Went there with my friend because she said "if you're looking For real authentic Thai food this is the place!" The staff was very friendly and attentive she explained the menu and made recommendations. They have homemade sausages. True to taste it was very delicious and spice on point. Portion sizes was generous. At the end of our meal we were served a tapioca pudding with taro. Highly recommend and without traveling all the way to "Thai town" in La. I tried their Tom kha and it was delicious like the previous owners a looong time ago. But when I went RIGHT after the ownership change, I asked about the A58 spicy angel wings. That was my absolute favorite, I asked if they still had it. They said yes and I paid for it, it was not the same!!!!! It was actually pretty tasty, just nothing like the previous wings I had asked about and not what I expected! I still find myself craving these wings years later!!! I'd give almost anything for this recipe and pay a small fortune to taste it again! For me, it's hard for me to eat spicy food, but I wanted to try something different this time. I got the chicken basil over rice but instead of getting mild spice, I got medium. I thought the food tasted good, but after about 5 minutes or so, it started to become overwhelming for me. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to eat it all but I ate about half of it. It would be unfair for me to leave a bad review. The food was good (before it started to burn) and my waitress was kind to me. This place was highly recommended by someone "Thai" and she labeled this place as "authentic" so here I am trying this place out. There were ample amount of parking right outside the restaurant and the quit spacious inside. Not huge but plenty of space :) I ordered the thai sausage, catfish curry (I changed from yellow curry w chicken to this...praying I made a good choice lol), Laos papaya salad, boat noodle and moo yang (grilled pork) yes I'm starving hahaha. Food came out pretty quickly. Thai sausage (issan sausage): I really like it...from the soft texture (vs most thai sausages I've had are pretty hard) to the taste...so delicious :) Catfish curry was spicy even though I ordered mild but to be fair I think this dish wouldn't have tasted as good if it weren't spicy. Unfortunately it came w eggplants which im allergic to so I couldn't fully enjoy this dish :( the papaya salad was good and sweet. Also the boat noodle and the grilled pork was on the sweet side. Everything in the boat noodle was delicious and soft and the grilled pork was soft and juicy...so juicy...the only thing is the sweetness. If you're Asian you might want to ask them to tone the sweetness down...but as an American...I can't get enough lol more sweet please :) Great service, good value, awesome food/flavor...so happy about the recommendation. If there's ever been a diamond in the rough, it's Can-coon. A decision made jokingly ( we wanted to say we went to "Cancun") was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. Locally, the Thai food lacks the basic foundations and highlights of Thai food but they bring it here in Bellflower. The parking is busy but a spot will always free up. Cancoon is actually a long time standout in the Thai Restaurant world in Los Angeles. I think people who remembered them at that small place across the street from Grandma's Broasted Chicken at the same street of Alondra Blvd. Bellflower is a hotbed for Thai community back in the 80s and 90s. There were a lot of great Thai Restaurants that opened back then. This still remains one of the best restaurant in all of Southern California. It doesn't get the glamour marketing that certain Thai places get at the Hollywood locations. You don't need to go up that far north to experience great, authentic Thai food. Cancoon or Can-Coon (their old spelling) is an excellent Northeast Thai Issan restaurant that honor the ingredients of that region. If you ever seen the menu, go check out their curry. There are plenty of great dishes to try. I think most people would go with the safe choices of pad Thai or one of their charbroiled pork dishes (ie Moo Yang). If you do, make sure to dipped the pork in one of their homemade spicy sauce. Besides the curry, I would also recommend anyone to try their grilled dishes like the chicken they offered in the 1st page of the menu. Their homemade sausage (#7 and #8 on the appetizer) is also an excellent choice. I would recommend people check out their Cancoon Special section of the menu. Their seafood (black pepper fish and steam mussels) are the highlight of that section. The curry (yellow or Green Curry with fishballs) would be stalwart of this epic section. I noticed they get tons of locals who seemed love the fried rice and chow mein, but I can tell you the curry sections are the ones that needs to be explored if you get that chance. Bellflower is exploding with new places in the past few years, but this oldie but goodie of a place is still one of the better option in town for any kind of food. For Thai food, it's still the one to go to in that Long Beach/Inland Corridor area. read more

I feel like each dish tastes as if it's home made with so much love. I've never been disappointed in anything I've ordered yet. And I'm here a lot lol. I personally choose NOT to order off of 3rd party delivery apps to place my orders. If you're not aware, there are fees and the restaurants have to pay a portion for just using them to take their orders. I always call in for my order and pick up my food. During the pandemic, I choose to stick to mom and pop places to support small business. This place deserves more credit from how sanitary they are and how their food is always on point. Hidden Gem in the Bellflower area!! I think everyone has their own preference when it comes to finding good food. & when it comes to a specific type of food, you tend to be picky with it. Thai food is one of those things that if it doesn't meet your expectations of good Thai food, you wouldn't want it. Or at least that's the case for me. My mom recently moved out of Long Beach to bellflower. Even though the cities aren't far away from each other, you no longer have access to your favorite restaurants. This place is definitely exceeding expectations of what amazing Thai food should be! We ordered two young coconuts to drink. Nuah nam tok beef, beef jerky, moo yang, and the seafood soup. LET ME TELL YOU!! Everything was utterly amazing! Every item that was brought out had so much flavor. I literally stuffed myself to the point of no return. The beef jerky was super crispy with tons of flavor. The dipping sauce that comes with the beef jerky and moo yang was delicious. The seafood soup literally had so much seafood, nothing was skimped out. The moo yang was so juicy and flavorful. And the nam tok literally has a kick to it. & with that type of beef salad, you have to be picky on how it tastes, and boy was everything delicious!! The service is really great too. I could tell my workers have gotten use to my moms presence at this restaurant because they were joking and sharing stories our their travels to Thailand. The food is so good, that I know I just ate there yesterday. But I feel like I need to go back today. I definitely recommend this place if you're craving an array of delicious flavors from Thailand. P.S. yes the soup looks like there is nothing in there but that's only because I took a picture after we ate more than half of it. No idea but when you go for Thai, some places really do taste the same but not at Cancoon. They have an amazing spicy fish dish and curry that is phenomenal. Prices are reasonable and customer service is very, very good. You can tell there is a high level of pride in what and how they serve. It is very clean inside but their drawback is their air conditioning that seems to be lacking for the size of the place. We tend to not go on really hot days since it can get very hot to the point of discomfort while eating. Overall a place on the list of places to go for sure, will absolutely be back read more
