Clean, friendly, large portions, hot, fast, fresh and delicious! The Cadillac margaritas were perfection! Every meal starts off with a cup of yummy fideo. Shrimp chimichanga was done right and came with rice, beans, sour cream, pico and guacamole. Chili relleno and sauce was out of this world! The shredded beef inside the enchiladas was full of flavor. OMG....This place is 10/10!!!!!! The decor and ambiance of the restaurant is so cute and there was live music, great touch. We had an amazing server she was very attentive and nice. Now onto the food, the sopitos with carne asada were absolutely amazing and super flavorful, The shredded beef taquitos had great flavor and were perfectly crispy, the Fideo soup (which I'm a snob about) was 100/10. One of the best ones I've ever had. I had my nephews and they are picky eaters. They got the cheeseburger and the chicken fingers, all they could do was talk about how good everything was! I want to start with this is now my Husband's and I favorite mexican restaurant! we have been coming here for a while now and I have been trying different plates each time! There has not been one thing that I have ordered here and disliked. Not all items we have tried are pictured, just a few. Ever since Coyotes closed we've been in search of a new favorite Mexican restaurant. This one is close to home. The three of us went for dinner. It's very charming inside and clean. The restrooms were very clean too. I loved the decor. Plenty of room and tables. Our son had the carne asada and he said the beef was amazingly tender. He liked the taste as well. They didn't have a combination fajita for 2 on the menu but said they could do it. We decided to just get our own. I had the shrimp fajita and my husband had a combination of beef and shrimp. The shrimp was small and overcooked. He said the beef was good but there wasn't much flavor to the dish. I absolutely agree. Overall it was very bland. We had nachos with beef for an appetizer. That was the best part of the meal! Very tasty and huge! The meals also came with a cup of soup. It was happy hour so my husband had a blended margarita in a small glass for $8.00. There wasn't any happy hour food specials. The service was excellent. I was going to leave 3 stars but my son says it deserves 4. This is one of those little restaurants that I call a hidden Jewel. I had never known about it nor heard about this restaurant until some friends decide to take us there. The inside is really clean and very colorful. It's great when you have a Mexican restaurant that really embraces the heritage. In addition to that, the food was amazing! I got the two item combo, a shredded beef taco and a shredded beef enchilada. Here's the hot tip, make sure you get both the red sauce and the green sauce on your enchilada. You will not be disappointed! Of course, what would dinner be without dessert. Regardless of where I am in the world, if I am at a Mexican restaurant I have to try the flan. Stopped in for lunch on a Friday to Viva Michoacan. The restaurant has plenty of seating and has a bar at one end. We were seated right away. Stopped by midweek after work, had a refreshing Jamaica hibiscus margarita with chamoy and Tajin around the rim. I had went in thinking I would get enchiladas, but they had a variety of shrimp options, I went with the Bacon wrapped jumbo Shrimp "Abuelito Timo" with rice & beans, spicy creamy dipping sauce, and side soup cup of thin noodle tomato broth (my favorite forgot to take a pic, I could get a bowl of it!) New family run restaurant, super cozy it feels like home, yet also cute lighting for a date, and they have the bar area as well. Service was attentive and they were quick to seat. My mom and I dined here a few weeks ago kind of spur of the moment and boy am I glad we did. We had a 20% off coupon which was the main reason we chose to eat here. WOW! This place was amazing!! So worth the price and ambiance. I ordered 3 CABEZA tacos (cow head meat) and 1 LENGUA taco. The star of the show was the cabeza!! It's soooo hard to find a place that carries it. I called 5-6 different places and ended up here :) this place is a bit better than your average taco place, it's a bit more of family dining and it felt so homey I loved it. Everyone checked on us multiple times, from the waiter (Miguel), to the bussers, host, managers they all checked on us! The chef is the same as the previous location and made the sauce just for us! It was delicious. We appreciate it!! It brought back happy memories. I had the filete relleno. The orange-colored sauce on top was really good and all the seafood parts were cooked just right - nothing over or under cooked. The rice was good - not salty or over-flavored. Fresh avocado and tomato slices on crispy iceberg lettuce as a salad on the side. I ordered an horchata - so good - a churro in liquid form! My husband had the cafe de olla. I am not a coffee drinker at all but I tried it and it was good!! The service was awesome. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time - even with the special request! The decor is cute. Just found this little gem. It just opened a month ago. Ambiance is cute. The bathroom looks like you stepped in Encanto (per my 7 year old daughter). It's very open and not a very big dinning room but spacious enough. You get chips/salsa/bean dip which was so good. We ordered an appetizer- get the Queso fondido!!! It was pipping hot, the cheese was so gooey and it came with a big roasted jalapeño and tortillas. I had the Chile verde plate and my husband had the carne asada. My daughter had the cheeseburger and she said it was the best because it came with extra cheese on it. Portion size was great, the carne asada was cooked to perfection. The gave us this mocahete style salsa as well and it was sooooo hot but so flavorful. I couldn't stop eating it. Service was 10/10. They weren't overbearing but kept our drinks filled at all times, checked on us every 10min or so. The hostess didn't speak much English but she was incredibly sweet and even she came to check on us. I live nowhere in this area but I have a feeling I'll be back multiple times because it's hard to find a good, authentic, low-key, down to earth Mexican restaurant. 05/08/25 LUNCH I moved to Las Vegas in December 2010. Almost immediately I noticed Viva Michoacán near my condo in Henderson, on Sunset Rd but just south of the Mountain Vista curve. I went to that location 3 times before it closed on 05/13/14. I even posted a 5-star Yelp on 06/30/11. A few weeks before this lunch I was excited to see from my car window that it was suddenly reopening, still on Sunset Rd but at the corner of Sandhill, in Vegas. My excitement was because I've been very long-time friends with a woman who ate very many meals at the original Viva and considered it the best of three Michoacán restaurants run by 3 Barajas brothers: Timo at Viva, Javier at the 4 Lindo branches in the valley, and a third brother at Bonito. I liked Bonito the 1 time I went (it's pretty far from where I live), have had inconsistent experiences at all of the various Lindos, and liked Viva before it closed. I'm originally from Los Angeles, so few Mexican restaurants have really impressed me since moving here to Vegas. So, one week after Viva mysteriously reopened after 14 years the woman who loved Viva in the old days took me to lunch there. We were greeted by Timo Jr, then later Timo Sr, who arrived to say hi to my friend. Both father and son recognized her. The son now runs the place, dad helps, mom is in the kitchen, it's a family affair. Next we were greeted by our server Ava, and she was very fun, and very attentive. We swapped Vegas restaurant stories and opinions, her arriving here only recently. We got great chips (thin & crispy), salsa and bean dip immediately. We ordered blackberry margaritas. They were outstanding, because they were the simplest and best way to have them: just tequila, lime and agave syrup. No mixers. She ordered the lunch fish tacos but wanted the fish to be grilled, not fried, and wanted some veges instead of rice and beans. (They accommodated her beautifully.) I ordered the lunch Camarones Viva, which is shrimp sautéed in a Sarandeado sauce (usually spelled with a Z not an S), a traditional Guajillo pepper sauce from the Michoacán region, the plate containing rice, beans, a small salad with guacamole and tortillas, your choice of corn or flour. I looked over the menu and they even had for lunch Carnitas Turicato: pork skins, stomach, shoulder & ribs, marinated in OJ and slowly fried in lard. And Carnitas Michoacán: same thing except just the pork shoulder. The entire menu appears to be truly traditional cuisine from that region. I may have to return for that Turicato! I've never seen that on a menu at any of the other Michoacán restaurants I have visited in Vegas. Next an opener came for the lunch entrees: a vegan fideo soup, using an ingredient only found in Mexico to give it that chicken depth and flavor a traditional version would have. It was wonderful. Next came the entrees. My woman friend swooned. I loved mine, those flour tortillas were obviously made there, and it was so much food I had to take half home. It was definitely the best Sarandeado sauce I've ever had. When it was all over my woman friend said this remains the best of the 3-brothers Michoacán restaurants (she's been going to Lindo DI ever since Viva closed in 2014) and that it was even better than before! I had to concur. I plan to return many times. read more

I am a real customer with a real experience here at this location. I stopped in for lunch the other day and was really happy to see that really good Mexican food with really good flavor is back in this area. I was greeted with some delicious chips and salsa and bean dip.. I ordered the lunch special, which was a fantastic portion, I wound up ordering the pet store with the rice and beans and it was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend it. I thought that the ambience of the place was really nice. I think they did a great job of adding a dash of charm and comfort for a great location like this and I hope that they have great success here. . I found no issues while I was here.
