Hmmm. Well, a great experience last week. The food was okay, not bad, but just not a lot of taste. The service was again okay, but very basic and minimal. Truthfully I don't have high expectations at airport eateries. But my biggest disappointment here was in the cleanliness. We were taken to the first table, where the bench seat was completely covered in crumbs...not a little you'd forgive or brush off yourself...so much so that we had to decline quickly and ask to sit elsewhere. I then watched as a server stood on a table bench seat to clear off the table...only to witness them then grab the table wiping rag, wipe off that bench (where the guy stood) and then finish off the table top with that same rag before placing silverware. Would you wipe off the bottom of your shoes with the table rag? Cuz that's what you're effectively doing there people. Eeek. The floors around the place were all littered, often with full sized fries...not like it was tiny crumbs that could be missed. I've eaten here a couple times in the past and had decent experiences. Even if you don't necessarily bank on repeat business such as an airport restaurant, there are still standards to maintain. Again, the food wasn't bad, but it was very much overshadowed by the scene playing out in the dining area.
For what it is, it is good. Overpriced for sure. But that is everything in an airport and you are kinda stuck eating there. Service was awesome. We had to plane to catch and they were super quick with the food. Fish and chips were awesome that I had and a really good portion for that plane ride. Because all you get there is a lousy bag of pretzels. My family seemed pleased with thier burger and sandwich as well. Ambiance isn't great, but I am not sure how to fix that terminal look. There isn't a whole lot of options on this wing of the terminal but I would say if you have time to sit choose this.
We have eaten here so many times and nearly everything is good. We were here last night for dinner and ordered the chicken caesar salad (great), chicken strips and canucks burger. Everything was delicious and the servers are always friendly and attentive. Even when they get busy they always bring the food out quickly. This is a great place to stop by before your flight!
Once past Security and US Customs, Gayle and I walked into a sizable part of YVR. Unfortunately, there only seemed to be on sit-down dining option - Canucks. As Gayle wanted her Bloody Mary (or Wine) and we were both hungry, we endured a short wait for a table and were seated within a small dining area off the main room. Canucks portrays itself as food-focused sports bar celebrating the Vancouver Canucks hockey team. Their menu offers what you might expect: burgers, salads, seafood, and craft beer. To me, the place had more of a feel of large Midwest coffee shop, of which I've always been comfortable. As the NBA and NHL playoffs were over, a little baseball on the screen was a nice addition to our experience. Our waiter was nice enough, but we found it strange that he kept referring to Gayle and "Love". Overall service though was sometimes hit or miss. I ordered a burger, salad, and beer (I'm trying to avoid fries), while Gayle opted for a chicken Caesar salad. We both agreed that our choices were good, but not exceptional. At the same time, we cured our "hangriness" and were able to relax at the nearby gate before our flight.
Quick bite in Vancouver's airport before departing back home to San Francisco! This place was conveniently located near my gate and had an enticing menu so I gave it a try! I got their ahi tuna poke bowl, with low expectations, this was surprisingly pretty good. I like the sweet sauce they had -- not overused as well. The presentation of the food was gorgeous, and the staff was lovely. Although a bar and grill, not too loud or rowdy, which was perfect in anticipation for my overnight flight.
Very good food, service and atmosphere. I recommend this place for a meal before the flight.
It is one of the best if not the best restaurant in Vancouver International Airport . Maria offered us the best courteous and professional service . She is very diligent and friendly with great skills of customer service. We had sandwiches, poutine and calamari ..... the margaritas were so delicious . Portions are generous and prices affordable . Beers and cocktails are remarkable delicious Will go back soon
Impressive wait staff! The young woman who take our name for the wait list was friendly and patient. The young woman who took care of us at our table (wait was shorter than expected) filled our water bottles, and kept our water glasses full. Both women, like the rest of the staff, wore masks, but you knew they were smiling! Husband ordered the chicken strips & fries and a coke. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Salad. He was disappointed that they had no honey mustard - just mustard, plum sauce or teriyaki sauce. He did like the plum sauce on his strips. My salad was good, but had too much dressing. The chicken was a bit dry, too. The food is okay for an airport location. The absolutely best part of this meal was the service and staff!
Nice sit down place for a hot breakfast on your way out if you have time. Menu is small but has a wide enough selection . Ordered the mushroom & cheese omelets and Avacado Toast. But were tasty Service was prompt and polite. Always important to set the meal off right. One suggestion is that they should have non-pork meat options fior breakfast for those that can't eat bacon. Often our multicultural society is forgotten. Of note, for our Muslim friends, the Smoked meat breakfast is beef but it is cooked in pork fat (as learned from the cook). Would come again.

Fries were awesome, I think they were double fried! Perfect balance of light crisp and soft thick filling (I like my fries less crispy than most). * Canucks Burger - 3.5 stars Decent for the airport, but patty clearly is cooked from frozen. Fries, again, were awesome.
I generally find airport food to be overpriced and mediocre, but the food here was not bad, though definitely still on the pricy side. My friend and I dropped by Wednesday around 3 pm and was seated immediately. The space doesn't look that bad when you first see it, but it wraps around quite a bit and is actually huge. We each started with a drink. He had a pilsner $10.75 and I had a margarita for $13.50. The margarita tasted like it was 90% tequila, but I asked our server and the bartender was able to make it sweeter for me. For food, so we munched on the margherita flatbread ($18.25). It was decently sized and enough for the two of us to have a light snack before our flight. It was on the bland side, so I did have to add some salt, but after that it was pretty good. Our server Carrie was very attentive as well. She checked in on us occasionally and helped us move to another table when it was getting too crowded in our area. Spent a little over $50 for drinks + flatbread for the two of us.
Conveniently located near the gates. It's a sit down restaurant with a good access to the airport screens and sound system so you can't miss any flight information. I had the fish tacos, was fresh and the fish was crispy but it had way too much slaw and not enough sauce. My coworker said there was nothing special about the burger. With the minimal selection of restaurants at the airport it could be worst. read more

Needing some sustenance before our flight to the USA, we managed to find a place that catered to my gluten free allergy very well! Very tasty breakfast, with poached eggs, gf bacon, fresh fruit, and gf toast - oven grilled to avoid toaster cross-contamination! 5 's for their care and attention to safety! They warned us off the potatoes, as they use a flour coating, and the fryer is not gf either. Great to find a safe haven when travelling! read more

The experience at Canucks Bar was a pleasant surprise in the YVR US terminal. Good food, attentive and friendly service, and astonishingly fast. My waitress, Myrna, was very professional and was right there exactly when (and only when) I needed something. I had the Tuna Poke Bowl which was fresh and tasty, and would have been great even by out-of-airport standards. It was a good serving size for me to feel satisfied but not overly full before flying, and was full of healthy stuff. I don't really take any issue with the prices, either. Considering how inflated food is getting these days combined with the fact that it's an airport, $25 for a poke bowl (with a decent amount of fish) isn't terrible. read more

Had a couple hours to kill between flights so I thought I'd give this place a try since I've sat near it so many times. Got seated at the bar immediately despite a decent crowd. Bartender took my drink and food order and I pretty much never saw him again until I asked for my check. The beer (lager from a local brewery) was pretty good. Burger and fries were quite basic. The patty was premade and fairly dry with no condiments. Fries lacked seasoning. Good portions and I was hungry so totalled it anyway. Overall it was a fairly mediocre experience and for $45 incl tip I'll likely try another option at YVR next time I'm connecting. read more

Perfectly fine for airport food. The poke salad was reasonably tasty and reasonably healthy. Prices were not especially out of line given the location. Not a place to expect miracles obviously, but I've definitely had worse. read more
There were plenty of great reviews on Canucks Bar& Grill located in the E terminal at Vancouver airport. I ordered the cheeseburger and fries with a lager. The taste was average in my opinion. Fries had a nice crisp texture and crunch to it. Service was good, maybe I should have ordered the fish and chips. read more

Delicious and tasty food. I got the Chilli sauce fried chicken wings and it was the right zing to the taste. Roast beef dip was fresh and right crunch to the bread. The servers were really attentive and has great personalities and friendly. The female host in need of a root highlight touch-up seemed to be in a terrible attitude and has no enthusiasm to work in customer service. Also was dragging her feet to take me to my table. I think she should try something else. Would give 5 stars, but the servers pulled their weight to earn these today. Just short of a small touch(up) lol read more

the food was fast and the server was nice he recommended this meal based on size but let me tell you this is the most bland 'fish and chips' i ever had. overcooked fries also dont mean they can get away with being called 'crisp' the fries needed flavour too read more

Didn't have a chance to get poutine during my travels but I really wanted to try it and decided to get it here while waiting for my flight home. It was about $12 for the all dressed poutine. It was good, I liked the gravy on it, complaints. read more
Canucks Bar and Grill is in the Vancouver airport at gate 81. Service was friendly but very slow (in an airport). We waited 45 min for our food once we ordered. I had the House burger. Cooked well done, (not my preference) no mustard available - on a brioche bun with red onions, pickles, bacon and lettuce. Coleslaw was cabbage with some onion and with almost no dressing. Coffee was ok SO had the turkey Reuben. Could have used a better grade of turkey, and the bread didn't taste like rye. Overall it was just ok. Yam fries were undercooked and a bit mushy. We didn't finish them. They came with an interesting aioli sauce. Regular fries were done right, crispy and delicious. It's bar food and I wouldn't recommend it especially all the wonderful options in Vancouver. read more

Had a good meal at the airport finally! I got a Bloody Mary (3 out of 5 stars) fish tacos, not a fan of fried but still tasty (3 out of 5 stars) but what was amazing was the steak bits (5 out of 5 stars) can't wait to go back for these bad boys! Till we meet again!! read more

Great food! Great service! Drinks are amazing! So impressed with this place. I am sitting at the bar with my wife thoroughly enjoying this meal and the ability to watch sports at the same time ! read more
