fixing it. Extremely unprofessional and rude. The server came through the insurance. He's stating it's some cable that the insurance won't cover. I called them 3x to get a quote to have them fix. When he finally show up, he left with out even saying "have a good day". I haad to call to ask what happened. He said it was going to be "expensive" n would call me the next day with a quote. STAY AWAY - called my warranty repair company and they sent this company out. The guy who came out told my tenant that the house was about to burn down. I called him and asked for more detail and he hung up on me (4 times in a row) and yelled about how he was going to report my and my home to the state for code violations (an odd threat since I was literally asking him to fix anything that was wrong with my house). They said they would be out 12 to 4pm didn't arrive until almost 6pm. They didn't give us any information about the electric repair just that the warranty wouldn't cover it. Absolutely do not recommend! I called these people Tuesday as my landlord recommended them. They said they could be out the next day and would show up between 8am and noon. I let my husband know the service window time. He took off the time from work to do so. I just got off work now (12 hour hospital shifts) and he lets me know that no one came. I just called the business at 9:30pm to leave a message that no one came. A man (presumably the owner of the company) answered. I let him know what happened and his reply was , "well I don't know why that happened." Then he has me on a very long pause like he's shifting through papers and then proceeds to tell me he does not have the papers with him. Then he proceeds to get nasty and tell me that my husband should have called them when they were a no call, no show and it was our fault. Not an apology, or hey we can come by tomorrow, we can make this right. We messed up, nothing. I understand things happen but you're not going to shift blame and put it on the customer that you were not reliable. Fact is, I work long shifts and just came home and he didn't have the info. I then told him it's not professional to blame a customer for your error. He then tells me to call someone else and hung up. Very rude, not professional. I asked my home warranty to make an appointment due to lights being out in two rooms in the house and it wasn't the breakers. Can Can Electric called me the same day to make an appointment, and quickly mentioned a couple of things I could try to fix the problem easily. I followed the lady's instructions and it fixed the problem! [The GFI had to be reset and for these two specific rooms it was in the garage instead of in the actual rooms which I would have never guessed]. That took 3 minutes and I was very surprised that they walked me through it [for free] instead of making easy money by scheduling the appointment anyway. Great friendly company! read more

Unprofessional. Cannot show up on time. Kitchen light was going out. Landlord contacted this place to come fix/replace it. Appointment was between 8am-12pm. By 12pm, I've received no word, so I called and was told they were running late. They showed up after 1pm. At that time, the tech recommended the entire fixture be replaced as it was old. Made an appointment to replace it. Late for 2nd appointment. Same thing, between 8-12, and never called to confirm, and arrived late. At the time of arrival, the tech seemed to forget his first visit there, and recommended (Again) the fixture be replaced, and he did not have the fixture with him (????). Made an appointment AGAIN to have the fixture replaced. Come the next appointment day, I again received no word, no confirmation, and this time, they just didn't show up at all. The next day I called to see what was going on, and whoever I talked to said basically to call someone else. This is probably the most unprofessional group of contractors I've EVER dealt with, ever. My home warranty sent out Charlie from Can Can after I called them about my outlet being loose. It started to come out of the wall more and more everytime I would unplug my toaster. Charlie gave me this whole story about the hole in the wall being too big for the outlet and said he may be able to rig it but it wouldn't be up to code so he can't do it through the warranty. He said I may need to get my backsplash ripped out and have the hole made smaller. He said he could come back out if I paid Can Can directly and that he could try and fix it but I would owe him $125 whether it worked or not. I called to set up an appointment with him and he didn't even have the decency to call me back and setup a time like he said he would. I ended up going through someone else and the problem was fixed in 20 min. All I needed was a new fuse box which is something a basic electrician should be able to do. I'm call my home warranty to complain tomorrow and hopefully get my money back. I will never use Can Can again. See the after picture for yourself. read more

I called to find out what the problem was and they said the guy had called in sick and couldn't make it and they had forgot to call us to let us know. I asked if there was anything they would do to make up for my time and they said they could not do anything at all whatsoever and that I could either use them again and try again or find somebody else. Charles called on Wednesday morning and scheduled an appointment for Thursday morning with a 4-hour window from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Long story short, Charles was a no-show for the appointment and never called to advise me he wasn't coming. When I called to advise the home warranty company that Can Can Electrical was a no-show, the representative from the home warranty company called Charles who advised he had not scheduled an appointment with me yet. Mistakes are understandable and forgivable but lying about them is inexcusable. I cannot recommend this company at all. It's unfortunate there isn't an option for zero stars. read more

They were scheduled to replace a ceiling fan through our home-warranty company. They scheduled several four-hour time windows to replace the fan and never showed up, only leaving voice messages at the last minute. Then, when my wife asked them to commit to coming at a specific time, the owner called her a "b----"! CHARLIE. IS. AWESOME. !!!!!!! An investor friend of mine recently bought a vintage 1943 house, which I am in the process of moving into as a tenant. In exchange for reduced rent, I am also helping him with some of the repair work... starting with the electrical system. During the course of the home inspection, the inspector pointed out that the electrical system wasn't grounded (it had the old-fashioned 2-prong outlets as opposed to the new, safer 3-prong outlets). He recommended I get at least some of them re-wired, so I could at least plug in my major appliances without fear of shorting a circuit. He also recommended I dress in a slutty schoolgirl outfit when getting bids from contractors...so as to get the best possible price (for reals...he knew a woman who used this tactic successfully). Well, I've been stressed lately, and the last fuckin' thing I felt like doing was donning a slutty costume...so I called up Charlie, wearing nothing but some dirty old sweatpants and a snot-stained hoodie. And he STILL gave me a great deal! What we thought was going to be a 2-day project turned out to be a huge fucking mess -- the house had been purchased at the foreclosure auction, "fixed up," and then flipped by one Jared Weiss...who hired a team of half-assers to come in and basically just slap a new layer of drywall over everything. It looked OK at first glance, but once Charlie and his journeyman assistant, Junior, started looking at it -- it turned out that whoever did the electrical work for Jared Weiss fucked it up royally. There was a MULTITUDE of illegal code violations -- frayed wires, loose wires hanging in the attic, extensions cords in the attic running to nowhere, a jerry-rigged water heater and much, much more. A total fire hazard!! Essentially, Charlie and Junior ended up having to re-wire the entire house. It took him 11 days, when he had only expected to spend two -- but he was cheerful the whole time, and still gave me a GREAT price. What I like best about Charlie is his down-to-Earth, everyman demeanor. At first he was hesitant to use swear words around me -- the first few times he let one slip, he apologized for using such language in front of a "lady." HAH!!!!!!! I let him know it was of no fuckin' concern to me what kind of language he used -- but I still thought his embarrassment charmingly quaint. All in all, I got a really good vibe from him, personally AND professionally. He was exceedingly thorough in his work, and always erred on the side of safety. I feel about a thousand times safer now, knowing I don't have to worry about frying my pubes every time I step out of the shower and turn on the blow dryer. Seriously, I can't recommend him enough. The only bummer is that he's always super busy (he's been doing this long enough to where he has about a billion accounts in town, so he's never hurting for work.) But even so...they have a 24-hour on-call emergency service...because they CARE! Nearly seven grand later, I'm hoping not to need him anytime soon...but if I do, I will not hesitate to call him again. read more

I cannot say how much Charlie @ Can Can saved us! We had electrical issues in our house since day 3 of living in it. After some appliances started smoking one day and set off smoke detectors (which also fried and then turned off) we called our home warranty company to get someone out ASAP. They sent out a TERRIBLE company-- Ideal Services--but a day later, after that company (not can can) said everything was fine and blamed the problem on NV Energy, the same crap happened again-- lights dimming and brightening, smoking appliances, etc! We called back our home warranty and requested a NEW electrical company-- someone who was more trustworthy. Charlie showed up at 7pm on a Friday and found the problem within 10 minutes-- we had a FLOATING NEUTRAL on our panel. (exactly what my boyfriend was saying it was FROM THE BEGINNING, but the NV energy guy and the other electrician said no way-- that is too rare). As Charlie explained to us, a floating neutral is one of the most dangerous things ever you can have happen at your house. Basically it arcs and sends up to 240v of electrical to anything plugged in-- causing smoking and fires. Basically anything you have not plugged into a surge protector gets toasted. He deemed our house unsafe until we could get a new panel installed. He went back to his shop and by some sort of miracle found a panel in his shop! He called us around 9pm to tell us he would be over the next day (Saturday morning) to get the install completed. He showed up around noon and we had non-arcing and safe electricity before 2pm! He then went around the whole house and checked each circuit to be sure there was a neutral connection. We ended up with thousands of dollars of damage from the multiple surges that moved through the house. But we now are safe and not so scared to be living in our house-- all thanks to Charlie! Our home warranty sent Can Can Electric to look into our electrical concerns. They said they would call before coming, they didn't. Our nanny was home and asked them to please use shoe covers. They didn't have any and called me to say they would come by later in the day. No call, no show. I then get a call the next day and we agreed for them to come back out. A couple days later they call and say they will be to our home by 11:30. Then they call later and say they don't have shoe covers and won't be able to make it. I then get a call from our home warranty and Can Can Electric basically bad mouthed us and stayed that the first day there wasn't anyone over 18 at the home. That was a lie. Then they also said they called and couldn't reach us. That was a lie. Then they told the truth and said they didn't have any shoe covers. I'm appalled that a company would lie about us and try to make us look bad when they flaked several times. I've never dealt with such unprofessionalism when trying to hire a company to complete work for us. I wouldn't trust them with our electrical problems ever. My home warranty company set up this appointment. My a/c breaker was clicking off in a sporadic pattern. Charlie showed up and checked out my breaker box..spending time assessing the work load for the a/c breaker. He checked the wiring coming into the box and explained all as he went along.
