I was one of the orginal Lucky Dog Ranch customers with my dog Piper, a German Shorthair Pointer. GSP's require hours and hours of exercise per day. It was a blessing to take her and our second GSP, Harper to their place. My dogs LOVED LDR. They were able to run, hike, and play in the pond. I was fortunate to have such a great place to take my dogs. Piper lived to be 16 and up until the last weeks of her life, she still went to Lucky dog. Harper passed away sooner (GSP rescue) but absolutely adored Jeff and Susan. Jeff and Susan, the owners are fantastic people and always treated my dogs with the best care and attention. They even let us lay Piper and Harper to have their final resting place at Lucky Dog. I highly recommend this place. They not only have great daycare but the cage free boarding is a refreshing change from having to board dogs at a facility where they only get to stretch their legs a few times a day. I started bringing my Pyr mix soon after LD openes. I am now having my second dog come 3 days a week for daycare. She gets a good night's sleep because the dogs are very active on these 20+ acres. The owners are terrific care takers. read more

I cannot praise Lucky Dog Daycare Ranch enough! My lab/aussie mix has been coming here regularly for several months, and it is her absolute favorite place on Earth! She ADORES the owners and all of her dog friends, and is totally wiped out when I pick her up after a day of playing, hiking, swimming, lounging, and whatever else she does. I never have to worry about her while she's at Lucky Dog; and I even get occasional text messages with pics of her having fun! She started coming while still a puppy, and she has learned many great socialization skills from the older dogs in the pack; it's been a great experience for her. More importantly, I trust Jeff and Susan (the owners) with the life of my dog. They are the most caring dog lovers and they have created a safe and exciting place for dogs to play and board. When I had a family emergency, my dog's daycare turned into several days of boarding, and I didn't have to think twice about it. They took outstanding care of her, and I was able to focus on my family. I can't express the relief I feel knowing that my dog has a safe and fun environment to stay and play. Jeff and Susan create a safe environment by doing extensive temperament testing on all applicant dogs before accepting them into Lucky Dog daycare. First, you spend an hour with your dog, the owners of Lucky Dog, and the dog pack that's there that day, touring the grounds. Then, if your dog seems like a potentially good fit, your dog goes for a day of daycare without you, to be sure that s/he gets along with everyone. If accepted, dogs come at least once a week, so that everyone knows each other. It creates a safe environment where dogs learn from each other, make friends, and respect Jeff and Susan. I love that they don't have aggressive dogs! This makes me feel secure when I drop my "baby" off each day for daycare. Moreover, they are certified in dog first aid and have multiple vets on call in case of emergencies. An update on last year's review of Lucky Dog. Jango has been going to Lucky Dog for 1 1/2 years now. Jango and his parents love it as much as ever. He goes at least three days a week, four when he's lucky. Sometimes, he even gets to stay overnight. He loves spending the night with his friends in Jeff and Susan's enclosed sun porch which has a doggy door in case nature calls in the middle if the night. Lucky Dog is a dogs heaven on earth. My German shephard "Rex" has been boarded here since they started the business. When I pull up the hill to the ranch the excitement begins. Rex jumps out of truck with out any hesitation and without even saying goodbye. I don't give him a second thought while enjoying my vacation. I know he LOVES Jeff and Susan and is well taken care of. I periodically get pics texted to me which is an added extra touch. Rex is so tired when I pick him up so I know he's had a fun time. Its like a vacation for your dog unlike other boarding facilities I used before discovering Lucky Dog Ranch where Rex was put in a kennel for 10 days and taken out periodically to eliminate on artificial turf. Lucky Dog Ranch is number one! Our dog Tyler cannot wait to get to the ranch and so looks forward to the visits. All we have to do is hint that he is going to the ranch, and it is hard to contain Tyler until we get him in the car and enroute to Lucky Dog. We started at Lucky Dog about six weeks ago and Tyler is a changed and well-adjusted dog as a result. Being about one year old, at Lucky Dog Ranch Tyler gets the free-ranging exercise he needs, the interaction with other dogs that his social nature requires, and loving attention from the owners Jeff and Susan. The owners are genuinely concerned about the welfare of Tyler and periodically send us pictures during the day to let us know what Tyler is up to. When we drop him off in the morning all we have to do is open the car door and he runs, leaps, wags, and whines to meet Jeff or Susan. When we pick him up at the end of the day he is happy, tired, and content. What a changed dog! I have complete trust and confidence in this establishment. read more

Truly a retreat and treat for lucky dogs!

My older dog Peanut has been enjoying and benefiting from Lucky Dog Ranch for two years. She is energetic, has lost weight, and seems to be getting younger. I also board Peanut at the Ranch when I am out of town and although I miss her, I never worry about her because she is in such care care and is having so much fun. My dog went to Lucky Dog Ranch for years. We recently moved away and have not been able to find a doggy daycare even remotely close to the wonderfulness that is Lucky Dog! It's not just the fact that it is totally cage-free, the acres and acres of land, the bunches of squirrel filled tress, or the awesome pond. The greatest thing about this place is Susan and Jeff. They genuinely care about you and your pet! My dog makes noises I've never heard from him when we pull into the drive. Susan and Jeff are wonderful, caring folks with an amazing ranch for your pup!
