We've been loyal regulars at Cannons for about 3 years, coming in at least once a week. It's always been one of our go-to spots, largely because of the incredible bartenders--Tammy, Sam, and the rest of the staff are truly the best and a huge reason we kept coming back. Unfortunately, the experience has taken a noticeable downturn under the new manager, Charles. We recently brought a group of friends to watch the World Cup and had a table for six. When one friend left and another arrived to take their place, Charles refused to let our friend in, claiming they were at capacity (see photo). Meanwhile, he allowed a completely separate group of six to walk right in without hesitation during the same time window. When one of our friends tried to calmly explain that our group size wasn't increasing--we were simply swapping one person out--his immediate reaction was to threaten to kick out our entire group. It wasn't even a conversation. We weren't sure if he realized we were all together (and regulars), so I also tried to explain the situation myself. Instead of listening, he doubled down and again said he could have all of us removed. Even more frustrating--the bar was not crowded. There were clearly empty tables, open barstools, and even a table for six sitting with only two people. His decisions on who could come and go felt completely arbitrary and selective, with no explanation or consistency. To make matters worse, this all happened in front of our friends--people we had specifically brought here because we've raved about Cannons for years. It was honestly embarrassing to have talked this place up so much, only to have them witness that kind of treatment firsthand. This wasn't an isolated incident. On a previous visit, Charles told us he couldn't refill our water at the bar because it "wasn't his job"--something that has never been an issue before and frankly makes no sense from a hospitality standpoint. During the World Cup situation, he also told us he didn't care if we never came back. After years of being consistent, respectful, and frequent customers, this is not the level of treatment we expect. It's disappointing to see such a stark decline in service, especially when the issue is clearly coming from management--not the staff we've always appreciated. It's honestly not surprising that the bar Charles previously managed down the street shut down. Tammy and Sam continue to be fantastic, but one person in a leadership role can completely change the experience--and not in a good way. We love Cannons, but until there's a change in management, we won't be returning. Thankfully, the new Old Monk opened a block away. To the leadership of Cannons--please let us know when Charles is gone.

My husband and I got up from our post-work nap and realized there was no way I was cooking at 1 AM. Based on reviews and a friend's recommendation, we decided to check out Cannon's Corner Irish Pub--and I was blown away by how good it was, especially for a late-night spot. It's only three minutes from our house, and after this experience, we'll definitely be regulars. The bartenders were friendly and approachable, setting a great vibe right from the start. We started with the duck wings, and they were absolutely delicious. For our main course, we both went with the fish and chips from the late-night menu, and let me tell you--the portions were huge! We're already planning to come back for Super Bowl Sunday and, honestly, any random night of the week. If you're looking for great food and service late at night, this is the place to be!

I came here after seeing the a friend post the egg nog flight and knew I needed to try it. I came during lunch time (don't judge me, it's 5 o'clock somewhere) and was surprised that they have lunch specials however I was informed that they were out of the mix however was expecting more later in the day. I called later in the day to confirm they had it before going back and we informed they indeed had it. I arrived at the restaurant and was told to sit anywhere I would like. I took a seat and waited for some time before someone finally came to the table. I placed my order for the flight as well as the cod taco and the boneless wings. I was told that the wings weren't too spicy however upon biting into it, it was entirely too spicy for me. The egg nog flight was okay but I can't say that I would order it again. However the cod taco was absolutely delicious and had me wanting to go back the next day for another one. This is a cute pub that would make a great hang out spot. By the way, the gingerbread was my favorite!

Strawberry margarita not on menu but created just for us!

Bartenders were super friendly (didn't harass us bc we were from far away), drinks were delicious, place was clean. Not too dark, and they had lots of options on their menu!! Certainly would stop by again!!

Good food, crap ambience for St Patrick's day. We came in at 7:30 or so, DJ with hip hop played for 30 mins. One Irish song, then hits from the 80's. Featured entree's not available after 4:00 pm (corn beef & cabbage stack, Irish breakfast). Sheppard pie, bangers and mash, and salad were all excellent, five stars for the kitchen. Heading to a different pub now ¯\(°_o)/¯

Came here for of course, st paddy's day and can't believe i didn't know this place was so close to me. They had a DJ when you entered and a large selection of beers, Irish and from other locations. They had multiple bartenders working that day and i had near no wait to get a drink. It wasn't overly loud even for st paddy's day and i was able to converse easily with my friends i was with. They have an outside patio area as well and seems like a great place to go for spring and summer months

Dark, noisy pub atmosphere inside. All small round counter-height and 4-top square tables inside were occupied. Although they had misters on over the patio tables; it was too hot (100F+) to sit on those outdoor tables. Plenty of small outdoor tables unoccupied at 6:30 pm. No host/hostess was present but a couple of waitresses came to start us with drinks. Draft and other beer, wine and alcohol choices were available. Guinness of course. All 3 of us ordered the fish (cod) and chips plate for our dinners. The 2 piece plate $14, the 3 piece plate $17. The large plank fries ( chips) were great. They were cooked crisp and served hot. Excellent, beer-battered and generous-sized, chunky cod pieces. Best fish n chips ever! I didn't check out the restroom. Trivia night was being played. The microphone was difficult to discern. Plenty of ambient noise from the tables and bar stools made it practically impossible to hear the conversations at our small and intimate table. I will return (with earplugs) perhaps to try their Kuby's sourced German plate. Definitely will be back when I crave an excellent fish n chips.

Hopefully this location can get it together, but I think I'll be braving traffic for the Henderson location from now on.

A glass of Smithwick's draught beer, and a snack from the excellent menu brought me here, as well as the joyous & vibrant crowd. A live Irish band was setting up on the stage, but I had other things scheduled for my Saturday night. For now, college football was on the bigscreen above me, staff was busy with all seats along the bar taken, and I looked thru the amazing food menu of Irish & UK style dishes, with some San Patricio dishes from Mexico! The San Patricio Brigade of the Army of Mexico in 1846 were Irish conscripts that deserted the US Army invasion into Mexico due to Protestant American officers not allowing the Irish troops to attend Mass in the Mexican cathedrals. Then, most of the Irish "deserted", to defend Mexico from this invasion dreamed-up by U.S. President Polk to create more new States for Dixie to expand (Polk was a slave holder). The Irish ran the line of cannons for Mexico to win one battle, but Mexico was running low on bullets & supplies by now, and doomed for a loss. (If the Irish had just waited 2 more weeks, it would have been over with). Alas, the US Army quickly executed 30 of the Irish San Patricios in a mass hanging, while a group were hot-branded a letter "D" on their faces for "Deserter". (If seen again in USA, anyone could hang them) However, an untold amount escaped into the hills of Mexico, and married into the families. The Saint Patrick's Brigrade has a monument in Mexico. And USA gained the territory that Polk wanted, while a junior Congressman named Lincoln shook his head, yet had plans of his own. Meanwhile, Mexico would have another revolution in 1910, and a young Irish Mexican boy would enter USA with his family to end up in Los Angeles where young Anthony Quinn became a promising young architect, married a 35-year old woman who arranged acting lessons for him, giving the movie industry a macho man star. I don't think Harwood Arms was prepared for how many people were going to show up- it seemed completely disorganized, chaotic, and just ridiculous. We were sitting down at one of the tables outside in the alley area and the walkway was clear- at first. After the game had actually started, I guess they just let everyone in and the entire walkway was PACKED with people to the point that our once clear view of the TV, was gone in an instant. As the night progressed, obviously a girl has to pee, so as I was walking into the actual restaurant/ pub to use the bathroom and I guess the "bouncer" stuck his arm between me and the door and dismissively said I couldn't go in. Excuse me? After telling him I literally have a table outside, he yanks at his collar and speaks into his little walkie talkie asking if there's a table of 4 outside under my name. Sorry, I didn't know I was watching the Mexico game at the freakin White House surrounded by Secret Agents. Give me a break. So when he magically confirms I have a table (because I do), he lifts up his arm and gives me the ALL CLEAR! It's actually funny looking back at it. But give me a break. When going back outside to sit at my table, the same bouncer/ Secret Agent/ FBI dude gives attitude to my boyfriend and myself for the commotion caused earlier. The actual police officer next to him told us it's ok and to just have a good time. The only nice thing someone said to us and he doesn't even work at Harwood Arms lol. To management, if you do not want people "off the street" to go in and out of your pub or inside to use your bathrooms, then I don't know- maybe come up with a wristband method so your paying customers can smoothly go in and out to use your bathrooms? Just a thought. OR just don't be unwelcoming to people that are actively spending money at your pub. I did visit Bar W a few days after that and had a MUCH BETTER experience-- go there instead.
