We stopped by and got a great welcome from the staff there with warm smiles and the amazing decorations inside and outside. To start off this place opened up not too long ago and it's the talk of the town! Just by walking in and immediately being greeted by Jade the host gave a positive first impression. The place and the decor is amazing! The feel of this place is good vibes all around We were sat at our table and were asked whose birthday it was we celebrated. ( put it on a note on the reservation) they wished my parented a happy birthday! The waitress Sam was super sweet. I asked her about drink recommendations but ended up going with a frozen margarita. I also ate the carne asada tacos and some chips and salsa. The food was amazing!!!!! If you're coming for a meat place with bomb food come here! The service was also top noch. Lots of picture worthy decor/ background. So we had went here yesterday but they weren't taking anymore reservations or walk ins since it was packed. We decided to make a reservation for today on open table. Our reservation was at 5:30 and still had to wait 15min for our table. I get it, they were slammed. Lots of people walking in trying to get in. They really should have had a sign stating they only were taking reservations at this time to avoid foot traffic. We sat down and ordered the following: ceviche, jumbo prawns fajitas, carne asada tacos, mahi mahi tacos, and guac. Ceviche- it was okay. Nice big shrimp pieces. Not too crazy for the sauce. Needed more lime. Guac- needed a bit more seasoning but I love the pomegranate on top. Carne asada tacos- steak was so tender. Perfectly cooked. Great seasoning. Mahi-mahi tacos- my husband liked it but wanted more Jumbo prawn fajitas- delicious! Big prawns with perfect seasoning. Would get again! Food was great! executive chef Jeff even came out to greet us and asked how everything turned! One thing is price though...I think you guys need to just set a price for the plate with 3 tacos with rice and beans. We ordered tacos but it only came with 2. For example, 2 carne asada tacos was $12 and if you want rice and beans with it, there was an extra charge for $5...why not just have 3 tacos with rice and beans for $18. I don't get it. Might be nice to get tacos individually too. Service was okay but they just opened. Servers really need to know their menu and make recommendations. After reading some of the other reviews, I was a little reluctant to come but I'm so glad I still did! Come with a reservation! They're super busy. The decoration in here in soooo cute and fun! Their patio area isn't open for seating bc of how hot it is but ask to if you could check it out anyway.. lots of picturesque backgrounds. And definitely check out the bathroom! The hosts were super nice & quick to seat us. They took our pictures afterwards & hyped us up for smiles. Our waitress, T was the best! Definitely going to request to have her again when I come back. She was very attentive despite how busy she was. She even pre-split our orders in case we wanted separate checks. Everything T suggested was great! We got the chicharron salad, queso birria tacos, cheese enchiladas, shrimp tacos, and chips and guac. Very lively, well curated restaurant with a fun, urban Mexican vibe, 5/5 on decor! Food was actually pretty good, I had a gem salad with grilled shrimp and a tasty honey chipotle dressing. Sort of basic, but actually super good! my daughter had the fillet burrito which she said was pretty good. Take away a star for the slow service though and loud environment. The music was a little loud, and while I like a lively environment, I couldn't even hear my daughter half the time. Also, nothing that management can do about the tables around us, but there was a couple tables with groups that were really loud. Fiesta time at Cantina Tequila! I'm a big fan of Mexican food, and I was excited to try Cantina Tequila in Henderson. The restaurant has a great atmosphere, with colorful décor and lively music. The staff was friendly and attentive, and our food came out quickly. We started with the guacamole, which was made with fresh avocados, tomatoes, onions, and cilantro. It was so good that we could have eaten the whole bowl! For our main courses, I had the carnitas tacos, which were filled with tender, flavorful pork. Had reservations so we could get dinner before a game. The hostess was very friendly and efficient. We were seat at a table that we didn't like and were taken to a booth. Starting with drinks, excellent margaritas served in clay like tumblers with gauchos and other designs really added to the ambiance. we ordered guac & chips too! The chips had a seasoning on them, maybe a chipotle powder & the guac had pickled veggies which was a nice surprise, all 3 of the salsas were a bit to spicy for me so just be aware~ however I am a lightweight Each of us ordered different options from Cheese Enchilada, Burritos, Fajitas, Shrimp tacos (my flour tortilla could have been cooked more) & 2 salads ~ meat comes with the salads however is served on the side, none of us had ever seen that before Everyone cleaned their plates so clearly we all liked what we ordered. Meeting friends for a casual dinner and conversation. Based on Yelp reviews, Cantina Tequila seemed to be a good option. Lots of free parking in the Whole Foods parking lot (and far from Whole Foods, so not competing for spots). The restaurant is in the building of the old Skinny Fats. The counter where you used to order is now a bar. The inside decor is eclectic - very eclectic. In fact, so is the decorating on the patio. Someone had a lot of fun with the interior design here (see the photos). I was disappointed to find that despite the very large bar, they only had a limited number of draft beers (and no IPAs on tap). Our server brought out chips and salsa shortly after we were seated. The chips (called Totopos) were excellent - better than in most of the other Mexican style restaurants I have been to. For our entree, my wife and I decided to share the Jumbo Prawn Fajitas. The portion size is huge so more than enough for two to share. There were six jumbo prawns (and they really were jumbo!) over a bed of peppers and onions, with a side of rice and beans, some guac, sour cream, and pico de gallo. All in all, very tasty. Only gripe - the tortillas a small. With the large portion size, we really needed one more tortilla. We grabbed a passing server to ask for one more tortilla. Nothing came until we had pretty much finished the meal. They then brought out a tortilla carrier with 4 or 5 more tortillas. Too late. But they charged us $5 for the extra tortillas. With good food, service and fun ambiance, I will definitely be back. I will just be careful before I ask for an extra tortilla. read more

Cantina tequila is good food and an experience all in one. There is so much to see inside of this place, wherever you look there is something different to see. There is a mini "show" in the dining room however it wasn't working correctly when we dined in. The drinks were delicious, and the food wasn't bad. The elote was just okay it could've used more cheese, it's also on the spicier side for those that are sensitive. The nachos were loaded high, only thing I wish I had more of is the cheese. It's where the old Skinny Fats was and has one of the same issues; one side is open and the Vegas heat comes pouring in. I completely understand the desire for open air but 80% of the year this is not the place for it Decor is bright and festive but weird. This is another of those spots that fancies itself more a club than a restaurant. Music too loud, staff thinks they are too cool. Party of 4 and we ordered different tacos. They are smaller street tacos but with generous filling. You pay extra for rice and beans. My carne asada was ok nothing special. Carnitas was good. Ambiance is amazing! I love the reference to pop culture in the murals, the fun atmosphere, but the food was sooooo lacking. Queso fundido is supposed to be thick melted cheese with thick vegetables and meats that is flavorful. What I got was a thick cheese sauce with some little vegetables and a dollop of chorizo. The queso birria tacos had absolutely no trace of peppers incorporated or the spice that is the essence of birria. The rice and beans taste like they came from a box. Our waitress seemed very serious the entire time and didn't make much effort to help my parents feel comfortable. She was a Spanish speaker, as are my parents, but continued speaking to them in English even though it was clear they were struggling to understand. The day before, we dined at Yard House, and the waiter immediately switched to Spanish when he noticed, which made my parents feel at ease and confident.
