I stopped by based on the reviews. The staff were very friendly and efficient. The food fell short for me considering the reviews. The hoagie roll was interesting. I had the Jackson Mountain (Turkey, strawberry jam). It was flavorful inside but the roll left it tasting kind of flat. Next time i would get a Hardier tasting bread. My husband had similar comments about this roll. Worth a stop if you want a sandwich, quick bit to eat. read more

This small deli right in the middle of the action in Pagosa Springs serves up a variety of fresh sandwiches. After walking around all morning, we decided this unassuming deli was the place for a bite. The staff was very welcoming and working hard. It has a few tables inside and an outside seating area. Currently there is road construction, so you would be eating next to that if you are outside but that's not their fault. We ordered the tuna sandwich, the Nipple Mountain (pulled pork), and a Cuban. The sauce on the pulled pork was unusual but in a good way. The tuna salad was fresh. The Cuban was okay. You do have to pay for bottled water if you want water to drink. Just FYI. Overall a good deli I'd revisit. I would like to try their breakfast. read more

We visited Peak Deli on a weekend and missed breakfast (but should have asked if it was extended since I saw others enjoying breakfast). As a vegetarian, there were limited options and I would have preferred breakfast. The server was extremely friendly but the service took a long time as there were only a few employees for many customers. The food quality was good. Had a breakfast burrito that was quite large and tasty. However this business uses deceptive practices to overcharge customers. Our party of 7 got hit with 18% gratuity. This is problematic for a few reasons: - This is a counter service cafe, not a sit down restaurant. There's no extra work involved and debatable whether any counter service should get tips. - We were 3 traveling families and paid separately. I guess because we walked through the door together we're somehow a large party? - They present you a receipt to sign with a tip line without ever disclosing they already charged you tip. This place has a really gone downhill since the Sterns sold it. They have started making cheap substitutions for what used to be quality ingredients. The hot meals are never hot, rather lukewarm, and on three separate occasions I have found hair in my food. I really wanted to continue giving this place chances as they used to be one of my favorites, but I don't think I will ever go back or recommend it ever again. read more
