The ophthalmologist does not know how to check the eyes properly. And the person putting the frame and the glasses together is careless. They just want your money and they won't correct their mistakes. I have been wearing eye glasses for many years and I have not had this experience before. I got new eye glasses and they were giving me a lot of problems. I called and complained once they said I just need to get used to it. I called again and went in this time and they said the frames were crooked. I should be fine they said after adjusting the frames, but I was still having issues. I went in again they charged me because 6 months has passed. I wore those glasses only couple of times because every time I put them on I feel nauseous, the cars seem closer to me than without the glasses, I get headaches, eye strain, and distorted vision when I look to right or left to make a turn. I started looking youtube videos and learned that if during an exam the phoropter is not sitting right on the face then the doctor can get a wrong reading. I also learned that if a person astigmatism and the lenses are not centered then one can have issues seeing properly. None of this was checked and was not explained to me. I called the insurance company and complained to them and now I have to find another ophthalmologist to get new glasses and again pay out of my pocket whatever they don't cover. What a hassle. Be careful who you choose so you don't go through this pain like I did. read more

I didn't get my glasses here but I will get my next pair here. What I did get was an AMAZING gift of caring and diligence that saved me a lot of money. I got some expensive glasses in January and the plastic (I usually get metal) frame broke in October. I tried to fix them, no good. So I called around and found out Canyon fixes glasses. I took them in, Roy examined them and said the frame couldn't be fixed, but there might be a donated frame that would fit the lenses. I'd been totally frustrated trying to get the original optometrist to call me back, so I left the glasses with Roy, called the next day, and discovered he'd transferred the lenses to a new frame. Went in to pick them up - great looking frame - NO CHARGE! What wonderful people, I'm SOLD. read more

The doctor had an attitude and bad breath. She was mad because they had to remake my glasses. Apparently the lady in the front that smelled like beer entered my prescription wrong. The man gave me someone else's glasses and told me to try them to see if I could adjust to them, then he figured it out. This place was the worst I have ever been to. read more

I've been coming to Canyon Eye Center for over 15 years. I moved out of state a year and a half ago, and I'm back again just to have my annual eye appointment and get some new glasses. The staff is incredible. Roy goes out of his way every time to repair or fix your glasses. Obviously I could get glasses anywhere but the people and the products make it worth coming back year after year-even from out of state! read more

Lied about my child being in Network after my appointment then said I had no Insurance only a discount (never heard of a discount) coke to find out I was not in network so they charged me full price. She should be fired for the stress and many phone calls she has caused me! I pay for insurance to stay In Network with all my Dr's why would I choose one that is out of network! I believe Roy Johnson was the optometrist who fixed my son's broken glasses. I can tell you this was not the first time walking into the optometry office with repairing my kids glasses and not once we were turned away. He replaced it with a loaner frame and did not charge us. The original glasses were not even purchased from him. He is an angel! I highly recommend this place. You could not meet a more helpful optometrist and kind hearted individual. Thank you! read more

So to complete my last review, my glasses did come in on time and I was pleased. 5 stars. I returned to this office for new glasses twice since then. I am currently waiting for my computer glasses to come in. I ordered two pair which should have been in two days ago. When I called yesterday I was told only one pair were delivered. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one and leave the rating at 5 stars. Mainly because I've brought in sunglasses that needed repair and they have always put a lens back in or put a screw in the arm and never charged me. And these were my personal sunglasses that I did not purchase from them. I consider that to be good customer service. I'm going to give them until Monday to get my glasses. Many problems with this place! First off, the appt. to check my vision took 3 tries. Each time I came back, she said my vision changed, and I came back every week! She kept giving me glasses which were all blurry. Then she finally says my eyes are dry and it changes my vision each time. Second, the receptionist is GRUMPY. That's our nickname for her. She never smiles, never welcomes you, and everything you ask her is an inconvenience for her to answer. And third, they lied when ordering replacement lenses. Said it would take within the week, turned out to be over a month! They never called, not once. I had to call VSP numerous times and filed about 5 complaints. They even lied to VSP. Dont bother coming here. They are rude, and very unprofessional. I dont think the opt. even has a real license. She seems to know nothing. A bunch of grumpy people with no customer service. I should have read the other reviews before going here. Simple reading glasses, which I was told would take a week, took over a month. Never received a courtesy call to tell me it would take longer. Called over a month later, guy on the phone says they must have just come in. Never again! read more

3 months to get a pair of glasses that still have to go back to the service provider for the wrong prescription in the left lens. Bifocals. I explained this multiple times. The lower left bifocal was off at first. So back they went. The frames were broken at the lab. So they got replaced. Then the new lenses would not fit the replacement frames. Lab again. Back they went. Then the correction had not been made to the lower left bifocal. Explained it all again. Then they made that correction to the top part of the lens. Now the entire left lens is completely out. Oh and when they say "we'll call you when the glasses arrive!" Don't be misled. I cannot believe so many mistakes can be made. Of course, this is bound to be the customer's fault. Patience has run out. Protested to the 3 month wait, asked for an apology which was reluctantly given followed by an "it is what it is!" statement. Really. Great customer service attitude. read more

Last time I was there they even told me that my prescription hasn't changed and I didn't need to get new glasses. How honest is that? I tried to get fitted for contacts here but the lady made it seem like SUCH A HASSLE. She seemed inconvenienced that I wanted their business! Ridiculous! Also, they do not take prescriptions from other optometrists for contact lenses. They require that I set up another appointment (and pay more) to get yet another checkup to fill another prescription to fit me for contacts! Don't bother coming here. They throw all these bogus "necessary" appointments to get more business. I'm not gonna fall for them and neither should you. read more

Went in for a simple hinge repair. They had glasses for weeks, not days. I had to keep calling since nobody called to tell us that they had finally been repaired. On top of all this the glasses were still a little off and then I noticed that they had replaced one side of the glasses with a piece that did not match the original frames (different size & color). These were expensive frames. I called to inquire about this and left messages. I was hoping they would make good on this legitimate problem. They never returned any of my calls. My advice is to stay away from this place. read more

Stay Away!!!!!! This place is horrible. Receptionist is always moody, it took them about a month and a half to have my glasses ready. They didn't even bother to call me when they were ready, I called them. When I picked them up the frames were all scratched, so I asked them to change the frames which took them another month and a half. Do not waste your time on this place read more

I went here for contact lenses and first they told me my eyes didn't need any vision correction, which I knew wasn't true since I have been wearing glasses for the past year, I came back a few days later with my glasses rx and asked them to give me contacts that would be comparable to the glasses. They seemed very annoyed with this but fitted me for contacts and charged $150 to educate me on contacts and teach me how to put in and clean my lenses. About a week later I had a bad reaction to the contacts when I put in my eye drops (visine a) my pupil dilated for 8 hours! The next day I called and asked to see the doctor about this and after a long battle with the receptionist, who tried charging me for an emergency visit, I finally got to see the doc and asked her about the issue. First she didn't believe me and after I showed her pictures she said I should have asked her during my fitting what kind of eye drops to use with my contacts. Excuse me, but wasn't the $150 contact education supposed to cover this? Overall, a very very bad expirience. I got my written rx and taking my business where it's appreciated. read more

Bad and totally dishonest. I came here because I wanted an exam with an actual opthamologist because I'm diabetic. Well, the dr. wasn't in so they had the optometrist give me the same exam. She's his wife. They billed my medical insurance company and my eye insurance( VSP). I called them to try and get them to fix it and they would not reimburse my medical insurance company. Totally unethical. I'll never go back, in fact I now go to Santa Clarita Family Optometry. She's amazing. read more

Been going here for a few years but the customer service has been bad the last year. Even though the insurance policy I have states that i'm eligible for one pair of new frames a year I was told last year that I wouldn't be eligible until Jan. 2016 so I called two days ago (I wanted to make sure plenty of time passed) and was put on hold for 10 minutes and then the call was "dropped". People here dont seem to enjoy there jobs which I dont blame them for but need more improvement on customer service.

I was not originaly a regular patient there, however I went recently to get a second opinion about a blurry vision condition preventing me from working. Dr. Latto was completely supportive and empathetic of my situation. I was so pleased by how much he and the rest of the staff cared about me and wanted to be helpful. Dr. Latto even made an extra special effort in writing a detailed letter to my insurance company. The rest of the staff also went out of their way to communicate and be helpful. I will be recommending Canyon Eye Center to everyone I know. Good and caring businesses should be supported. read more

Three stars because the optometrist was super nice (otherwise, one star would be more apt). The supporting staff, especially the receptionist, not so much. The receptionist seems to go out of her way to be rude, curt and downright unfriendly!!! I was told that I would receive a call when my glasses are ready in about a week. However, I had to call after hearing nothing after a week, only to be told that my glasses had been ready for a while. When I picked up my glasses, I asked to be given a copy of my prescription. I left empty handed. When I later return for the prescription and asked for adjustment of my new glasses, same receptionist dismissively told me that I would have to wait at least 30 minutes for a simple adjustment. I usually go to Costco for my optical needs, but, for some stupid reason, decided to try somewhere different for a change. BIG MISTAKE!!! After this experience, I have developed an increased appreciation for COSTCO. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!i read more
