It was a Friday night, so there was a bit of a wait, but not too bad. It's been years since I've been here, but my friend from out of town picked it and so we met up. We were a party of 6. When we got to our table, there was no settings (unlike other tables we saw around us with silverware/small plates). It took over 20 minutes before anyone asked us if we wanted drinks, even a water. Apparently, we weren't assigned a server, even though they sat us. We waited a long while, until finally, one of my friends flagged someone down and no one knew who our server was, so the guy decided to take our table. Honestly, I don't know if we should be grateful he offered to serve us, or offended because he didn't really have a choice, no one else was going to serve us they were "busy." Anyways, the food was mediocre. I liked mine (steak quesadilla), but the rest of the table was unimpressed and disappointed. They said the food used to be so good before and now it's like they cut corners everywhere. Came out cold or smaller than anticipated. I was content with my order of adult beverage and steak. Not, sure if I'll make another trek out to this place though. Had it not been a whole table of friends who picked this place, I probably would have walked out and took my business elsewhere. Cantina Laredo bills itself as "gourmet Mexican food" and overall succeeds in bringing an elevated experience centered around this particular dining experience. Cantina Laredo is a chain restaurant that comes off as Mexican or more appropriately, Tex-Mec with sixteen locations in seven states. The food is a bit Americanized, but still good. For a chain restaurant, I have to commend them that they keep the food at a consistent quality level. My server here was helpful and professional. The ambiance of this establishment is chic and modern, but I don't really equate it to a Mexican restaurant. Maybe I am just used to those local hole-in-the-wall type mom-and-pop Mexican restaurants. Taking into account that Cantina Laredo has a business model that is meant to offer a more Americanized menu than other Mexican or Tex-Mex type places, I will give it five stars. If you want authentic, go elsewhere, but if you are looking for a nice dinner out in a nice setting, this particular location of Cantina Laredo is a good enough option. read more

I went here with my friends for a celebration. We made a reservation for about 16 people and they were very accommodating and sat us all out in the patio, which was very nice. We enjoyed the atmosphere more being outside than being crowded inside. The staffs are very nice and well mannered. I ordered the blood orange blossom for a drink, and the three tacos dinner. One taco was carnitas, another steak, and one chicken. Before the food came out we got chips and dips which was good. The blood orange bliss was really good! I truly enjoyed the drink! When the food came out I was impressed with the presentation and the food looks delicious. However, when I ate it, I was not impressed. It was ok. I didn't enjoy the tacos as much. The variants were dried, the steak seemed a little overcooked, and the chicken was probably the best one. I did not like the taco tortillas. I ate more of the filling and left the tortillas. The beans were good and the rice was decent. Overall, this place was ok to me. The food was mediocre, not good but not bad. read more

The place was not that crowded on a Friday night, we got a table right away with a party of 5, the waitress was nice enough to get us our chips and salsa right away along with our drinks. The chips are so crispy and I couldn't get enough of it. Entree: I ordered the steak Fajitas, cooked and served right on the skillet, it was sizzling when they brought it out, smells and tastes amazing. Another great Mexican joint, only downside is that it's smack dab in the middle of Town Center craziness. If you're shopping (or returning) in town center, you're likely to need an alcohol. First, salsa and chips can tell you a lot about a Mexican restaurant- and this was a great start. Salsa has great flavor, is not over spiced (hot) and can be enjoyed by anyone (even kids). Chips are light, crispy and not greasy at all (unsalted). I ordered the crispy ground beef tacos, sour cream chicken enchiladas and chicken/beef combo fajitas. I started with the tacos and said "humm" (in a great way) at my first bite. First time I've had a taco in Fl that reminds me of Dallas - awesome. Refried beans are tasty. The rice is perfectly seasoned but was cold in just a few minutes (even on a hot plate). The sour cream enchiladas are outstanding! My first bite made me close my eyes and savor the moment. I had 3 bites before I could stop and make notes (LOL). I needed extra sauce, but that's the way I like them. The fajitas have a good flavor but the chicken was dry like cotton. No moisture and even after you put everything in the tortilla, you can still tell the chicken is dry as you chew. Grilled onions and peppers were normal as expected. The wacamole is nice and made fresh. (Might add a little lime juice next time.) The ranchero beans that come with the fajitas are tasty with a very slight amount of heat on the finish. Unfortunately they were no longer hot since they were the last thing I tried. (Not their fault.) Atmosphere is very nice - lots of wood, comfortable booths and spacious. For starters, there are chips served with salsa that were very tasty. There are dips including Top-Shelf Guacamole, Chili Con Queso that are ordered separately as the chips can be refilled at no extra charge. We ordered the Crispy Carnitas Bowl which consists of Pork, cilantro, lime, rice, black beans, corn, jalapeño, pico de gallo and chipotle wine sauce for only $9.00. It had the right amount of crispiness and the mix of ingredients was on-point. For the Especialidades (Specialties) we asked for the Camaron Poblada Asado, a yummy mix of shrimp, mushroom, jack cheese, stuffed poblana pepper wrapped with a fire-charred skirt steak with chimchurri sauce charred street corn and cilantro lime, and is worth every bite for the price of $24.50. For postre or as we say dessert, we had the Mexican Apple Pie, served in brandy butter with Cinnamon Ice Cream for $7.50 Yum! I used to love coming here, but it's been a couple years since I had been. I figured I'd pop in for lunch on a girls day. I forgot to take a picture of the food because I dug in too fast! Of course I was overwhelmingly surprised, The tacos were full of diverse flavors between the hardy meat, zesty cilantro tossed tomatoes, and rustic corn topped with a creamy slice of avocado. The cheese was very authentic and the rice was jam packed with seasoning and the beans were creamy! The quesadilla was very similar and the complementary guacamole on the side was a very nice touch! On a Sunday afternoon we were seated quickly but had to move tables because they initially sat us near the bathrooms and the smell of bathroom cleaner was overwhelmingly powerful. We're then moved to a booth where the seat cushions were completely torn to shreds. The server was nice and fairly attentive. Ordered chips and queso, which reminded me more of broccoli cheddar soup. My taco plate was excellent, that alone would be a solid 4 stars. But when we paid the tab our credit card went missing. Like really?
