How many nice things can I say about Ceraldi? Far too many to post in this review, so I'll keep it brief (or try). Let's start with the ambiance. Modern, clean, even sleek, but still welcoming and comfortable. The food, all seven courses, was marvelous. Bright, flavorful and fresh. The very definition of "Farm-to-Table." Not getting too specific, as the menu changes daily, but on a warm summer day beginning with a fresh salad of gorgeous greens, perfectly dressed, followed by a magnificent gazpacho. The perfect way to start a summer meal. And the following courses did not disappoint. On to the service. Clearly the owners of Ceraldi understood a great meal is about more than one thing. While the food must be the star, the staff must create the experience. And they never disappoint. Beginning with the meal tutorial by the chef, and continuing with wine information and advice from a startlingly knowledgeable server, and continuing with the rest of the very gracious "ladies of Ceraldi." The room is lovely. Wait staff were warm, friendly and hard-working. We got the 3-course menu. The food was quite good, though two of us found it to be a bit rich/heavy. The staff was charismatic, attentive and knowledgeable, the food was inspired and delicious. The servers are attentive and you cannot beat the ocean front views and ambiance. If you are looking for a special occasion restaurant experience, this is a fantastic option. The Friday night season opening at this intimate wharf location in Provincetown harbor was exceptional. The 7 course fare and wine pairings with generous portions offered truly original taste experiences. Each course was an adventure in locally sourced prime ingredients, creatively prepared and artfully presented by a passionate and engaging staff. The wines and mocktail pairings were unique and complex complements. The attentive staff enthusiastically explained each course and its ingredients in a well paced presentation. I'm going to average out my stars from the two visits that I've had, which should be easy because both of those visits deserve five stars. The first time around I enjoyed one of their seven-course dinners. This is what we ate: First Course: Oysters with different garnishing on seagrass Second Course: A salad with beets Third Course: Lobster Soup Fourth Course: Zucchini noodles with tempura Fifth Course: Corn with flan and a white fish Sixth Course: A vegetarian dish with a cream sauce Seventh Course: Tart with lemon sauce The best thing about this restaurant is that they don't have a set menu and they cook with whatever is fresh and in season. Everything is locally sourced and organic. The restaurant is beautiful and they plate the food right in front of you. The chef is an artist and the food is their canvas. I hope that I'll get the opportunity to attend another seven-course meal in the future. Each course came with a different type of tea. They were all delicious and it was honestly hard to choose my favorite one. On the second visit, I came for breakfast. My family ordered pastries. My parents ordered a sweet pastry and they also ordered a pizza-like flatbread. I only tried the flatbread and it was amazing. That was the best flatbread I ever had. It was cheesy, and doughy, and the sauce was delicious. I didn't have any of the sweet pastry, but it smelled delicious. read more

This year, we learned that CERALDI has moved to Provincetown. We haven't visited their new location yet, so my review is a bit out-of-date. I wish them well in their new location, and am optimistic that the food and service is just as good as ever, although I doubt that the sunsets could possibly be as good. read more

Beautiful restaurant. Dinner is expensive for cape cod, but honestly not outrageous considering how some of the seafood shacks are for fish and chips. The overall concept of Ceraldi is very cool as they take all their ingredients from locally sourced or owned agriculture producers. Chef gave a speech -- a bit too long -- about all the producers and food sources. Food was delicious and chef was very accommodating of allergies/restrictions and even packed up the last few courses of my meal since I was too full. We've been dining at Ceraldi for years, typically visiting to celebrate our anniversary. We were unable to get a table the past few years due to the pandemic, but were happy to be back this year. As others have said, this is more than just a dinner, but an experience. Quite pricey yes, but the cost now covers a wine/beverage pairing. This is a 7 course dining experience with hyper local ingredients. We enjoy sitting at chef table, and watching Chef Michael and his staff create our dinner. We especially enjoy the details about where the ingredients are sourced. Service is polished and there is great attention to detail. All of this happens in a somewhat rustic, casual setting right on Mayo Beach in Wellfleet. Plenty of parking without a concern. The menu changes daily, but seems to always begin with Wellfleet oysters followed by a huge salad. From there, you just never know what will be served that evening. You can let the restaurant know about any dining restrictions and I believe they will work with you to ensure a great dining experience. There are two seatings on the nights they serve, 5:30 and 8:30. We have always booked the first seating and found the pace to be just about right. If you are looking for a very special dinner with delicious and beautiful plates, this is your ticket. read more

Although I thought our meal was WAY overpriced, I would still give Ceraldi 5 stars. Our meal was very pleasant and served at just the right pace. We had excellent service and every course was more delicious than the last. For how much we paid (around $500 for two of us for 7 courses) I would've preferred at least one more protein dish. We each started with 3 Wellfleet oysters and the 6th course was a seared swordfish...kind of a bland fish that takes on the flavors that it's cooked in. The theme of the wine pairings was Rose, which I happen to like, but my husband NEVER orders. It would've been nice if they'd offered an alternative. Overall, the service was extraordinary, with the owner and chef explaining how the meal would play out and where the ingredients were sourced from....mostly all local. Having read uniformly exceptional reviews, we decided that Ceraldi would be a rare splurge to celebrate our 26th wedding anniversary. The restaurant itself is casual and welcoming while also quietly elegant. Chef Ceraldi introduced himself and his staff before describing our unique dining experience in great detail. There was a realization that we would be expected to take our time to savor each bite in each of seven courses, and that's exactly what happened. We learned that each 7-course tasting menu began with Lucky Lip Oysters from Wellfleet, consisting of 3 oysters with wildly different presentations and flavors. This established a theme for the evening, featuring a blue fin tuna tartare, a corn and lobster soup, a "gnudi," a risotto and mushroom stuffed honeynut squash, smoked swordfish, and an exquisite dessert of chocolate mousse with brownie crumbs, vanilla bean whip and salted caramel. Each course was thoughtfully paired with an exceptional wine, with the meal and the wine described in enthusiastic detail by the friendly, attentive staff. My brief summary of the individual courses hardly hints at the craft and nuance of flavor that made each bite a celebrated event. One of many times wish could give half stars as would give 4.5. When do this many courses likely to have some issues. Place itself is casual yet sophisticated in that coastal sort of way. There is a chefs table plus some tables around. Kitchen itself look like could fit no more than 3 people. They always start with local oysters which they were good enough to cook for those that did not like raw and replace for those allergic to shellfish. Menu in very plant forward. Of the various courses I had two quibbles. The toast for my soup was burnt. The soup itself tasted amazing. Most of the ones I saw looked fine. The risotto was tasty as loved the mushroom though the rice itself was crunchy. I could go through every other course but liked them though odd for place like this serving were almost too large so was getting stuffed before got to 5th course. The drink pairings worked well. I think they were shocked we wanted another bottle as wanted alcohol during the soft drink pairings and also replace white with red one party does not like to drink. Went here last night as visitors to Cape Cod. Knowing it has a lovely location in a touristy area, I thought maybe the food might be solid but not outstanding. Boy was I wrong! Easily one of the top three best meals I've had in my life. The flavors...the craftsmanship...just amazing every course. And it really helps that the chef explains it all to you before the meal, so you really appreciate the ingredients and their connection to the Cape Cod area. Our favorites were the lasagnette, the corn soup, and the caprese salad. But it was very hard to pick a favorite. Service was excellent was well, although might not be to everyone's tastes ... some might like the quirkiness. Others might find it unpolished for the price. A great experience. The food was inventive and delicious, and the service and ambience were great. We particularly liked how vegetable-forward the meal was. When we ate the oyster with a dollop of caviar on it at the start of the meal, we knew it was going to be a good night, and it was. Great dishes included the salad with pistachio dressing, gazpacho with chunks of lobster in it, the amazing orecchiette pasta with little pieces of wild boar, and the seared tuna. While it was a struggle to get a reservation, the hostess accommodated my request to remove the prices from the menu, allowing for a worry-free date experience. Throughout the evening, the waiters and chefs continue to be attentive and cater to one's needs to have a truly amazing evening. this place is entirely without equal. i have been lucky enough to eat here twice before with my family and earlier this year my mum told me she booked a reservation for august and i have been looking forward to it all summer... once again not only did it not disappoint, it blew me the fuck away. my family is super foody and i have worked in restaurants as a bartender for the last three years and this is the type of food/experience/restaurant that makes me want to drop everything and dedicate my whole life to restaurants and cooking. this place is beyond exceptional. the vibe, the music (khruangbin - brilliant lol), the fantastic service, the stunning views of the wellfleet sunset outside, the descriptions of the food from chef michael and the staff, the perfect interior, the table cloth you can draw on, just everything about this place rocks so hard i just love it the food was beyond jaw dropping. the corn soup was so bloody clever and flavorful. the halibut with the saffron soubise was enchanting. the aranchini was homey and delicious. it's all just so good. and god those oysters... my first ever oyster on the half shell was here a few years ago and it is something i regularly think about to this day, once again, tonight, it blew me away. there is nothing else like them. chef michael is genuinely inspiring, the man could lead a cult. his food makes me want to work for him. as i was leaving earlier i said to him that the oyster with hot sauce was amazing (it was so wildly savory and appropriately acidic and just yummy) and he went back inside and brought me a bottle of the farmer friends hot sauce to give to me, so generous, i will be putting this on everything for a while. very kind of him it meant a lot. this place is the best and most memorable restaurant i've ever been to by far. i love it. thank you so much ceraldi. read more

What a place, what an experience, what a meal. Came here with my mom who was raving about it. It is a unique concept: everyone gets the same meal at the same time (roughly). It was 7 courses, including a desert and each course was phenomenal. They also do a pairings list so for $33 you get a different wine with each course that is supposed to go well with that particular dish. Really great for wine lovers. Went here with my parents and a friend after hearing so many great things about this place. I was lucky enough to have my friend make a reservation a couple of months in advance so we were able to enjoy the later seating on a Thursday night in August. First off, this place is in a spectacular setting--right on the water and has gorgeous views of the bay, especially at sunset. It was also really nice to sort of gather outside with the rest of the diners as we were waiting for the first seating to finish as we got to meet quite a few people from all different parts of the country. As far as the meal goes--this is definitely a one-of-a-kind dining experience, especially for the cape. There aren't many places where the chef comes out and explains the full concept of the menu that night and then lets you know which local farm each ingredient used comes from. In addition, our table did a wine pairing with each course and they had someone come around and explain the flavor profiles and the ideas behind their pairing. I have to say--and my friend who had been here before attested to this--but I don't think on our particular night, that it was one of their stronger nights. That being said, all of the food was very creative and fresh and well-cooked, but on a couple of the dishes, not all the flavors came together as you would have hoped. Nevertheless, we all had such a fantastic time. Overall, this place is a must try on the cape as it truly is such a unique experience. It is also a great opportunity to really enjoy a meal and your company as the dinner lasts nearly 3 hours. My one major gripe with this place is that it was very hot out and inside the restaurant it was stifling--like we were dripping sweat and had to blow out our candle because we couldn't handle that little bit of extra heat stifling. They tried to accommodate us by opening the door, but it kept getting closed and wasn't really helping. We enjoyed our experience here five years ago and we were fortunate to get in from the waitlist last Saturday afternoon for dinner that night. The food was amazing and the service was fabulous. We ate outside facing the bay - something like a sunset picnic experience. Eating off of paper plates and the handheld aspect of the meal detracted from the experience and I feel limited the creativity in food preparation andvoresentatiobut we understand the limitations of Covid. I just came across a menu from Ceraldi while spring cleaning and was transported back to our wonderful night there! ~FOUR stars for dinner service. It was excellent, but I would've expected portion sizes to have been a bit bigger for the price we paid. Waiters/waitresses were knowledgeable and pleasant all while ensuring that all guests were taken care of. Dinner here is a remarkable culinary experience that shoots you out of Wellfleet and deep into a floral-filled, candlelit ambience...with Chef Ceraldi as the night's captain! Our seven courses were...oysters ["uno"], missicanza ["due"], malfatti ["tre"], arancini ["quattro"], ravioli ["cinque"], scallop ["sei"], peach/blueberry upside-down cake ["sette"]. Scrumptious. So, so scrumptious. (I just wish I had more of everything!) The wine/bev pairings were spot on. You are also offered a wine menu (to purchase more), but I was fairly drunk by the end of dinner. Thankfully, my husband was fine to drive. (I would just stick to the pairings that Ceraldi has come up with instead of ordering more.) ~TWO AND A HALF stars for morning café. 5 (out of 5) for 2021, 0-1 (out of 5) for 2022. 2022 didn't exactly match the quality of dinner service. I had been to the café the summer before last (2021, their first year with café...if I'm not mistaken, after the Chef had given it a "shoutout" during our dinner) and even with covid uncertainty/pandemic drama/supply chain issues + shortages/etc., I had a far better experience than I did last year (2022). I would've given FIVE stars for the café had 2022 matched 2021. In 2021, there were scones, doughnuts, sticky buns...with unique flavors that would change day-to-day. Baristas who were on top of it. To-go cups and Wi-Fi access. I loved all of this, and I know others did too! It became such an enjoyable part of my morning routine! It really felt like a "soft" version of Ceraldi's vision in the early morning, if that makes any sense. Very welcoming and casual-yet-extraordinary. Fast forward to the café of 2022 and the sticky buns were $7 each (I believe)...unfortunately, they were not worth it. No other pastries (which I couldn't believe). No Wi-Fi and no to-go cups. Menu options became greatly reduced, with noticeably increased prices. One of the baristas simply left (albeit while there was a line) because he needed to "take a walk" or something of the sort. I remember this because of how particularly odd it was, especially when recalling the decorum and service of past waiters/baristas/etc I'd seen there before. The remaining barista did not seem to know how to operate the register. There were also still tablecloths/crumbs on tables from what I presume to be the prior night's dinner service. (Ick.) I never had such an experience in 2021. What happened??? The "vibe" (as my kids say) was "off" and left us longing for the café of 2021. I would've loved to have left 4 stars, but I have to weigh the café into the equation as it is, after all, part of the establishment. I guess my biggest critiques come down to portion size at dinner and the loss of what was truly a great morning café. (It is ridiculously hard to find a consistently good coffee shop on the Outer Cape, unless you're fine heading to Provincetown daily.)
