Picture this: We had just bought our first home only to find out the next day we moved-in that our main sewer line was full of roots. We couldnt use toilets, dishwashwer, sink, clothe´s washer ANYTHING! basically we couldnt live in this house. The last thing you need at that moment is a 10,000+ dollar bill to replace your main sewer line. I called a competitor of Cansfield´s and they told me "if you have roots in your pipe, you need to call John at Cansfield´s", I couldnt understand why he would recommend a competitor but after meeting John and Mike it was all clear. These guys are the best. I called John and he was on another job (hand digging and replacing a 45´ long main sewer line!). He answered the phone and just by being honest and straight to the point he had my trust. He agreed to come the next day to inspect the sewer pipe with a camera and assess the damage. They showed up on time the next morning, inspected with the camera and showed me the problem areas, I had root plugs in 2 places (due to a palm tree and another tree). He mentioned that in order to use the high pressure water cleaner he would have to install a clean out and gave me a quote for both services. Their pricing is unbeatable, I agreed right away and they started to work. First to the clean out installation: It was a nightmare!! the pipe runs at 3 feet deep and close to a palm tree so the soil around the pipe was in the middle of a root fest. Man!!! that thing kicked out butt! Once they got to the pipe they noticed it was cracked in several places so they had to dig even more to access a section in good enough shape to install the clean out. The root cleaning was the easiest by far! These guys are (if not the only ones) one of the few companies that own a "Harben Jetter" truck. We are talking professional, heavy duty, cutting edge technology sewer cleaning tool here. Let´s put it this way: other plumbing companies in CA call them to do this service for them. They put a special nozzle inside the pipe that cuts and pushes the roots away. While they do this they also have a camera inside so you can see this happening and of course the end result. After the cleaning is over they run the camera again the whole length to make sure no roots are left behind. Talk about peace of mind! They trust their work so much that they will give you warranty to return and clean again should roots appear or to inspect every 6mo-1yr for free! They are experienced, professional, honest (I cannot stress this enough) and do things the right way. They wont sell you anything you dont need or cut corners on their work. They are the real deal. Excellent job by Mike replacing my main water service valve along with pressure valve and hose bib. Updated gate valves with ball valves for reliability. We had a small window to work with as shutting off the main water line was going to affect four other condos in my complex. I wish I could give 100 stars, that is how pleased I am with Canfield's Plumbing. My water heater went out after 34yrs...yes it lasted that long. I was getting quotes up to $2000. I called Mike and not only did he replace the old one and get rid of it...he installed the new one plus had to do so much more than just pop it in. There was lots of things not up to code and he fixed all of those, made sure it was safe--- as the last person who installed it did it wrong--yes it lasted that long but it was totally incorrect--a mickey mouse job--never let friends or family do a job that a professional needs to do!! He also was able to save the covering that was there before and re-in forced that. You can imagine how much work he put in, fixing so many errors!! But he did it in a very timely manner, no inconvenience to me at all while he was here. Fast and efficient!! He really worked hard to make this correct and I more than appreciate his doing so. Best price ever...in fact should have been more but Mike is very helpful and cares about his customers. So to Mike..I say a huge thank you, you really did a great job and I am so very thankful. I was in distress with a situation regarding a dispute over a water leakage between the owner's condo unit downstairs and my condo unit upstairs. I had some problems with our drain and I called a couple of plumbers for estimate just to check the problem. Ridiculous prices from other plumbers but I had spoke with John and he gave me a very reasonable price. Came the next day, arrived early, got right to it and even recommended to update our water heater because it was dangerous and I had asked him to check for a leak.
