My wife found Castle 2 a while back. Bob has groomed 4 of our dogs .Always did a great job. One of example of how kind and compassionate Bob is my passed away recently. We love Bob! We've been taking our Havanese to Bob for the past 13 years and Bob is truly the best. Whenever I have tried other groomers here and there that are closer to where we live, I always end up regretting it. Other groomers have messed up our dog's cut or were not as thorough as Bob. Our dog does so much better with Bob and is much calmer when I pick him up from Bob than when I've picked him up from other places. Bob is the type that will call and say, "your kid is ready." He works long hours 6 days a week and is truly passionate about what he does. There was one time where I had the house fumigated and the whole family needed to leave the house for a few hours. Bob let us drop our dog off during that time free of charge to watch him while we found something to do to kill time. The best part, our dog loves Bob. Whenever I say "groomer Bob" our dog's ears perk up and he starts licking my face. He gets so excited to see Bob. I cannot say enough good things. Ignore the negative reviews here as we've had nothing but good experiences with Bob. read more

Meet my poor humiliated and butchered Airedale Terrier, Ryder... the top two pictures courtesy of Bob at Canine Castle. The two bottom of what he is supposed to look like. We have been going to this super unfriendly "groomer" for 12 years (dumb us), he never listens to our requests and I is always complaining about Ryder's hair. My husband regularly brushes Ryder and this week did it twice in anticipation of his grooming visit..... that is what we got back. Bob is lazy and has no idea how to groom the different breeds.... this I have heard from others. Beware of Canine Castle... seems he was always begging for us to fire him with his sore attitude, well today he gets his wish. read more

Brought my 2 sweet shitzus for cut & shampoo. Owner was very aggressive pulling their leashes. Because they didn't want to come to him. I saw an entirely different man behaving not as kind to the dogs, as if he snapped. I felt very uncomfortable leaving them there. Never will go back again. dogs were very scared. When I came to pick them up, they ran to me & just wanted to get the heck out of there. Always go on what your gut tells you! read more

After reading "dawn s" review below- I just had to leave one of my own. This is a great place to take your dogs - a really great place. If Dawn is complaining that Canine Castle is awful FOR THE LAST TWELVE YEARS, I know Bob is NOT the problem. Go and see for yourself, they are very kind and caring. They do a great job on my poodle princess. You know how your dog is like your child? That is how I am about my dog, and I would NEVER take her to a groomer that is like what "dawn" dreamed up. read more

For me, the best philosophy is to shop locally, and CCII did not disappoint. I was able to get the pup in the following morning from when I called for an appointment. Bob was soo understanding when I explained I may not be able to pick her up for a bit--he totally got it. For reference, our Bailey is a 70 lb. 2 year old Golden Retriever who had not been groomed in months (with all the weird weather it wouldn't have made much sense). When she walked out of there, I swear it was like half of a dog had been left in there with how much thinner she looked because of the way she was skillfully coiffed...her tail was proudly wagging, we were all happy. I am in love with this place, so glad to have found it, and highly recommend them for the quality, care, and price! read more

I am not sure why ratings are low for Cannie. I rescue this baby 5 years ago first I took him to Indiana bones there my one have sever separation anxiety he didn't do so well, then I took him to a place in Long Beach as my sister and I used have dogy days and her dog passed away. I then did my baby hair cut on my own it's was hard to learn but I managed for about year and half. Finally buddy's mom recommended this place as her baby have anxiety too and said Bob did a great job. First I was hesitant and kept doing hair at home then after returning from vacation his hair was long and I didn't want to feel stressed cutting Kollas hair so I tried today! Bob did a good job, kolla barked when I left him because he has sever separation anxiety. Dropped him at 10 got a call he is ready at 1 pm. Bob promised to take it slow since it's his first time. When I went to pick him I saw kolla was doing fine and his hair cut look excellent. read more

Bob is a great groomer. He truly cares about the animals. His work is thorough and nice.

Extremely EXPENSIVE shop. $20 for a nail cut no grind AND he made my dog bleed (her nails are all see-through). I have personally never paid more than $10 for a cut (with grind). Shop owner is nice in person (except he hung up on me on the phone and was very rude). If you want to pay a ridiculous price for remedial low-quality work. This is the place for you! All her nails were cut very unevenly and a few bleeding. I would have been happier to pay $20 if he gave me quality work and a grind. read more

"Caution" if you're thinking of taking your pet dog here. On December 12, 2013 I called Bob & explained that my 9 pound malti-poo doesn't like or trust groomers. I said I could give him a tranquilizer, muzzle him, or give him a pair of gloves to use because of my dog's anxiety & snapping. Bob laughed & said he has "fast hands" & to bring him in. He did not take me up on any of my offers. I dropped my malti-poo off, & drove home. As I was pulling into my driveway, my husband said that Bob had called quite upset & said that our malti-poo would have to be "put under by a vet & groomed that way." He had tried using a clipper on him once & evidently my dog had reacted. Bob hung up on my husband without letting my husband respond. I went back to pick up my dog in his crate, & as soon as I got home & let him out, he was limping on 3 legs. He has never limped before. My husband called him & asked "What happened?" & Bob said "Nothing" & that his experience with our dog is going to make him stop taking difficult dogs. I have taken him to two vets who said he needed surgery. I took him to VMSG to be seen by a surgeon who says he has sciatica which can be caused by an injury & he prescribed medication. It's my word against Bob's (Bob works by himself at Canine Castle II), but I would highly suggest you do NOT take your animal here. I would give him ZERO stars if I could. read more

I've gone to many groomers and finally found one that does a great job. He really took the time to do a great job.

i have 2 english cocker spaniels and took them to canine castle for the first time yesterday. let's just say this will be the first and last time that i bring my dogs to bob the owner. he had no clue how to groom specialty breeds. he completely chopped off all their fur and left their coats very unevenly cut. it will probably take over a year to grow back their "skirts" that he butchered. read more

My beloved dog passed away last night. He had been going to Bob regularly for 11 years and each time we have had a great experience. Jagger was a border collie mix and had a thick undercoat which Bob cared for beautifully. We will take other dogs to Bob for sure! His price is also right. read more

Always does a great job with my mini schnauzer when I take him in for a shampoo and haircut. The place is a little funky looking. Don't let that put you off. They're great. read more
