i think any time a place has merchandise the second you walk up it should be a little bit of a red flag that it is a tourist trap and it made me want to turn around, but it was late and we needed some grub. great outdoor seating area. this seems more of a local spot and less of a show stopping seafood spot. fishermans platter offered more than expected but i wasn't as impressed as i thought i would be - still, chowed this down within 30 minutes. service was quick and kind and happy to seat us. good spot - maybe need fryer oil changed?

As ubiquitous as the beaches, lobster rolls define Cape Cod. The toasted buns, the heaping mound of lobster meat, the tang of the cole slaw. Staying in North Truro, having Captain's Choice nearby meant I didn't have to battle summer traffic on Rt.6. My order was placed and ready for pick-up in 5 minutes. The lobster roll hit the spot --- pure comfort and all was right in the world once more. Their homemade chips offer something unique and tasty, though unfortunately I found them a little overdone. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating, friendly and efficient service, easy parking, and a sure bet for your seafood hankerings.

Was driving back down the cape and wanted a lobster roll and that was what Captain's Choice was advertising, so we stopped and ate our lobster roll. It was definitely worth the stop. The service was really friendly and unlike a lot of east coast restaraunts, they continued to fill up our soda and water. The lobster roll was fresh and had great flavor. Also, I really liked the coleslaw, which isn't too surprising, give that I am a big slaw fan. The chowda was good too. Just overall everything that we got on the menu was great. So it is worth the time to go.

Food and drinks. Both not worth the money. Service was mediocre at best. Was looking for an out of way local place. Would not return.

There were a few other tables and by the time we left it was picking up with an early dinner crowd. We had a lovely server named Jodi who was attentive & helpful. The windows were open so I am not sure if they have air conditioning but we were not too warm. The food was delicious! We got the Jerk burger, cooked perfectly, large portion! I might get the aoli on the side in the future it was just a tiny bit too much for me but really good! We had a side of plantains which were perfect & made the mistake of upgrading to salads on both. We should have done one with fries & one with side salad. Definitely worth checking out!

There's plenty of bike parking by the beer yard. It was a nice day so we wanted to sit outside and have a few beers in the Hog Island beer garden. Service was great. They were getting prepared for the busy season training some folks, and everyone was very friendly and hospitable. The beer garden itself was a huge grassy area with plenty of seating, a mix of picnic tables and regular tables with chairs. Despite it being right by the woods it didn't seem too buggy which was really nice. After hanging out a bit we decided to get dinner there. We were able to order food right at the beer garden and pick it up at the take out window. The food was awesome! We got a bowl of clam chowder, loaded tater tots, and the Rt 6 bacon cheeseburger with a side of greens. First, they're not messing around when they say 'loaded' tots! Some places put a sad little drizzle of cheese sauce on top, but theirs were thoroughly covered with a delicious beer cheese sauce, fresh bacon, and scallions. The clam chowder was great! Not too thick, lots of clams and clam flavor. And the burger was amazing! A nice, thick, juicy patty that was perfectly cooked, a really fresh brioche style bun with lots of flavorful toppings. We walked through the restaurant itself to use the bathroom and it seemed like they had a lot of seating, a nice bar, and a patio area. The only bathrooms being inside the restaurant was a little annoying, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they'll have some port-o-potties by the beer yard come the full fledged busy season. Overall a really nice time and we look forward to returning!

We had Southern BLT and Old fashioned burger, we were primed for nueske bacon but the menu can be durable for more vegetal and gluten free options that are just as scrumptious. Burger was sizable and cooked perfect to medium request. Bacon was rich but crisp and the Grafton cheddar had a melty sharpness you needed. Fries were hefty with crisp and fluff interior. Awesome onion strings so crispy! Fried green tomato held up well in the sandwich and the BLT was delicious overall. Loved this dinner and was a highlight of my vacation. Definitely recommend going for starting in or take out!

We were recently invited by friends to join them for dinner at Moby Dicks and we accepted, excited to try it. I have to say it has been the single most impressive visit I have ever had on Cape Cod. All these years, who knew! I've eaten at Lobster Pot, CBI, the Wequassett, the Wayside, Pelham House and several other top restaurants on this peninsula and none of them have left me feeling like Moby Dicks. From the moment I pulled into the parking lot that was chock full of cars and was assisted with parking my car by a very nice young man to standing in line and being offered fresh tasty watermelon while I waited to the young woman who came around and collected our watermelon rinds to the unbelievably nice staff who kept checking on us during out meal. Who does all this these days? Speaking to the staff, I became aware of their accents. They are from all over the world...Croatia, North Africa and so many more far away places. They spoke very highly of the restaurant's owners and actually said they loved working there. This is a win win situation folks. The staff is happy which encourages them to show up for work - unlike so many places these days. This makes the bosses happy which trickles down to the customer who ends up with the best part of the deal...great food at reasonable prices and a hell of a staff to serve you! I don't do reviews but felt propelled to leave this one. Kudos to you Moby Dicks for making families, friends, couples, etc have one of the best nights of their Summer! Oh BTW, I had the blackened swordfish, my boyfriend had the whole belly clams and our friends had the captain's plate and the kabobs - all of it was fabulous and cooked perfectly. EXTREMELY DISTURBING EXPERIENCE WITH THE WAITER!…read more This took place around 9:00 PM on Thursday, June 4. Our group consisted of three couples dining together. At the end of the meal, we asked if the bill could be split into thirds. Our waiter, Martin P., told us that he would not split the check and instead instructed us to write down exactly what each person ordered so that he could charge us separately. Although no other restaurant we visited in Provincetown required us to do this, we followed his instructions and listed our individual items. When Martin returned, he was visibly upset and stated that our payments were approximately $70 short. There was confusion because our group was trying to determine who had already paid, who had not, and whether something had been missed in the calculations. I even asked whether we were expected to calculate individual tax amounts ourselves, as no one knew what tax would be for each separate charge. Rather than calmly helping us resolve the discrepancy, Martin began yelling at our group. At one point he stated, "If I don't get $70, I am going to charge one of the credit cards that I have." This immediately concerned us. We were not refusing to pay. We were actively trying to understand where the discrepancy occurred and make sure the restaurant received the full amount owed. To resolve the issue, one of my friends and I went with Martin into a back room to review the charges. After reviewing everything, my friend agreed to pay the remaining balance immediately. The payment was processed and the bill was fully paid. At that point I was trying to calm the situation and bring it to a close. Instead, Martin became even more agitated and began yelling profanities at us. He shouted, "Get the f*** out of my restaurant! It's people like you why we don't split checks! You all need to get the f*** out now!" Other people started noticing this go down. We were stunned. The bill had been paid. Nobody was attempting to leave without paying. We were simply trying to resolve a billing issue after following the waiter's instructions. As we were leaving, my wife later told me that Martin placed his HAND ON HER BACK and guided her toward the exit. While it was not forceful, it felt unnecessary and added to an already hostile and intimidating experience. What happened next is why I ultimately decided to write this review. A few days later, while walking through Provincetown looking for a place to have lunch, our group passed The Mayflower Food & Drink and noticed Martin working there. When he saw us, he deliberately tapped on the glass to get our attention. After making eye contact, he made a hand gesture across his neck and pointed for us to leave and keep walking. The original incident had already ended. The bill had been paid. Yet days later he still felt the need to single out our group and signal that we were unwelcome. Had this simply been confusion over a split check, I would not be writing this review. Billing mistakes happen. What I cannot overlook is being threatened with unauthorized credit card charges, being screamed at with profanity while attempting to resolve the issue, being ordered out after the bill had been paid, Martin touching my wife, and then encountering the same employee days later making a gesture directed at our group from another restaurant. This experience was troubling enough that I believe others should be aware of it.
