Food: 1.5/3 Service: -1/1 Ambience: 1/1 Food comes in good-sized servings and is very average. Not great but also nothing bad to say about it. Ambience is also exactly what you would expect from a Restaurant/Bar - lots of space for big groups and a social atmosphere. However the service ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS. I came here after work with some coworkers, and not only did it take forever to get service, when we did get it we experienced the following: - I ordered sharable nachos for the table as an appy - it didn't arrive until we all received our mains and had already started eating (so nobody touched the nachos) - Someone at our table ordered coke which never arrived... 3 times. He had to ask *3* times before the server got him his coke. We were already almost on our second drinks by the time he got it. - I asked for a wider straw since my drink was slushy and the straw was having trouble not getting clogged. I made it clear to the server what the problem was and he said he understood. I was then brought a longer straw of the same width... which didn't do anything for the problem. - Servers don't make extra costs known before charging you with it. I was packing up my food and wanted the sauce with it. The server brought me new sauces even for the ones that came in plastic containers already with my food that I could have just put in the box, then charged me for it. Without letting me know beforehand. - Same with bag charge. Wasn't made aware beforehand. - Getting the bill took forever. We were waiting so long for someone to come by that we were getting frustrated. - As a large group we expected the 18% autogratuity as is standard (which is already atrocious for the level of service we got), but lo and behold the bill came which said tip was not included - but the server said he would input it into the machine when we paid. From some quick math when I saw the total on the machine they put in AT LEAST 20%. Again without letting us know. That's shady af. - Additionally, I heard from another co-worker that service is always bad here. They said that they came during lunch break once and the food took an hour to arrive. Keep in mind we only have 1 hour for lunch breaks... I would NEVER come here of my own accord. That was the most horrendous serving experience I've ever had. Absolutely incompetent and shady as all hell. And the food is mediocre af as well. I suggest going literally anywhere else.

Came for TSwift themed drinks and snacks. Had delightful service. Drinks were wonderful. App was a bit salty but otherwise super good. We did listen to 5 Anti-Hero remixes in a row which was just settling but a good time anyway.

My only meal in Vancouver seemed to be a "miss" instead of a "hit", all because I made the wrong turn after getting off the skytrain at Yaletown. Exhausted from walking for hours in the city, I settled for this hotel tavern. All three stars go to the friendly waitress, who took the time to talk to me and recommend items for me. I just wish the quality of food matched her enthusiasm! I ordered the brussel sprouts, which tasted OK but way too salty. The virgin cocktail was nice but was finished in just a few sips. For its location, decor and price, this restaurant has a lot to improve.

Well I am giving this five stars for the amazing service! Our waitress was not only beautiful but friendly, attentive Taryn is her name. But all the staff was just as good! Our food was so tasty. I had the vegetable teriyaki, the vegetables were crisp and fresh, great variety, the sauce amazing! My husband had the fish and chips! Large portion fresh fish with a fabulous sauce! The French fry's were also cooked great not to greasy and served with two sauces and coleslaw. Would recommend this restaurant! If your in Vancouver you should stop by.

Quick with a drunk and the wonderful looking bruschetta came out quickly too! Ambiance is hometown restaraunt meets Cheers!

I've eaten at many other Original Joe's in the past, but never here in Vancouver. My friends were visiting Vancouver for the Drake concert and staying at the hotel attached to OJ's, so we decided to eat and drink here before the concert. I was pleasantly surprised. This location in particular reminded me of a more upscale sports bar. It was quite large and fairly clean. For a Sunday night downtown, I was surprised that we were able to get a table for 12 people right away. Our server came over right away, took our drink orders and dropped off waters. Since caesars were on special for $5 that day, I ordered a double caesar. She was very patient with us and made sure that all our drinks were refilled quickly. She also put the Raptors game on the TV in front of our table when I asked, so I really appreciated that. OJs has a pretty standard sports bar menu - burgers, sandwiches, tacos, poutine, sharing appetizers, etc. I've tried a few different burgers in the past. Please bring back the cajun chicken burger!! That was my favourite! This time around I got chicken tenders with fries and gravy. Compared to other chain restaurants, the portions at OJs are fairly large for what you get. With any of the handheld dishes, you get an option of two sides. Overall, it was a great spot to grab dinner and drink before the concert. I'd definitely come back if I was in the area again.

The lunch avocado salad. Pretty good.

Sooo delicious!…read more Butternut squash ravioli with prawns is a must get. It is pretty heavy so would recommend getting it to share. Ravioli has a great slight chew texture, not mushy despite being a butternut squash puree inside, and HUGE juicy prawns on top. Green goddess salad was a nice balance to compliment the ravioli, super fresh ingredients and great ratio with good amount of avocado. The Bellini slush was basically like a peach ring but not sickingly sweet like peach rings and more refreshing like actual fruit. Can't really taste the alcohol in it but could feel it. The calamari was okay, it could be crispier and have more squid/less dough but the flavor with the slight kick and Sichuan flavor is nice. Just not my preference of texture. The wagyu beef carpaccio was fun to eat and assemble but I would say you're paying more for the experience of assembling the perfect little bite because once you put together everything the beef flavor is sort of masked but I do enjoy the slight tang from the greens and pickled veges in contrast to the buttered bread. The cactus burger was a pretty solid big burger with well seasoned mushrooms, not too salty or greasy. Enjoyed the sweet potato fries and the light fry on them. We also sat outside which has heaters so I definitely recommend as it was less noisy and chaotic compared to inside during dinner time. All the employees are very nice too. TLDR: Get the butternut squash ravioli with prawns to share. Get the bellini as a drink. Burger and fries were solid choices that can't miss.

The customer service was disappointing from the start. Whenever we asked questions about the menu, it felt like our server was annoyed or bothered, which made us feel unwelcome. That seemed reasonable, but instead of a small upgrade fee, I was charged the full price of a side order ($10), which was never clearly explained. I also ordered the chicken wings, and they had a fishy taste that was very off-putting. The wings were also much smaller than expected. Jam Cafe, Vancouver Jam Cafe is my favorite brunch spot. Anywhere. That sounds like an exaggeration. It isn't. I've been traveling to Vancouver for work for almost a decade, and every single trip includes a stop at Jam. If I'm lucky, two. I've also become that coworker who convinces everyone to meet outside at 7:45 in the morning so we can be part of the first seating at 8:00. Thankfully, we're all from the East Coast and have been awake since 5:00 anyway. Over the years I've successfully JAMfluenced more business travelers than I'd like to admit. And yes, it's still worth the wait even if you're not first in line. The restaurant itself is tiny. Cozy farmhouse vibes, mismatched decorations covering the walls, and maybe 15 tables between the dining room and patio. It feels more like someone's favorite neighborhood breakfast spot than one of Vancouver's brunch institutions. The menu is comfort food turned up to eleven. Everything is indulgent, creative, and somehow still balanced. You can tell the kitchen starts with great ingredients because every component tastes like it could stand on its own. I try to branch out every visit... and then usually end up ordering the Tater Tot Bowl anyway. Crispy tater tots, buffalo sauce, Mexican street corn relish, and ridiculously good pulled pork. It's the kind of dish that sounds like it shouldn't work, but every bite somehow gets better than the last. And then there are the cinnamon roll pancakes. They are enormous. They're also one of the best brunch dishes I've ever eaten. Birdfluencer Lorraine M. declared them the best pancakes she's ever had, and after several visits, I don't have much of an argument. Service is exactly what it needs to be. Friendly, efficient, and quick. The staff knows there's a line forming outside before the doors even open, but you never feel rushed. Overall, Jam Cafe has officially become part of my Vancouver tradition. At this point, a work trip to the city doesn't really start until I've had breakfast here. If you're visiting Vancouver and only have time for one brunch, this would be my pick without a second thought.
