every time i have friends in town, we go here and split the roni one pizza and the capra salad. hands down the best pizza i've had in fort worth. the bacon marmalade is so good. on top of that, the service is always great and the atmosphere is very lively. by far my favorite restaurant to go to with friends and family. it's also on magnolia, which is a cute street with melt ice creams and a lot of cute coffee shops. read more

Maybe I'm too hard on pizza. But, why is it that so many trendy pizza places produce mediocre pizza that is perceived by so many as great? Enter Cane Russo, a locally owned, Deep Ellum pizza place trying to chain-ify itself and apparently going through some growing pains. We visited Cane Russo for the first time with some friends who have been coming here for some years and spoke of it with affection. On a Saturday night, the Magnolia location was packed with a two hour wait, Fortunately, we had a reservation...or did we? The hostess stand had no record of it. I'm happy to say they worked with us and got us a table in 15 minutes despite the 120 minute delay we might have faced otherwise. The night we came Magnolia was blocked off for one of Fort Worth's seemingly endless "arts festivals" in which Magnolia was packed with booths containing the wares of local artists and other vendors. We called the restaurant for suggestions on where to park and the staff we talked to were literally unable ot help us. She actually said "I don't know. I have no suggestions." (?!?!?!) Once inside the restaurant, it was obvious that parking ot the south of the building was the easy choice. She just had nothing. Whatever, we figured it out. They had one of my favorite beers (The Temptress by Lakewood) in a bottle, which I enjoyed. Cocktail options were fun and the choices our group made were well received. Our server was slow to bring them (we could see them waiting at the bar for her for five minutes or so before she brought them to us). Our friend ordered the Focaccia, going on and on about how much they loved it. what came was not the same dish they were used to. And it was definitely unremarkable. A manager came by and my friend asked her about it. She said she'd been opening another store and came back to this one to find the menu changed in various way, including this dish. She suggested next time we order it "old school" to receive the dish my friends expected. She offered no refund nor did she suggest we return it and get the "old school" version. The pizza itself was flavorful, but the crust was thin and a bit dry for me. And the toppings did not extend close enough to the edge for my taste. If you are going to leave an inch or more of crust, it better have it's own flavor or it just seems like a way to skimp on toppings. Just my opinion. I may be ruined by my New England pizza roots. I have yet to find great pizza in Fort Worth, with the exception of Jets in Keller which has no dining room. read more

Amazing brick oven pizza with plenty of variety. Lunch special is a great deal. One of my favorite pizza restaurants in town.

I have been here many times since through the years and their pizza has stayed consistently delicious on every visit. I do get wild hairs and stray off the pizza course and their sandwiches and pastas are usually good if you're just wanting something different but I have a tendency to stick with the pizzas. Pizzas are a decent size and depending on my level of hungry, I can eat a whole one in a sitting but will usually try to stick to half and save the rest to go as they range between $15-$20. They also have a full bar and beer selection if you're lookin to wet your whistle. If you like old fashions, get one with the habanero honey for a little kick! Service here is usually pretty good, and on my recent visit, was informed to try the Magnificent Bastard. Basically a honey bastard with brisket. Needless to say, I finished the entire pizza in one sitting. This place is located on Magnolia and is always busy, but you can always put in a reservation. Parking can be a little tricky but not impossible. Solid place for Neopolitan style pizza, though if looking for another style of pizza but with the same kind of flavors, check out their sister restaurant, Zoli's. Just as a good!! read more

Truth: if this had been a review on the service, it would be 1 star. But the food brought it up a star. I'm visiting town from out of state (Colorado) in early May 2021 due to a family emergency. Tired of eating at home & the hospital, we wanted to go somewhere we could be safe & with a patio. Overall, the service was such a weird experience. When we stopped by, there were two hostesses at the booth, both lacking any and all common sense & problem solving skills. Both were slow to greet us but when they finally did, I shared I'd like a patio seat. The hostess simply reiterated, like a broken record, we can seat you inside right now. Of course, where she wanted to seat us was right in the middle of the restaurant. I can't tell you how many times I had to tell her I didn't want to be inside or close to another table. We finally were sat at the bar, in the corner. At the end of the day, our actual waiter/bartender was much friendlier than the hostesses. Really hope they get trained better! read more

This was my first time going to Cane Rosso in Fort Worth. My friend and I waiting about 45mins-an hour we did go on a Friday night so nothing out of the ordinary for a night out. We had the pleasure of having Megan as our server, she was so sweet explain everything to us since it was my first time, never rushed us to go and gave us excellent suggestions for food. Cane Rosso is the biggest disappointment on Magnolia Avenue. Originally boasting unique, delicious grub, they now delivery sub-par, under-flavored rubbish. In the last few months, we've dined in and ordered take-out, with similar results: a variety of menu items that were uninspired, underflavored, and dull. Their "distinct" way of cooking pizza (loose in the middle, due to stone oven-cooked) results in gummy, room-temperature pizza that is tasteless and boring. Other menu items (spicy chicken rigatoni, burrata, carbonara, sandwiches, etc.) are equally disappointing. I bought a friend a gift card, fully aware that their future dining experience will be terrible, and feeling guilty for continuing to support a restaurant that is lacking in flavor or technique, on a street FILLED with far superior dining establishments. 0/10 stars - DO NOT recommend read more

Came here on Sunday for lunch. Had a short wait of about 5 minutes only. We got the PBR pizza (Pepperoni, house smoked brisket, roasted onions, pickled jalapeños, housemade mozzarella, bbq sauce) the TRUFFLE CARBONARA w/ chicken (Fettucini, cracked pepper, bacon,truffle cream, garlic breadcrumbs, egg yolk), and Mimosa. The PBR pizza was very delicious. We were close enough to the pit so I was able to watch it be made. Decent amount of pepperoni and brisket. The bbq sauce definitely brings the deliciousness out. I wouldn't recommend take out; this pizza has to be enjoyed fresh right out of the oven. The truffle carbonara with chicken was good. Good amount of sauce, good amount of meat. The bacon was fried to perfection and was crunchy with every bite of pasta. The raw egg yolk on the top was definitely different. I mixed it in with the rest of the pasta. For $2, the mimosa definitely had a good amount of alcohol in it and wasn't diluted with OJ like the other places I've been to. They have a small parking lot but it was full when we got there. Parking on the street wasn't too terrible on the day I visited and was able to find a spot on the street not too far away. I will return to try their other pizzas. read more

Cane always brings it in my book. I go with the honey bastard, it's always sweet spicy and savory how I like it. Now...does the night often result in some bowel movements? Absolutely.
