In the beginning I was finally happy to find a dentist I could trust, but I was wrong. I went in for my regular cleanings and one day while chewing gum one of my fillings broke off. I went in to get my filling redone and that's where the problem went from good to worse. They worked on it twice and sold me a very expensive night guard. I guess the pain was from grinding my teeth? After selling me a $500 night guard and almost maxing out my dental insurance, they told me I needed a root canal which was going to cost me $2,000 out of pocket. Then, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I was getting screwed! I found another dentist through this awesome app and the problem turned out to be a little chip on my tooth the previous dentist had failed to notice, or did he? I relocated to Riverside and needed a local dentist. I asked them if they will accept X-rays done previously in another practice, they said yes (in written, by email). I took time off work and drove there for an appointment. First red flag - staff with masks under their nose. Then they told me they won't accept the X-rays (without even looking at them). One of the doctor told me there are couple cavity I need to fix, and it's gonna take $407 out of my pocket since I don't have the insurance. I can accept that. But on the day I did the filling, the doctor said that there are couple more cavity needs to be fixed since he did not notice last time, and those are gonna cost around $900. This made me really disappointed. Why didn't the doctor tell me at front all of this？if this is the case, I would purchase the insurance before all of this. And also I have the Invisalign appointment this Friday at other dental, that's gonna be delayed since the filling wasn't clear. I was so disappointed, this is doctor's delinquent, it feels like the doctor doesn't care for his patient at all, it was really unprofessional. It was my first time as a patient at Canyon Crest Dental. The office has update equipment and knowledgeable staff. The hygienist and Brittany who took my X-rays were very sweet and patient. They explained everything that pertained to the treatment of my dental cleaning and concerns with my teeth. Dr. Leoni and his assistant were very professional and gentle with the care of my teeth and answered any question I had. One particular dental assistant whose name I didn't catch seemed knowledgeable, careful, and explained what she was doing when taking X-rays of my teeth for new crowns. However, she became very impersonal and asked me a personal question about my appearance. After I had a chance to think about what she asked me, I found it extremely rude. I'm an honest person and have nothing to hide but I don't think that was very professional of her to ask me about my personal business. She's not a close friend or a family member. Some people just need to mind their own business and just do their job. I don't think Canyon Crest Dental wants that type of mindset representing their business. read more

I dread going to the dentist. I've been with my same dentist since I was a teen, loved him to death however his skills are not as sharp as before so I felt the need to find another dentist. Finding a really good dental practice can be nerve-racking because the only way to actually know if they meet your standards is to actually try them out which gives me anxiety. Over the years my teeth have become very sensitive and I have been telling my previous dentist that for a while. I honestly think it has to do with the assistants who've cleaned my teeth throughout the years. They always make my gums, teeth, my whole mouth feel like it was literally operated on! not to mention my face being splashed with water, pink gunk, and probably other particles while getting it done was not fun. Anyway I was referred to Canyon Crest dental, and it was wonderful experience! staff really eased my anxiety. Dental assistant Tiffany was so personable and sweet. Love..just love my dental hygienist Jerusalem! love her skills, love her name! she did so great, very professional. Explained every step throughly. Numbed me really well, however I did feel the pressure but it wasn't bad. I had my teeth cleaned on saturday it's monday now and they still feel squeaky cleaned! Thank you Jerusalem! The dentist I met for a few minutes, she did find that one of my filings I just redid back in Sept 2020 was missing...oh sad. i haven't done an actually procedure yet but no need too, no cavities! I have been to so many dentist over the years and I get so tired of them trying to rip me off and sell me stuff like night guards for $699.00 My first dentist experience was when I was 15 since my Dad was self employed auto body man we had no Insurance so he bartered for our dental work. I went to canyon crest dental because they were in an upscale part of town and had premium prices which I mistakingly correlated with higher quality dental work. From day one I had an inexperienced dentist do faulty fillings on me which had to be fixed not once but twice, after about four years more fillings that they had done cracked and they did not offer a discount let alone repair them at no cost to me being completely done wrong as my current dentist has shown me. I would have recommended this place to friends and family up to a few days ago. Long story short I had two fillings redone. They were cleaned up by a dentist then the actual fill part done by an assistant. The work was bad. I requested it be redone. The color was dark and the blending from tooth to composite was visible. It was then redone a week later, I've had terrible sensitivity and pain to one of the teeth since. And if that wasn't bad enough I had been waiting on my Invisalign Viverra retainers for over three weeks. The wrong ones were ordered but the office of course couldn't give me specifics as to what was ordered. This required a rescan. Well the assistant dropped the scanner last Thursday. As of yesterday their scanning tool for Invisalign was still broken. I've completely lost all confidence in this office. I hope others have a better experience. Good luck. The biggest problem for this office is that they pass you off to assistants. Simple things like picking up a completed set of retainers took over a week cause I had to wait for a dentist to be available. So go figure. Oh and to reply to your response Dr. Craig M. You should be embarrassed to post something as asinine as you don't see a record of my visit. That just proves how impersonal your practice is. Maybe if you refunded me the almost $5000.00 I've spent out of pocket for orthodontic treatment not covered by insurance it would jar your memory. read more

Dental hygienist rude. She put on gloves and then continue to touch multiple things and when asked to change gloves she refused. Had to ask for another hygienist & watch what she touched. Dr. Merihew didn't try to relieve my anxiety due to unsafe practices, instead excuse was "we go through too many gloves"???? What? What does an additional pair of latex gloves cost in a box of a hundred, compared to losing clients? This Hygienist should be reported. This office cares more about $$, not clients. Pay attention to X-ray tech also touching the computer and then putting their hands in your mouth. They will tell you they have wiped things down, but they should wipe things down in front of you so you can clearly see things have been disinfected! read more

During having a tooth pulled they broke my bridge and chipped my tooth that I just had done a year prior. No I'm sorry and would not replace it or fix it they wanted me to pay for them to fix it. I started using them because of my fear of dentists my first 2 teeth issues were good till they pulled my last tooth then they completely had attitude change no longer friendly. I called and got an appointment at 3. Dr. Merrihew patched me up and I was walking out the door by 3:30. She is SOOO excellent in her profession, gifted beyond mere compitence! I am only becoming comfortable as a new denture wearer BECAUSE OF EVA and her God-given gifts !!!And to make it perfect, she is warm, friendly and caring, as though she considers me one of her good friends, which is exactly my sentiment for HER! I usually don't write reviews on Businesses, but I feel one is necessary for Canyon Crest Dental. I've never been a fan of the dentist because there just not a fun place to be. I hadn't been to the dentist in a good 4 years, because my last dentist always put me in pain. I found Canyon Crest Dental online and did my research and figured I would give them a shot, I'm beyond thankful I did. I told them my concerns before we started, and they assured me I was in good hands and to give them a shot. I've since been there 5 times( my fault for such a long gap from visits ) each time from the moment you walk in to the exam room To the very end its top notch. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. First off, my wisdom teeth removal would've been ~4K without insurance?? That should have been my first red flag. But the staff was nice so I decided to go with it. They're billing department? The absolute worse! They originally told me my copay was going to be $0 for my wisdom teeth removal, but then a few days before my procedure, they said I owed $772? When I pointed out the discrepancy amount the day of my procedure, they said the manager said they could give me a %50 discount and I would only owe $386. I'm like cool, still more than I want to pay, but I really needed to get my wisdom teeth removed. And then THREE MONTHS after my procedure, I get hit with an additional $436.70 bill?? In the middle of a pandemic?? Making my total out of pocket cost $881, something I wasn't not factoring into my expenses at all during these times. After some back and forth with the billing department, they told me that they didn't really refund me, but gave me my Insurance's prorated rate on the anesthesia. WHICH THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE ANWAYS?! I was lied TO MY FACE so I would go ahead with the procedure and then they slapped this bill on me, know I would have to pay it. Don't be fooled by how 'nice' this place is, they're a total scam. No one likes to go to the dentist, but this place makes it much better! They have been in Canyon Crest forever and they have the nicest and from my experience best dentists around! They just remodeled not too long ago and the place is beautiful, plus they have TV's at each chair with wireless headphones for TV or music! If you don't have Dental insurance, which I know a lot of people don't, they have their own Special Annual Dental plans that are really a big money saver!!! read more

I was a first time patient on 12/27/14 my visit then was amazing . They are very through with exams and cleanings . The staff (DA, Hygienist and Dr.Kantor) were so very nice . They office is clean and very pleasing to the eye . Today I had to have 5 fills . Which I was some what nervous about . The assistant came up and got me as soon as I checked in , I didn't have to wait (I was early) ! She sat me down and Dr. Kantor came right in . They did air abrasion to remove decay in which I couldn't feel a thing and I didn't even have to get numb . Everything went smooth and I left very happy ! I used to work at a dental office and I have seen the good, bad and ugly of what goes on . But this office seems to have it together . Great place to be for dental needs. Just found my home dentist after years of looking. Great environment and great staff. Very accommodating and knowledgeable. Had an appointment further out but they were able to get me in sooner. No shame no guilt just friendly and knowledgeable staff that want to help me get my dental needs met. Great hygienist too. She spent extra time getting the areas that needed more attention. I was shy because I feel my teeth could look better. Would definitely recommend this place read more
