We ordered Ipswich steamers (which were very fresh and delicious!), a bowl of NE clam chowder and a combo platter with cod, shrimp, scallops, French fries and coleslaw. Everything was amazing. This is a great place to stop after spending time on Sanibel Island and heading back to Fort Myers (or wherever!). It was a bit after 3:00 and we were seated (outside) immediately. Our server was there pronto to take and deliver our drink order. She was very friendly and efficient. The outside has a real island feel, laid back and casual. We didn't go inside, but I am sure it's similar. We both ordered the cod fish and chips/jumbo shrimp combo basket. The fish and shrimp tasted fresh and the batter was well seasoned. This was such a great hole in the wall find for us. The restaurant is hidden, very casual with not a lot of frills but the food is the star of the show here. You can tell that this place has a nice following, many of the guests that were dining seemed to be locals and regulars. I thought the food near the beaches would be better. Instead, I tried this little place in a strip mall. It has a cute little outdoor patio though! The loss of the ocean view was easily surpassed by the food. The shrimp tacos and the fried shrimp were EXCELLENT! The shrimp was very lightly breaded yet very crispy somehow! An absolute MUST when you are around the area! By far the best seafood place I have ever been. Great portions for a great price! This place is really hard to find because of GPS but I'm glad I persisted. The food was pretty amazing to be honest. I was hoping for fried flounder since I'm from the south but the restaurant specializes in New England fried cod. I got a platter with the cod, jumbo shrimp, and seasoned scallops with home cut fries and Cole slaw. Everything on the platter was better than expected especially the scallops. They were incredible. We learned about this restaurant quite by accident, but we are so glad we did. It ended up being 30 miles from home, but was worth the nice afternoon drive. We think the food is wonderful and so fresh. The breading on the seafood is so thin and tasty. I ordered the Fisherman's Platter and loved everything on it. My husband ordered the shrimp and cod. We both could not stop saying how good it was. I wish I would have taken pictures, but will when we go back. We both had enough to take home to eat for dinner. We cannot wait to go back. I must mention that they are closed this week and next week for vacation. They are going to need a rest before "season" as we are sure they will be very busy. Hidden on the far corner of a strip mall sits Cape Cod Fish Company. The service was very fast and the vibe was casual. My wife and I shared their Classic Lobster Roll with Parmesan Truffle Fries, Cod N Shrimp Combo, and Flash Fried Calamari. The calamari was well executed and although I would have preferred it with less chilli-lime aioli, I couldn't stop eating it. The lobster roll was also good. I recently stopped here while visiting family on a drive up to Tampa and I am so glad. The only downside about this place is that it isn't closer to where I live. Everything is made fresh to order and the prices are very reasonable however they are a little bit on the higher side. The Saving Grace definitely for the price point is the fact that it actually comes with a side when you order a lobster roll. Many places that I have been to just give you the role of for the same amount of money. Everything about the role was phenomenal and when it comes to the amount of butter on it I have to say that it was just the right amount, I can't stand when my lobster rolls are swimming in butter and this place definitely knows how to put the right amount of butter without making it too greasy. The staff was very friendly and even said all of their specials and they even apologized that they were out of clams because of a shortage on them. The lobster tasted as if it was caught 5 minutes ago and cooked up right then and there. After being there a few times before covid we knew we could go now again with no problems we thought. Well the only problem was it's still way too crowded. It was never like that before. What is happening here? Snowbirds still or just no one wants to go back to work? I'm glad the restaurant is doing well anyway. We love it. Wife had been craving some good fish & chips and we decided to give Cape Cod Fish a try giving it was on our way back home and also all the rave reviews. Located on the back end of a shopping center parking as you can imagine was plentiful. There was indoor and outdoor seating options. Staff seemed friendly to start and the restaurant seemed quite busy for a mid afternoon lunch crowd. So all signs pointed in the right direction. We all started ordering and my daughters bf wanted a grilled cheese with his lobster bisque. We were told he couldn't order that because it was on the kids menu and he wasn't under 12. Which I found odd particularly since we had an 8 year old at the table. She said there was another type of grilled cheese which he could order. So we went with that. The rest of our order consisted of the Parm & Truffle Fries, Classic Lobstah Roll, Fish & Chips, Chicken Fingers, New England Clam Chowder and Fried Calamari. The fries were hand cut which was a plus and the fish was fried to order. Well fried and steaming hot. Outside of that none of the rest of the food really stood out. Fish although well fried and fresh needed seasoning. The fries needed salt. I mean even our 8 year old asked for salt. The lobstah roll was ok but I didn't feel great after eating it. The Fried Calamari came doused in several sauces and it was all soggy by the time it arrived at the table. I would suggest sauce on the side next time. But I could oversee many food issues acknowledging that people have different tastes and opinions vary from person to person on what may be seasoned or not. But there is one thing I won't budge on and that's service. I never got a warm feeling from the servers. Most of the time they stood behind the counter with their arms folded. I couldn't understand why there was a fountain soda section in the middle of the dining room yet only the servers could use it. There was even a big sign that said "No Self Serve!" But the kicker was being over charged in the end for our kids Chicken Fingers. The bill said 12.99 even though the menu said 6.99. And that grilled cheese that we couldn't get ended up getting charged 10.99 when the kids menu said 4.99. We ended up not saying anything because we just wanted to leave. My wife later told me that she felt uncomfortable and truth be told I did as well. It is unfortunate as we were looking for a nice dining experience and based on the many positive reviews I thought that would be the case. Hopefully your experience is better than ours. read more

I visited Cape Cod Fish for the first time during lunch, on Saturday. It is a hole-in-the wall type place off of McGregor, in Fort Myers. Everything was excellent, especially the New Englander fish sandwich, lobster roll, and lobster chowder. They have indoor and outdoor seating, and a great variety of different options on their menu. We saw the great reviews for this so we put it on our list of seafood places to try when in the FM area for three weeks. We arrived early on a Friday and it was a good thing because people were waiting in the parking lot by the time we had finished (no other place to wait). We were able to get a small table outside which was good though the patio isn't super inviting. Inside the place is pretty small. Our waitress was super friendly and helpful. She did a nice job. Only four non-interesting beers on draft so I started with their white sangria which was pretty good. Thought I was drinking a soda! I tried their NE clam chowder and it was very good. Third time I have tried a chowder or bisque around town on this visit and this was by far the best. Good flavor and the right amount of creaminess without being gloppy. My wife got the blackened salmon tacos and gave them a big thumbs up. I tried their lobster roll with hot butter - I asked for extra melted butter - decadent! It was not huge for $24 but it was filled with large pieces of lobster meat. Lots of claw meat. Excellent! The ambiance isn't great but the food is! read more

Yesterday, I got a notification from Yelp reminding me that this casual seafood restaurant has been on my "want to go" list, and so today I checked it out. I'm glad I did. I was very tempted by several things on the menu, including both Maine-style and Connecticut-style lobster rolls, but I decided to try the Fried Shrimp Po'boy as a reliable indicator of overall restaurant quality. Based on that, and a few additional elements of my experience, I'd definitely rate this place Top Notch. I started with some perfectly brewed iced tea and a cup of delicious Lobstah and Sweet Corn Chowdah (see photo). The chowder was very flavorful with noticeable chunks of lobster. It was a little sweet (from the corn), and I added some ground black pepper to give it a little bite. I also added the packet of Oyster Crackers that came with the soup, which helped give it more heft. I would definitely order (a bowl of) this soup again. The Fried Shrimp Po'boy came out a little fast (I was still savoring the soup) but it was perfectly presented (see photo) and was extremely good. Indeed, when the server asked me what I thought after my first couple of bites, I honestly said I felt like I was on Bourbon Street. The Po'boy is quite traditional, with a classic, buttered and toasted French roll (with a great crunch and chew), a medley of Romaine lettuce and diced tomatoes, plenty of large, perfectly cooked breaded shrimp, and a drizzling of "spicy mayo," which wasn't actually very spicy but had a nice subtle Cajun flavor. Some additional spicy mayo was served on the side, which I gladly added. The shrimp were hot, plump, and juicy. The breading was a little too thick and a little too bland for my taste, but it was definitely in a New Orleans style. The whole was supremely satisfying, as were the Hand-Cut French Fries. I cut the sandwich in half using the thoughtfully-provided serrated knife, and added some Crystal Hot Sauce to the second half, which nicely boosted the overall taste. The restaurant has a nice vibe with a very friendly staff, and several parties including individuals, couples, and families came in to eat while I was there. There's also outdoor seating in the front, and although there really isn't any significant view from there, a nice variety of New England artwork and other decorations, as well as plants, makes for a nice atmosphere. There's nothing very "Cape Cod" about a Shrimp Po'boy, but this location has a significant sense of itself and a thorough commitment to overall quality. I will definitely be back to try some of the more New England style items. read more

The ladies who were serving and taking orders were so sweet and helpful, we truly enjoyed their hospitality :) My lobster roll was absolutely scrumptious and I fell in love with the fried fish from my husband's "captains dinner". I wasn't a fan of the yellow belly clams but that's just a personal preference, nothing to do with quality. My only regret is not living closer to eat here every week lol! read more

This is a fabulous hidden gem! The best fried cod I've ever had, including off the coast of Ireland and in the UK. The batter is very light and crispy, and the cod was perfectly cooked and juicy.
