Walk-up window ordering. Picnic tables spaced far apart The pulled pork was very good. Large portion of meat on a very tasty bun. Baked beans were good but if you don't like onion, skip them. There were small cubes of crunchy onion. Fries were average at best but not bad by any means. The Mac and cheese was really really good. Cornbread had a good flavor but a bit dry. We were so hungry after snow tubing on Friday, 29 Jan 2021 and saw their sign heading in, so decided to try them after we finished tubing. What a wonderful experience! The brisket was about as good as I have had; and the cornbread rocked! My wife had the half rack of ribs and loved them! My husband and I visited the Canaan Valley and had lunch here we shared pulled pork and brisket. It was nice seasoned the brisket was a bit dried for our taste but overall the experience was pretty good. They need to work a bit more in the corn bread since also was dry. Apparently it's Bring Your Own Sauce here. Ordered to go buffalo wings and a brisket sandwich, wings had a small container of Frank's hot sauce on the side and sandwich had a couple of slices of meat on a plain white bun, nothing else. All sides are A la carte. The wings were ok, but I had to dip the wings in a cold container of Franks to get the buffalo zing. Not what I expected. Brisket was also ok but not out of this world, wish I had a choice of bbq sauce, but it wasn't an option...In total the food was a flop and my wallet was over $45 lighter for the experience, UGH. Not going back, felt like I got scammed. There's another BBQ restaurant near Elkins that's way better. read more

We are thrilled to have high quality BBQ appear in the valley! The service was friendly and the atmosphere is great - the remodeled space is very comfortable and fresh. Our table tried just about everything - brisket, ribs, half chicken, chicken wings, and a brisket salad - everything was flavorful and fresh, including the sides and desert. Add in some well selected beers and it's about perfect. We'll definitely be back. Edited - just had some leftovers from yesterday - wings ha e a really nice smoke flavor. When the Canaan Valley BBQ first opened, we loved it. The BBQ is great. However, the last couple of times we have been in, the food has been really dry. The last piece of cornbread I had could have been used as a rock. Also, the prices of the domestic bottled beer is outrageous. What a great place to eat. We truly enjoyed the Big Half Platter. It had portions of all the smoked meats: chicken, pork, brisket, ribs and wings. We were leaving the mountain heading home on Sunday and out of the corner of our eye saw a BBQ sign - BBQ in the middle of nowhere? Sign us up. Went in and we were basically the only ones in there. BUT it was one of the top barbecue places I've eaten at, and I grew up on bbq in TX. We had 50cent wings, pulled pork sandwiches, Mac n cheese, green beans. All amazing. The lady behind the counter was checking on us every couple minutes, making sure the right channel was on, getting us napkins and silverware, refilling our drinks, etc. and to top it off gave us a free brownie (which was amazing) at the end. It was a great end to the weekend. We are already looking forward to the next time we go back and will be stopping there of course. read more

The mac and cheese tasted old - not $4 a cup quality. $11 pulled pork had good flavoring, but not fresh. We loved their food when we had it Summer 2020; disappointed come Fall 2021. Awful. The ribs were so tough I couldn't have cut the bone out with a saw. The sauce was so atrocious the pulled pork sandwich went to waste. The cornbread was so bland I couldn't get my first bite down. BUT the fries were good. Would not recommend. read more
