Stopped in for some dessert after lunch at Scratch. The place is nicely decorated and they have plenty of candy options to choose from. The staff was very friendly and my only gripe was that I wanted to mix some chocolate with my gummies but I was told it had to be in separate bags. Denied. I went with some gummie selections and they were great. A cute little shop to hit while walking around in oak park. Next time I want the chocolate covered candy corn. Sounds awesome. read more

We received a Candycopia candy bouquet as a gift for my 9 year old daughter. She absolutely loved the whole thing! It was the most unique gift she received. She kept yelling out the names of each candy and jumping up and down. When I asked her what she thought she said, "Fantastic! You are not allowed to eat it!" The display was adorable and could work for many types of occasions. The range of candy for ours was what you typically find in stores, which work well for our daughter. I believe the store has artisan candy options which could make for a delicious gourmet sweets gift! I will definitely be ordering these for future birthdays, holidays, and even teacher gifts! Candycopia is a wonderful addition to Oak Park. The candy displays are so fun to see, the owners (who are fellow parents from our school) are just so lovely and helpful, and the candy and ice cream are amazing. I won a contest and got a free box of candy, and I am now addicted to their gummies - so juicy and flavorful. It is dangerous to have this cute candy shop in walking distance from my house. My 10 year old likes to walk there and have an ice cream on his own. He even went to try Apple Pay and they helped him figure it out. (He had a cash backup in case it didn't work.) The employees were nice and welcoming. One of them even explained the background of the store. I'm writing this review because I bought a couple chick o sticks from here a few months ago and I don't normally check the expiration date on candy when I first buy it.. But this chick o stick was light in color than usual so I checked the expiration date..it expired last year (2022) in September. How? How do you have candy that old in a fairly new store I wish I had seen this sooner but I only eat candy sometimes and figured it would still be fresh. It wasn't fresh the day I bought it. I want to love this place.. I really do.. I'd say 80% of the time I check the hours, they are open, I show up and guess what. Private party.. I can't shop. This disappoints my daughter so much since she earn a trip to candycopia when her chores are done. Sweet deal pulled together by Mirella for Yelpers. Loved the Caramel Flight - especially the Sea Salt one - flavorful, yet so light. The chocolate one hit the spot as well - rich in tase. The Cider Lemon had good flavor, though tended to stick to the wrapper a bit - still enjoyed it. I also had a red wine flavored truffle. Quite an interesting shop with varieties of homemade, bulk and commercial candies available. While Candycopia has yet to open its doors, I can already tell the Masons have created something more than your typical candy store. My husband gifted me to their treat tower as a Mother's Day present and every sweet I've unwrapped is better than the next - and totally unique! While the items could be enjoyed by young and old, the variety of selections and diversity of flavors made it feel like a special 'adult' treat that I haven't been quick to share with my kids :) Favorites so far have been the Lily's Chili's (think spicy sour-patch kids) and the CB Stuffers (ENORMOUS peanut butter cups stuffed with other decisions flavors, such as Marshmallow or Caramel). We enjoyed the product and service so much that we are working with them to create the treat bags for our daughter's upcoming birthday party. Since we live in Chicago, they arranged for their team members to deliver to us direct for a super reasonable delivery fee! We have enjoyed everything about this establishment so far and cannot wait for Candycopia's doors to officially open! read more

I visited Candycopia while on a weekend trip from out of town. The store was great! There were so many interesting locally sourced items, old school candy favorites, flavored popcorn, and an entire section of sour selections (my son's fav). You can find anything sweet you are looking for here! I love the fact that this is a family owned and run store. The owners daughters were in the store working while I was there - they were so helpful and knowledgeable about all of the treats available, I was so impressed with both of them. Candycopia is an absolute treasure of a store! My daughter loves all the fun novelty candies (gummy hot dogs and hamburgers and Harry Potter chocolate frogs are her favorites) while I love the unique variety of dark chocolates. There are also great gift ideas, we've purchased everything from a glass jar full of candies decorated for teacher appreciation week, to a tackle box full of gummies for my nephew to take to college. Everyone had a blast during the blind taste test, scavenger hunt, and pin the cherry on the ice cream game. And of course, unlimited fill-ups from the long, colorful row of unending candy jars were a huge hit! Although the candy selection is great and the shop itself is vibrant and welcoming. The two star rating is based solely on the staff. The staff looks sloppy. Employees in stretch pants that look like they have just came to work from the gym, short cut off shorts, tee shirts, not a pulled together professional look. I fully understand it's a candy store and fun is the goal. It's also a million degrees out. If you're going to allow your employees to wear shorts they should be decent looking Bermudas or knee length cargo. Tee shirts should be store issued and have the shop logo on them. The overall staff look was frumpy and messy. Leaving the customer with a sense of unclean. If this very unique shop is going to succeed it needs to pull its staff together for a more uniform, professional look. read more

I LOVE Candycopia for SO many reasons. For starters, it is a great place to go with my kids as a special treat. They have rows of candy jars filled with different gummies and chocolates. My kids go in and can make a little bag with their own mixture of treats for just a couple of dollars. The end of a bike ride, a reward for doing something great, just feeling like doing something special that day...all perfect reasons to visit Candycopia. It's also been my new "Go to" spot for birthday or thank you gifts. I love getting a gift card, or even better, bringing the birthday kid in with me and letting them pick out their own "tackle box" full of different treats. It's essentially a plastic box with 18 different squares that the kid can fill with the gummies and chocolates of their choosing. SO. MUCH. FUN! And let's not forget the adults. There is chocolate, fudge, handmade caramels, ice cream....so many options!! The owners are so kind and helpful in picking out the perfect treat. We have already been to Candycopia an embarrassing amount of times since they opened and will continue to keep going because we love it so much! :) read more
