I ordered a large pepperoni and sausage pizza and an order of sauteed shrimp. The pizza was very good. I am new to the area and this will definitely be my pizza spot. The shrimp was good as well. Where do I even start....First off this was my 3rd and final bad experience at Cannataro's. I will not be back and I am disappointed in myself for even giving this place three chances. The first time I ever visited Cannataro's, my boyfriend and I were seated at the very first table right by the door, even though there was plenty of seating; which is rather annoying. I had ordered the sampler platter which came with chicken parmesan, lasagna, and fettuccini Alfredo. The food was delicious, the Alfredo was thick and creamy with a great flavor and the sauce for the lasagna and the chicken parmesan was fantastic and flavorful as well. My boyfriend had ordered the carnivore calzone, meaty and flavorful filled with plenty of cheese along with various meats (ham, bacon, pepperoni, sausage). Because of this first and wonderful experience on the food end we decided to return again for lunch. This time I had ordered the lunch special chicken and broccoli Alfredo and him the carnivore calzone again. The Alfredo was watered down and no flavor at all, I thought maybe because it was a lunch special they were trying to cut costs. The chicken was tasteless as well and the overall dish was rather disgusting to be honest; even if it was an excuse to cut costs it was the worst I have had. My boyfriend received a vegetarian calzone instead of carnivore one and barely ate any of it. The waiter took so long to return that by the time he did and asked what was wrong we just wanted to leave. We hadn't even touched our food hardly and weren't even offered to have it removed from the check. We paid the full bill and left dissatisfied but still thinking it was just a bad day as our first experience was the complete opposite. The third time we had went there was maybe two other couples seated in the restaurant. It took forever to be seated and when we were it was in the back and it was extremely hot. We waited so long we just left due to lack of service and the fact that it was so hot in there you could barely breathe. We then decided to go again and see how it would be. I ordered the fettuccini Alfredo and my boyfriend the carnivore calzone. It took almost 45 min to receive our food and a party of 6 that had ordered the same time as us received their food 20 minutes before we had. My Alfredo again was watered down and lacking flavor. The pasta was not cooked enough and was hard and tough. My boyfriend described it as eating rubber bands. I was extremely disappointed. My boyfriends calzone barely had any cheese in it and was over cooked. I mentioned my Alfredo to our waitress and if they changed their recipe. She said they didn't and that it might be watered down because the cook was busy and in a hurry. Busy or not that is no excuse for food quality and for the amount of time we waited as well. She offered to have him make a new one but I was not about to wait another 45 minutes just for my food. My boyfriend ate my dish and I his which was still not satisfying to either of us. When we received the check the waitress looked at me and said she had removed my boyfriends soda...a nice gesture? I had water myself so it wasn't like it made much of a difference. My boyfriend did tip 20% which was generous considering.... Overall I am highly dissatisfied with the inconsistency and lack of service at this restaurant. This has to be my favorite Italian restaurant. I discovered this restaurant a little over a year ago and let me tell you I can't get enough. Their lasagna is amazing, spaghetti carbonara and the fettuccine Alfredo are some of my favorites. The pizza is so unique in flavor and their spicy artichoke dip and their bread I cannot go without. But the main reason I keep coming back is for the service and the lunch specials. Can't wait to go back again. read more

I placed a To Go order today (3/25) as we received an advertisement promoting two entrees both with a soup or salad, garlic bread and a desert all for 25.00. This is a great offer as we are in the middle of the Covid problem and the hospitality business is one that we all need to support. That being said the food was very tasty, not exactly what we ordered but it is what they wanted to give us. I was greeted at the counter by a young women by her asking "your name" not hello or anything that would be considered a greeting and or welcoming. Ok she is busy, I waited for the order no big deal I was handed the order, no thank you or any other word said, OK no big deal. Get the order home, open the bag and here we go the soup is missing, the spaghetti and sausage was turned into spaghetti and one sausage and one meat ball. So I go back to retrieve the soup why we need to make another 15 minute drive is beyond except their Wedding soup is great. Here goes Mrs Personality again I go in ask her about the soup and she goes and prepares it. She hands me the bag, I say Thank You and she replied "No Problem". I'm sorry but it was a problem You did not check the order and you made a customer come back in the rain, a simple apology would have been the end of it. We have been patronizing the store since it's "Dine Under the Vines" days, although not very often as we the staff has always made us feel as though they are doing us a favor by serving us. This is a tough industry but it seems as though they have lost (never really had it) the meaning of Hospitality which is the reason people walk in the door. I just want you to know go for the food, but don't be surprised if you leave feeling like you really don't matter to them if you showed up or not. read more

I wanna love this place, but just don't see it happening. I've dined in twice, and ordered takeout once. The ambiance is nice. It looks like a small family owned restaurant. The service is a 4. The first time, our waiter just rushed us along. The second, our waitress took good care of us. The food is so, so. Linguini carbonara tasted more like bacon than anything else. The menu reads bacon crumbles; it was more like bacon slices mixed with everything else. It was ok. The baked zitti was good. Stuffed Mushrooms, were ok. I've made better at home. Vegetarian Lasagna is good. I ordered it for catering once and I felt it was overpriced. I've had other pastas, but don't remember what they were like so I won't comment. All in all, I'll probably go back when I get promos and specials only. read more

My new fave italian spot! Loved the linguini carbonara. Smothered with big chunks of chicken breast, bacon and mushroom. So good! Missing one star as the restroom placement is awkward. It was a little bit of a drive but we made it. also found out on the way there that they offered a 10 for 20 yelp deal, perfect. I didn't really care for the cannelloni , I think it was the spinach I believe. My family came here on an mid-Sunday afternoon. Nice little place, though it was a bit warm inside. Pasta fagioli and the wedding soup (chicken, meatballs) were both good and tasty. Initially I thought the soup bowl was small, but actually the portion size was perfect, considering that we still had the main pasta meals remaining. We ordered the pasta primavera, pesto linguine (basil sauce), and the fettuccine alfredo suprema (basically fettuccine alfredo with chicken and broccoli). Pasta primavera was okay, but both the linguine and alfredo were good. With the alfredo, we got a good amount of chicken and broccoli, unlike other restaurants where you only get three pieces. The food also wasn't rich and heavy which was great. Larger portion sizes too, so definitely had to take some home. We also ordered the Bread Knots, which were made fresh, with a bit of garlic and butter. I'm glad that they weren't made rich and heavy. Tasted great and it's good finger food. Overall pretty good and I'm looking forward and coming back to try their pizzas and calzones. read more

I have been eating here for 10 years but always take out. Tonight we decided to dine in and had a great experience. Tammy was an excellent server and her recommendation to try the special which was chicken stuffed with sun dried tomatoes, spinach and Gorgonzola and a side of risotto was great. Love this place!!!!! Their food is really delish and their breadsticks are to die for. Love their lunch and daily specials!! Awesome bang for your buck. I really like their fettuccine and their pizza. Lasagna was really good and tastes homemade as well as their baked ziti. Their ravioli was pretty good too but only consists of 4 raviolis for the lunch special. I've had their appetizer sampler and it was just okay. Also had their brownie and wasn't too satisfied with it. Customer service is okay... They're pretty slow in bringing out the check/running it, getting boxes, etc so I find myself always late for work when I go here for lunch and such. The food takes awhile too but that I don't mind as much because it tastes so good. This is probably my favorite Italian place in CA. Honestly, the breadsticks make this place. So, I had heard about this place and filed it away. But today, while shopping next door at In Cycle, a few people came into the cycle store with bags of food. That stimulated my taste buds. I went in and ordered the Antipasto salad. I also ordered a family size fettuccini with chicken, all to go. While there was some spillage of the sauce when I got home, it was worth it to me. The pasta came with garlic bread and a salad. I opted for the house Italian dressing, same as the dressing on the Antipasto salad. The dressing was amazing. Need I mention, the pasta was heavenly. So creamy and good. The salads and bread yummy also. The quality of the food is like Olive Garden USED TO BE. And the price is much better also. The place is spotless and the food was made fresh. My hubby loved it. Lucky thing I bought it for him and not for myself since this is the kind of food that puts pounds on the hips. . Update posted. Apparently my family wasn't keen on the quality of the chicken in this dish after all. So we dine-in to keep an open mind. Of the four dishes we ordered, only the pizza was good. Take out order so as we arrive home to serve is when we noticed. Julie's wedding soup was delicious...good comfort food! Ordered cheesy garlic bread. It was good but honesty the regular garlic bread was just as good, maybe better without the cheese to distract the garlic. My son had Lasagna, fantastic! He said it was one of his favorite lasagnas and he's a lasagna connoisseur. Nice, tangy red sauce and very meaty. My wife and I have chicken piccata and Shrimp fettuccini. So this is my first experience and observing the restaurant the floors, tables and glasses were dirty, overheard the waitress who advised a customer they can not have a split check with a coupon then, the rationing of the bread, the waitress' dirty finger nails. I witnessed a waitress cleaning tables where she took the Parmesan cheese off the tables and poured it into one large container. Our food has finally arrived and on a clean plate. This WAS our favorite Italian food restaurant. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience a few days ago (10/11). We ordered our usual "Chicken" fettuccini family meal for pickup (order placed with Vincent) when I returned home I noticed the fettuccini didn't have chicken so, I called and he acknowledged that it was their mistake. After about 20min of waiting on the phone I spoke with Vanessa, she said all they can offer is a SIDE of chicken. Seriously!!! A SIDE OF CHICKEN!! I let her know that it was their mistake and now my dinner is cold, how is this helpful!? she was giving me a difficult time. I understand mistakes happen, but at the very least replace the fettucini with the CORRECT order. She said I will need to return the incorrect fettuccini and they will make a new one. So I did.. Here's the worst part - while I was serving my family I noticed a short dark HAIR in our fettuccini (my hair is light) my husband also noticed the sauce was watery, so GROSS!!! We had to throw the fettucini in the trash. Something didn't seem right. Our dinner was ruined. The way they handled their OWN mistake is beyond me. I have returned 4 times and unfortunately each time got worse.. from forgotten appetizers to bread that had bite marks and the garlic topping was eaten off. Last visit our family of 4 on February 28th, wedding soup extremely salty and gross, a hair in my sons salad and my husband meal was just luke warm. We went around 4 pm before the crowd but it still took a long time to get our food, and the bill came before we could order desert. This place was more hype than true; they play marketing tactics of having people line up while there were lots of seats available in the back room. Not right to have people line up in the cold evening outside. I was there for Valentine's Day dinner last night. I got there about 5:45 and still was in waiting list and yelp wait list told me to be back at 6:35 but when I got back, I still had to wait another 30 mins to be seated. The food was okay and the garlic bread was delicious. However, when we were asked if we wanted more bread and we said yes, the waitress plopped some leftover from another basket into ours. It was a bit odd: we were not sure if someone had already touched it before, so we requested for fresh bread. It came after some wait. The manager was also a bit choosy to whom she paid attention to - very nice to the white people next to us but did not care much about us Asian looking folks. Just an observation! Meat lovers, I got two words for you... The Sicilian. A pizza matched by no other, the Sicilian is topped with spicy sausage, pepperoni, mozzarella, garlic, basil, and oh yes, magic! Another decadent dish is cheese-filled tortellinis with a sun-dried tomato sauce that melts in your mouth. There's also a health food menu for those who can resist such indulgences, but rarely do I get anything but these two dishes when visiting my sweet baby Cannataro's. Our first time trying. The best thing we had there was the free garlic bread. We had to wait a long time to get our garlic bread cause it was still baking, but I would say that it was worth a wait since bread was light and fluffy. I might possibly go back there just to eat the garlic bread, but nothing else. We had linguini with clam sauce and fettucini salmon alfredo. Linguini with clam sauce was good enough, but salmon in fettucini alfredo was so fishy, so if a fish that's not supposed to be that fishy is fishy that means the fish is not fresh (I almost wrote a tongue twister here) I did not like my dish at all! The soup that everyone was talking about "wedding soup" was just an ok soup, not something that I would go back there for. The staff was nice and friendly (a 4 star), but the food was just 2 - 21/2 star. You would have to twist my arms to make me go back there. read more

We had a few dishes here to try and we were definitely not impressed. We had their artichoke jalapeño dip which was probably the best dish we ordered. There was nothing else we were impressed with. I ordered the fettucini alfredo with chicken. The pasta and the sauce was pretty tasty but the chicken was bland and the only thing that gave it flavor was the sauce. I can't remember the dish my wife got but it wasn't worth remembering anyways. No complaints about the service. While I wouldn't call this place bad and I'm glad we gave it a chance I certainly wouldn't come back. read more
