We lived our stay here. What a beautiful place and they are expanding. It is in a very small town. All around the views are gorgeous. Our room was perfect with a balcony we enjoyed in the evening. There's a bell room with a washer and dryer, even a couch while you wait and AC. The check in service was great. In the morning on our way to breakfast we were asked about our stay. There's a breakfast buffet which was included with room. I'm so glad bc there's not a lot around town and everything closes pretty early too. There's also a gift shop act the front desk. The pool and hot tub are amazing indoors with large windows displaying the beautiful red rock and great outdoors. There's a pretty stone shower and restroom La are available le there too. In the same building is the gym and a beautiful sitting area with a fireplace and even a dining table. It's all around gorgeous. read more

My husband and I travel from Arizona to Colorado at least a dozen times a year and we only stay here. We love the individual cabins and when traveling with family the larger cabins are perfect! If you are lucky enough to stay while their restaurant Duke's is open I highly recommend eating there for dinner. The breakfast is better than any I have ever had and the staff are all friendly and always helpful! I promise you cannot go wrong when staying here. read more

Super cute spot to stay on the Rez. I wish the amenities stayed open later like the washer/dryer and ice machine. The room we stayed in was nice and clean. I recommend better pillows though, we had like a million pillows on the bed but they were all small and thin. I would say hit the chair with a green machine because it seems stained, as well as the lamp shade was stained too. We had a toy roll under the drawers and it def needs a good vacuuming as it has other items under there too that we're not from us. It would be nice to have a little night light in the room as it's pitch black, we stayed with our toddler and had to keep a lamp on at night to see anything. Continental breakfast is decent, I'd like to have seen Apple juice since OJ is super sugary for kids. The WiFi is awesome! The TV channels are super basic so I'd recommend maybe install streaming Apps for guests. The staff is super nice and they all seem to like being there. This is a fantastic place to stay in Bluff--it has the feel of a lodge. The rooms are spacious and quiet, offering plenty of comfort. There's ample outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful southern Utah weather. The soaps and shampoos are a step above the usual hotel quality, and the towels are soft with plenty of pillows provided. The beds are comfortable, and the entire place is clean and tastefully decorated. We'll definitely be staying here again. read more

We had a great stay at the Dessert Rose. Beautiful hotel, great room. There are very little places to eat at in Bluff, so it's great Dukes is attached, but pricey. Loved going to Sand Island and seeing the petroglyphs. Monument Valley is about 45 minutes away. Ask the front desk for directions to a hidden treasure, Wolfman Panel Petroglyphs. read more

The stay here was very comfortable, and relaxing. The rooms are decorated very cute, and cozy feel. The room we had came with a small coffee maker to brew in the morning. A small living space with a loveseat, and chair. The room was clean. They provide shampoo & conditioner in small travel size, tissue box, hand soap, charging station on the front porch. Very convenient & pleasant stay. In the lobby they had fresh brewed coffee, and nice selection of tea! Front desk person was pretty nice. Desert Rose Resort & Cabins went above and beyond the call of duty. When we left we forgot our camera battery and charger in the outlet. We went 100 miles before we remembered it. We called the Resort and told them our issue. They said they would keep it for us and we would send them a self addressed box to return them. When we got home they did just that. The day they received the box, they placed it into the mail. Beyond that our stay was wonderful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. read more

The resort is gorgeous - the scenery doesn't hurt the eyes either. Rooms were very nice, beds and pillows were beyond comfortable. I will say that I really don't understand how for the amount of money they don't provide any type of food or snack; additionally, the coffee and tea in the room were less than great (also didn't have enough sugar and creamer). read more

Wow, this place is amazing. We ended up booking a cabin and it was awesome. Clean and spacious. We sat out on the patio enjoying the evening when a coyote came strolling by. It continued on its way but it was cool to see. The road noise sometimes came through but being in the cabin and not having to worry about neighbors making noise was nice. read more

I really liked this hotel. The pool is great. Be careful when you check out. They don't call or come to your room, you get charged a whole day. We were in the pool and lost track of the time on our checkout day and payed for a whole day without staying. Our plans were not flexible otherwise we would have stayed another night. We stayed her twice in our recent cross-country drive west. Once on the way out and then again on the way back from California. We stayed in Cabin 2 on the way out and it was perfect, comfortable and in a wonderful, idyllic location. Dukes Restaurant was also very good despite not being able to buy a glass of wine, we had plenty back in the cabin. :-) On the way back we stayed in Cabin 1 which was identical except for the AC unit which was well past its prime and so incredibly loud that I could not sleep. I managed to turn the blasted thing off and use the ceiling fan, which helped. Otherwise the rating would have been 5 stars. read more

There has been a huge investment in this property in recent years. A well-appointed addition features great large rooms that are quite nice. The restaurant looks nice, but every time we are in Bluff, it's closed. The owners might consider investing similarly in customer service. If Dukes is closed for the off-season, say so in your website. Housekeeping will knock on your door at 7 am. Really? Other than the two packages of in-room coffee, there is no coffee to be found. Really? The coffee maker is the same cheap model that you'd find in a Super 8. Really? This place could be so much nicer. read more

I stayed in the main Lodge. Room was clean, nicely decorated, and the bed felt like a cloud! I appreciate that the staff appear to be covid conscious - but this does men that the main lobby and restaurant are closed, and housekeeping does not refresh rooms. Nicest staff and owner! We broke down about two miles east of Bluff. We pulled into the closest stop which was the Desert Rose Resort. The owner was outside and came over to help inspect our car. Luckily we had a minor repair. Even though we were not staying at the resort, he gave us a recommendation for an auto repair shop in the town we were headed too. Then he invited us inside to use their bathroom and for some coffee and tea. While we were inside we saw a beautiful view out back, a nice pool, and washer and dryers. We are excited to come back to the Resort in the future and actually stay! Thank you Amer, and your staff, for being so generous! read more

We stayed here in early February. Their restaurant is closed and there is virtually no food in town at this time of year. Dinners were frozen TV dinners in the microwave and a gas station pizza. Thankfully we brought beer and wine as there was none to be had anywhere! If the hotel is going to be open, they really need to do a better job of providing for their guests, especially given the lack of services in town. I suppose this is a perfectly nice place to stay when fully functioning, but their lack of care for current guests was disappointing. They need to do better. read more

Very nice hotel with very nice rooms. I was very disappointed in the buffet breakfast as a diabetic. I saw their picture of what should be on the breakfast, bacon as the protein, so I was happy. Not there as shown in the promo. No meat of any kind soI went with the eggs and my best substitute, peanut butter. Sugar listed as the second ingredient in the peanut butter. Gave up and left and looked for a restaurant in town. I don't want to be picky but please don't advertise what you don't have. read more

Another employee allowed me to use the private microwave before checking out -Rooms were just remodeled -Washers and dryers -The view from the pool area is breathtaking -They give extra towels in the pool area Cons: -No microwaves in rooms -The headboard is not screwed to the bed frame, it bumps into the wall when you sit back on bed. You are able to hear that to the neighbors next door due to the same reason ***They have a restaurant at this location, they only have 25 reviews on yelp vs other restaurants close by. Overall this place is really pleasant stay clean and efficient. Aesthetics are OK you can pay more and get a better room with a better lobby for Jess about $75 more a night. The swimming pool is nice and the setting is beautiful. My only complaint is the restaurant link to the full hotel has been closed for the last few days... Which is a real head scratcher since there's so few places to eat in town. read more

Amazing place in the middle of the dessert. We booked to get out of a wind storm in Moab and couldn't have been more charmed and surprised. Cozy and romantic cabin was perfect for us. Great shower and comfy bed too. We didn't get a chance to take advantage of the hot tub and pool, but the view from the pool area was stunning. Staff was incredibly helpful, especially Gus, who helped us hose off our car and camping equipment from the wind storm. A life-saver! Our only comment was that we wish they had a beer and wine license as the majority of guest are traveling through. read more

I chose this location for it's proximity to Monument Valley, Four Corners and Mesa Verde. Our trip was supposed to come from the north through Arches, but got de-railed due to snow in the rockies. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious - we went with the king! Hubby is 6 feet tall and a queen just wont do! And free wifi!! Not super fast, but since sprint cards don't work - who cares! The decor is definitely cozy and cute. Bed it pretty comfortable. Pillows are not as flat as other hotels. If you do get a room on the first floor- be aware if you want to sleep in in might be tough. Bathrooms are tiles and the walkways are made of wood, so sound travels. (I'm up before 7am no matter where we stay - so no biggie for me!) There were a number of locations to plug things in, so that was important for us - we travel with at least 3 electronics needing power per person! We recently traveled to Bluff, UT and booked a three day stay at the Desert Rose Resort. I don't normally book into a resort that I don't know, but I wanted to stay in this area so I took the chance that the photos and write up on the internet was accurate. Well, to my surprise, it was even nicer! I booked a cabin, instead of the lodge, because they have no elevator. We were given Cabin #6, which was a cabin with a King bed. The unit was very large and provided a sitting and dining area, as well as a large bathroom. There was a microwave and a small refrigerator in the unit. Outside, there was a porch with seating. Given the times of Covid19 I did not expect cleaning service, so we made our own bed in the morning before going out. To our surprise, when we returned, our bed was remade and the unit cleaned. The staff was very pleasant and there was morning coffee. Thank you for providing us a wonderful experience, we may come that way again, Bluff is magical!! read more

This is my second time back here at this woodsy motel. It has awesome amenities. There is a pool, gym and a huge lobby / lounge area for all the guests. Brand new building has opened! We were lucky to get a room here, it is spectacular. The lobby in the new building is posh, it opened last month. The pool (larger than most hotel pools) opened last week. The decor is luxurious throughout. Room was beautiful and comfortable. We were amazed that such a nice place was in the middle of nowhere. We even have a porch that looks at the bluff. Very reasonable price for such a nice stay! I highly recommend this for anyone traveling to visit monument valley. It is quite possibly the nicest option for hundreds of miles. Friendly staff too! Wifi is speedy too. And the flat screen is one of the best I've seen in a hotel. Really can't say enough about the decor in this new building. Love it! read more

The views here are amazing! Imagine jogging on the treadmill or swimming in the indoor pool while you gaze at the grandeur of the Utah mountain range. It's is absolutely breath taking. This is a very beautiful hotel. The owners have put a lot of money, time, and thought putting this place together and it shows. The staff is very friendly and hospitable. Had an overnight stay here on our way to Moab. Room was clean and spacious, bathroom was clean and nice hot water. The heater in the room was extremely noisy and ended up having to unplug it as it was waking us up during the night. Also the onsite restaurant was closed and would of been nice to been advised this on check in, as well being advised there was only 1 restaurant open in town. read more

This is a beautiful well maintained facility, with personable and professional staff, and in the ideal location for what we wanted to explore; Hovenweep, Valley of the Gods, Monument Valley, Sand Island, etc. We stayed in cabin 7. Very well laid out, clean and excellent (daily) housekeeping staff. Our only regret was Duke's being closed due to Covid, but there are excellent places to eat within walking distance. Making our way from the Grand Canyon in Arizona, up into the south of Utah to begin exploring the national parks here, we made a mid-way stop-off in the friendly town of Bluff. We were lucky enough to find ourselves staying at the Desert Rose Inn & Cabins - they are the first thing that you see when driving into the town, and your jaw will instantly drop at how gorgeous the timber-work of the lodges and cabins look against the backdrop of mountainous landscapes beyond. We arrived the morning of our stay, and were instantly greeted by a friendly young lady at reception and one of the owners, Amer, who warmly welcomed us to his family owned lodging of 20 years. We acknowledged that we had arrived much before check-in and did not expect our room to be ready yet, however we were assured that this was no problem, and a room was located that was available for us to check-into immediately. Accommodating for a range of different styles and sizes of rooms, Desert Rose Inn & Cabins is perfect for whether you're a solo traveller, a couple, family, or even a small group of friends. We had the pleasure of enjoying one night in our own private cabin! Our cabin & private porch area was fully furnished with everything that we needed for a day and night of comfort and luxury - an extremely relaxing queen sized bed, flat screen TV and cable television, coffee and tea making facilities, microwave, mini fridge and freezer, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, lounge chair, desk area, heater/AC unit, and a spacious bathroom area with the best shower that we had had in quite some time! The room was decorated wonderfully with lots of little touches which made us feel right at home - soft rugs and pillows, paintings, lamps and flowers, fresh white towels, and complimentary bathroom soaps, shampoo's, etc. This entire lodge really captures the authentic native indian culture that this town is renowned for. After settling into our room, we went to explore our surroundings - instantly drawn towards the indoor pool and jacuzzi! A seperate building from the lodges, the indoor pool and spa area is a large, open, and spacious building, the swimming area surrounded by glass windows, offering unbeatable views of the landscapes outside. We then made our way to the other part of the building, the formal lounge area - high ceilings, a grand fireplace, large canvas paintings and mirrors, a ceiling-high bookshelf, and many comfortable old-english chairs.. making you feel as though you have just stepped foot into a gorgeous medieval castle! Also attached to the same building, was the exercise room - with a treadmill, bicycle machine, elliptical strider, and weights, working out has never been so pleasurable with the stunning views that you enjoy at the same time. Once you check-into Desert Rose Inn & Cabins, you truly have no reason to need to leave! With speedy wifi connection, laundry facilities, an on-site market that sells a range of food products and basic needs, and a restaurant open for breakfast and dinner (Dukes), everything that you need for your stay is right here! But if you have a few days to explore the surrounding areas, there are many day-trips that can be made from this great location also. Some nearby attractions which are all accessible and within a short drive are the Crow Canyon, Gooseneck State Park, Edge of the Cedars, Monument Valley, Natural Bridges, and Valley of the Gods. In our room we found a very helpful guidebook which details all of the activities and viewpoints that you can access nearby, with all the information that one can need! Another small and thoughtful touch that sets Desert Rose apart from others. For anyone driving through, or visiting any of the areas even remotely close to the town of Bluff, we cannot recommend enough stopping off at Desert Rose Inn & Cabins - it truly is a home away from home, and every single person that we met during our stay here were also blown away with the attention to detail, facilities, and comfort of this gorgeous lodging. I found this gem of a desert on Expedia. I'm so glad I did. We got the executive cabin with one queen bed. It's the cutest little cabin. Such a nice, warm, quaint place to come back to after a day of exploring, hiking and driving! Great shower, great space, and super comfortable bed and pillows. I love the privacy of the cabin! The grounds are beautiful. The restaurant on site is delicious but has off season hours so make sure to check it out! Gym was awesome, nothing like running on treadmill with a stellar view! This is an A+ plus plus place to stay! I absolutely loved the log cabin look and feel of this place. We got a double queen room so we could use the second bed for luggage. Also I always like to have extra towels! Everything about this place reminds you of a rustic cabin from the bedspreads to the headboards. This place was so clean and so neat and the rooms had Adirondack chairs outside where you could sit and view the beautiful rocks. What I loved also was that it had a guest laundry and we were in the middle of a two-week road trip. We had lots of items to wash and the facilities were great! The people at the front desk couldn't be nicer! The beds were so comfortable! There is a restaurant called Dukes that is attached. We ate dinner there and it was absolutely wonderful. They do have an indoor pool and hot tub but I believe indoor pools give off that stench that I can't stand so I couldn't swim. I prefer outdoor pools but I'm guessing in this area you can't do that. I also have a gym which is small but great. Definitely stay here when on the way to the Grand Canyon! read more
