Within 2 years it started to fail, chipping off, warping. They came out and advised us that it was water however it was in areas that are nowhere near water. Their fix was to give my husband trim which we had to purchase and my husband installed it around the bottom of the cabinets. I would advise not resurfacing your existing cabinets because at least with the Cabinet Doctors it won't withstand time. When we were reviewing proposals their son said it would last a lifetime-just a sales pitch!

While trying to solve this problem I noticed that the cabinet was pulling away form the wall in the top right hand corner. I removed all the items from the cabinet and called the Closet Doctor asking them to make the necessary repairs. This was late in the week and I was told they could fix the problem early next week. The repairmen arrived as scheduled and fixed the problem. When I had made the appointment I didn't ask how much it would cost because I was willing to pay whatever it cost to get the cabinet repaired. When they were done and the cabinet was once again flush with the wall I asked how much it cost for the repair and was pleasantly surprised when they told me there was no charge. The Closet Doctor is definitely a company that stands behind their work. All the other cabinets are working as good as when they were first installed. I highly recommend them.

It still didn't function well, but I worked around it. A leak in the wall behind the cabinets, forced an unexpected remodel. I received estimates from several contractors using stock or RTA "IKEA" kitchen cabinets. The cabinets I saw in these stores did not seem as sturdy as my existing cabinets. I couldn't customize and would have similar unusable spaces where the pre-made cabinets are put together. The contractors and pre-made cabinet stores told me custom cabinets would cost twice as much as their estimates. While looking for design ideas, I saw multiple Houzz and Reddit posts stating a local carpenter could give me custom cabinets at a much better price. I am so glad I paid attention to the posts! That's how I found Sacramento Millworks. His price for my project was comparable to the quotes I received for stock cabinets. Raymond is a carpenter and a designer. Because of his experience, he handled everything. He walked me through everything, including a trip to the granite and tile shops. I just picked colors. He was very patient.
