Ordered a week ahead for a birthday dinner while in Truro at a rental property. 7 2lb lobsters with warm melted butter,corn, clams on the 1/2 shell and shrimp cocktail for all, was delivered hot and delicious exactly on time by a very friendly young man. Price was very good and fair, food was OUTSTANDING! Was so happy we chose Cape Tip, money very well spent, thanks Cape Tip seafood for a great experience.. Damn fine place. We were starving and on the lookout for a restaurant for lunch. Then we saw the sign. "Lobster: $5.95/lb." OK. My idea of New England. One picnic table outside an awesome seafood market. Perfect. Cape Tip sits in a little shopping centre that has all the goodies one would need for a weekend on the Cape. There's a farm stand, liquor store, deli and a real estate shop (gives you an opportunity to dream a little...) all sharing a parking lot alongside Route 6. When we got inside, we found out the smaller lobsters (less than 5 lbs.) were $7/lb. and the big guys (of which there were a TON... many well over 10 lbs.) were the lower price. We decided to go with a couple 2 1/4 pounders and were very happy we did. The guy working (probably the owner, if I had to guess, but for some reason we didn't talk about it?) cooked them up and served them in a neat little tray pre-"dressed" (cracked) with a huge bowl of fresh butter. It was delightful. The owner made sure to check on us and make sure everything was up to our expectations and even cracked a few jokes. Very nice guy, very friendly place, lots of local "to-go" traffic as we ate. Grabbed a bottle of vino at the liquor store and wrangled some plastic cups. Who could ask for anything more? The market had tons of other goodies, too. Lots of fresh fish, pre-cooked/chilled lobster, lobster meat, Wellfleet oysters (made sure I had one before I left -- salty and delicious), bisque and chowders in the cooler. They also had a full lobster meal deal where they include corn on the cob and some other good stuff, all sourced from the farm stand next door. Bought cod full of worms! Threw it all in the garbage! Yuck! I get it, cod does occasionaly have worms but not to this extent! On few occasions displayed product especially mussels were fully open and rotten! We all know that shellfish needs to breath but mussels do not! They need to be closed not widely open and rotten! I stayed in a Wellfleet AirBNB last week and shopped at this market twice. Everything was very fresh. The market is sparkling clean and bright. The people that work there are some of the friendliest and welcoming on the cape. If you are lucky enough to make it here, be sure to get a few containers of the Bluefish Pate. I was immediately turned off by this place when I entered the store and l discovered their sign on the street advertising "$10.99/"lb lobster" only applied for lobsters over 5lbs. I doubt they even had a 5lb lobster available. (Normal sized lobsters were $16.99/lb I believe.) I had visions of stuffing myself silly with mounds of seafood so that's why we stopped into Cape Tip Market. We arrived around 5:15pm on Wednesday and I wanted to order the lobster dinner. Was told by the very surly woman working there that dinner orders had to be ordered ahead of time and it takes 30 min. to prepare (This is info that would have been helpful had it be on their website!). They close at 6pm so I figured there would be enough time to throw together a dinner but we were denied. The best they could do was a steamed lobster and that's it. The woman gruffly grabbed a 2.5 lb lobster from the tank and told us it would be ready in 20 min. (only 10 min. less than preparing a dinner). We left to check into our hotel and came back to pick up our lobster ($24.00) and also grabbed a cup of clam chowder ($6.50). The lobster was good, perfectly steamed and they cracked it for us so the meat was easily dug out. But there was no butter, no lemon, nothing. All we got was a side of nasty attitude with our food which left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. read more

My friend loves lobster. So on our way to P-Town we stopped here. They steamed our lobsters in about 20 minutes. We grabbed drinks at the Lunch Box and brought are own snacks. If you want more than just lobster bring it with you or buy it at one of the nearby shops. The lobster was exactly the way you imagine it would be, just steamed fresh, tender, and simple. No frills, just sit at a picnic bench and enjoy. For the price you would get something far less fabulous in P-town, so stop here first. read more

I've been buying my seafood here for years. They have there own boats for some of the seafood. It is always very fresh. O)there here complained about a surley woman. The lady who was there (w/ short bleached blonde hair) on May 24, 2015 at around 6pm clearly does not know how to provide excellent nor good customer service. She made faces and clearly showed us she was upset when we changed our minds and asked if we can have our lobsters cooked onsite instead. We also had an issue with their restroom! Considering their public porta potty was closed and not available for customers, we were still not allowed to use their own restroom even if we asked politely if they can make an exception. Note that we spent $250 from their store! The store manager should consider firing her or assigning that lady in the stock room not front facing the customers! read more

The fish on display looked fresh and delicious. There were a lot of young people working there and you would think that you would get less than professional service (sorry!) but the service and food were great. Do not hesitate... If you want fish, any kind of fish, come here and be amazed. Most is from the ocean to your table in under 24 hours. Perhaps the earlier reviewer called the wrong number because they do sell steamed lobster dinners to go, or to eat at the picnic tables next to the parking lot.... But this is not a restaurant. Call ahead, especially on the weekends, to be sure they are open, and that they have enough lobster left. This is a fish market, where they mainly sell what they catch on their boat in the morning, so there is a limit to the number of lobster they will have in a night! In our week long vacation, my husband and I shopped here every night for dinner... Bought a piece of fresh fish, threw it on the grill with veggies from Highland Farms (next door) and washed down with wine from Truro Liquors (also next door). You can choose to spend 3 to 4 times this much for a lot lower quality at a restaurant in P-town or Wellfleet... or just be smart and buy the best seafood you could possibly find. read more
