I take my dog, Beau there for approx. two weeks at a time as my partner is in the military and we do long distance. Beau is always so excited to get there and it's super easy to check in with them while I'm away. They're text friendly and always respond in a reasonable manner. Dropped my dog off here for 10 days over the Christmas break. She came back happy and healthy, which is what I really care about. You do have to text them to ask for updates/pictures but they always responded within a few hours with a picture. My dog came home a little stinky, but I 100 percent expected that when I boarded her at a kennel and already had a grooming appointment set for pickup day. Canine Country Inn did such a good job with my dog, I've already booked again for our next trip out of town. For the price, I am very happy with the care my dog got here. read more

I normally take my dogs to another kennel, but my usual place was going to be closed while we were out of town. With less than a month notice, I frantically started researching and emailing questions out to other local kennels. Bob was the most prompt and thorough in his responses and I was really pleased with the no frills attitude and reasonable prices. I don't know about you, but I roll my eyes hard when I read about places that have tv's in the kennel, come on! The kennel is located on Bob's property, well behind his home. Small business owners can be busy, so you need to set up an appointment for a tour. We accidentally showed up early and Bob was very accommodating in showing us around. Bob and his family have decades of experience with dogs, both in caring for them and showing them. This is in line with other kennels I have toured and used and the space was kept very clean. The kennels we looked at were maybe 5x5 or 5x6 that lead out to outdoor runs. The open exercise area is an open grassy area that is fenced in. Prices are reasonable at $20 a day, or if you have 2 dogs sharing a kennel it's $32 a day. Rates include the indoor/outdoor run access, visiting the play yard twice a day, food and administering any medications. If you drop off after noon or pick up before noon, he will charge it as a half day. This is refreshing as many places nickel and dime you for play time and medications, it was a pleasant surprise. For 15 days we paid $480. I also appreciate places that keep dog families separate, both indoors and outdoors. One of my dogs has a lot of anxiety and you just never know if another dog might hurt yours, so this is always very important to me. They provide Nutro dog food at no charge, but you may provide a sealable container (no bags) of dog food if your dog gets an upset stomach. Treats are not provided, but you may provide. Same with bedding. Blankets are better than beds if you have a chewer, or if your dog has a nervous bladder since dog beds can't be thrown in the wash. I asked about bathing on pick up days since one of my dogs likes to roll in the dirt. If pickup coincides with when he has help there then bathing ranges from $15-25 depending on if they are short or long haired dogs. It's a separate charge paid directly to the bathers. As it turned out there were no bathers available the day I picked them up, so that was a bummer. The only thing that gave me pause was that I had provided all the information ahead of time via email, I included notes with detailed instructions with the dogs treats/blankets and he had me on the schedule during the tour. However, I still had a text from my husband on drop off day that Bob was asking about the dates. I was busy at work so I sent another email and Bob responded it was fine, but the situation made me super nervous. There was also a follow up question that wasn't actually answered towards the end of our trip. I think he just has a lot of kennels and he stays busy all day so if he's not in the actual office, he doesn't recall who is coming in/with how many/other details inserted here. I find that understandable, it just had me uneasy since it was our first time using them. Upon pick up, despite not getting a bath, the dogs smelled fine. One of the blankets smelled pretty bad (the one who drinks a ton of water probably peed on it at some point, but it was dry) and they were way more low key then typical at pickup, but all else was normal. They seemed well fed, showed no fear and were perfectly fine. Bob also gave me feedback about their behavior during the stay. I will continue to use my regular kennel because they seem to know my dogs and give a more personal touch. However, this place really came through, and at a good rate. I will no longer worry what to do if my regular place is unavailable, because I'm comfortable bringing my dogs to Bob for a few days. Canine Country Inn knows what they're doing. read more

I am going to preface this post by saying your opinion may depend on what type of pet owner you are. For my husband & I we absolutely adore our two pitties. We had to be in Cleveland the day before Thanksgiving for a final verdict on a custody hearing where we were awarded full custody of my stepson. This final court date being the day before Thanksgiving with 3 weeks notice put us in a pinch for dog boarding & we struggled to find ANYONE who was available for the week. With so much going on with planning the trip & planning for such a big change in our life I was thankful.& so relieved to have found some place that wasn't booked up. In the past when we have done Rover.com or a facility we have met ahead of time & seen the home or facility. I booked Canine Country Inn after talking with the owner on the phone & texting. My husband said it was fine, just different than what we had had used before. When we arrived there was no one with the dogs, they were all alone in the back of the house. Dozens & dozens & dozens of barking dogs. We definitely felt NO ONE goes out there to be with the dogs unless someone is picking up or dropping off their pet. We were unsure where to go & the owner finally came out & met us. He did not help us with the dogs or anything else & was not friendly. He just stood there & watched us struggle to get the food, toys, blankets & dogs out of the car. He didn't interact with our dogs or seem to have any interest in them at all. He just ed us in the back, put our our dogs into the kennel & then took us to the office to get our phone numbers. He did glance at our papers but as I read somewhere else he never gave us an invoice or copied any of our papers. The kennels are cold with just a bowl for water & a raised board for the dogs to sleep on. If we had not brought the blankets they would have only had a board to sleep on or cold concrete. The minute we closed the door to the kennel I burst into tears. This place was like dropping them off at the pound!! It was awful & I couldn't stop crying! Both my husband and I felt COMPLETELY SICK!! I wanted so badly to stay home with then but couldn't leave my husband to deal with an 18 hour round trip drive to Ohio with a child he had only met once alone!! When we picked them up although they were not injured, they were different, shaking & traumatized by their experience & the smell of urine coming off them both was overwhelming!!!! We found that despite being told that we could bring our own food, NONE of it had been touched. They never had any wet canned food they were used to but only the cheap dry food the boarding facility gave all the dogs. The same man just opened the kennel & stood there again watching us struggle but now with a small scared boy that we had only just met with us as well. We had to crawl into the kennels & thru the doggie door to retrieve their toys, wet urine soaked blankets & reload the full containers of food into the car. Please don't leave your babies here. They deserve so much better. They are family & this Thanksgiving when we go away our babies will be in someone's home & in a loving comfortable & anxiety free home. We should have been able to focus on our new family during our trip & not have to worry about the conditions our pets were in. read more

We were new-ish in the area and in search of a kennel. I treat my dog like my child, and I wanted to make sure to find a place I felt extremely comfortable leaving him. Most places seemed to have only an indoor or outdoor option, but it's Texas and leaving him outside in the summer all day was a concern for me. On the flip side, I didn't want him stuck in a crate all day. Canine Country Inn is a great option with the dog being able to go indoors and outdoors whenever they please during the day. Goose (my dog) has time in grass where he can run. The kennels are very roomy, which gives my dog room to move around and have his own space. There are not direct interactions with other dogs, so I'm not concerned about anything happening to him while he is there. Bob and his family are extremely attentive and knowledgeable about dogs. If ever needed there are contingency plan in place in case your dog does need to see the vet. There fill up quickly, so I'd suggest booking in advance. read more

We've taken our Jack Russell here for about three years and she absolutely LOVES it. My husband and I travel frequently on business and have had to board our sweet girl for as long as two weeks. She's always happy and healthy when we pick her up (although she is usually so tired from all the excitement that she sleeps for a day). Yes, your dog will need a bath. Yes, it's no frills. But Bob and his staff are great people and very caring. They even make sure to feed our girl the food that we bring (although they provide food for free, as well). We have to drive 30 minutes each way to bring our dog here, but we wouldn't take her anywhere else! read more

I boarded my pets here for 15 years and when i picked up my 13 year old mix breed this week I was appalled. She smelled horrible, her fur was matted and she had a sore on her leg. I took her to the vet and the Dr said she has a staph infection due to the conditions in the kennel. The kennel is claiming it is a callus on her leg but she has never have one before and none of my pets have had them either since they are indoor pets. The kennel blamed me for not bringing a blanket or pillow but on the past is the blankets gets feces on then they are not washed. I have documentation from 2 vets that my pet lost 10-12 pounds on her visit and have been in contact with a lawyer to take him to court. While the owner said he would make it right he didn't. He waived the board fee but refused to pay the vet cost I incurred due to his neglect. If you research more reviews on this place you will find a another man who picked up his dog and it also had an infecrion. Do not be fooled by the low prices...you get what you pay for and a vet bill on top of it. read more

I've taken my dog to Canine Country Inn for probably about 8 years now. She is a dog who can be wary of strangers and fancies herself a watchdog, but she always seems excited to go to CCI. Holly is 13 now and I worry about leaving her anywhere in her senior years but they take good care of her at CCI. I take her own food and a bed to lay on and she comes home healthy and happy. In response to the owner's response about my post about my dog's injury - most of his response is flat out lies. His employee (his daughter) did not go check the kennel while we were there and never let us know that the space was clear of damage until AFTER we had left the facility. Convenient since we weren't able to see that for ourselves. The vet tech AND vet both agree that this was NOT caused by a bite and that this was most likely caused by my dog getting caught on a jagged protrusion somewhere on the property because there was NO bite pattern, NO bite marks, NO bruising, and the injury was a SINGLE STRAIGHT LINE that isn't consistent with bite marks. This is evident in the pictures that I provided. Feel free to google what a bite mark looks like, it's pretty plain to see. My husband went and got my mom's dogs and then came back and said to me, "did you get our money back yet?" to which I said no - and then the employee went on her own to get the money. I will be obtaining a report from the vet that states what exactly they believe caused this "unfortunate event" as you put it. The only way my dog could have been bitten is if you left her with other dogs (which never should have happened), since my dogs have never bitten any person or other animal, and certainly not each other. If that had been the case (again, very highly unlikely) then surely the smaller of the two would not have come out completely unscathed. And, if they were being provided any real level of care surely anyone would have noticed this wound and instantly separated the animal and notified us, which they didn't. There was no blood seen because of a number of pretty common sense factors. First, dogs are very good at cleaning themselves and their environment. Second, your employee told us that she hosed down the outside (cement only area) 3 times a day, so if she didn't see it initially she would have washed it away herself unknowingly. Which leads to the last point, no one saw blood cause no one there cared to notice. The over packed facility is clearly geared toward max revenue and not happy/safe animals. Additionally, from other reviews I've read your "policy" is to deny everything in your ability to avoid liability and shift blame in any way to someone else. And if your employee was really so frightened by an upset customer (hysterical is actually very accurate if you look up the definition) then she should have by all means called the police, as we would have welcomed the police report on scene. But, clearly she was more panicked and unsure what to do than afraid. I don't fault her for that, and its unfortunate she had to handle that since her superior/manager/boss(/father) could not. She was never in any danger, as she was never advanced on, touched, or personally threatened. Cursed at? Understandably, yes. Did she hear about wanting to hit someone vaguely/generally. Sure, but without directing at or even looking at her. Any reasonable/responsible business owner would have immediately offered to waive all fees and cover any expenses. Which you did, but only after realizing you had to, and not before doing everything you could to cover your own rear end. read more

We have used them several times now for our 1 year old terrier mix, he loves it! He is never scared or nervous when we leave him. We always take his bed with us so he feels like home. He was on antibiotics for a wound on his foot during his last stay and they gave him his medication, no problem, and the wound was fully healed when we returned. The kennels are large and clean with an indoor and outdoor area for them to run around. They are super friendly and very easy to get a reservation as we can do it via text messages! His tongue was dry and he was coughing. They also gave him the CHEAPEST food and ignored the bag we left with him and he was sick for days! Not to mention he got fleas. I LOVE Canine Country Inn!! I have an 8 month old border collie/ German Shepard mix- Captain. He loves going to see Mr. Bob! You can truly see that they care about the animals. I had never boarded my dog before and was very nervous about the whole process. He reassured me that all would be well and even responded to allllll of my emails checking up of my fur baby.
