We have been on almost every cruise they offer at this point and have enjoyed every one for different reasons. The Osprey banding is fascinating and the chance to see the birds up close is amazing. The crew are knowledgeable and respectful of the wildlife and handle the birds gently in an activity that is to their benefit. Other cruises out toward the bay are flush with wildlife and photo ops. Depending on the season, you're likely to see just about every bird that moves through the region. On our 4th of July fireworks cruise we saw two bald eagles sitting in the trees next to the canal as well as the amazing vista of fireworks over the water. The crew has your comfort and safety at the top of their priorities and treat you like a guest on their boat. Seating is comfy and roomy. Boat and rest room are spotless. Other cruisers are affable and you can chat or just focus on the scenery as you wish. Last fall we took their cruise up to Milton and the fall scenery was spectacular. On that cruise, you dock downtown in Milton with time to head over to Irish Eyes for lunch, or call ahead and order carry out and take it to the park next to the dock. Someone mentioned this as a birthday gift. The cruisers seem to always be a fun group - take along a few dozen party hats and get the whole boat to sing happy birthday. The most unusual cruise we took was last summer to see a meteor storm. We left about 3 am and cruised to dark skies near the lighthouse and watched the skies. Had a mini astronomy lesson from the captain pointing out major constellations and spent a few hours til sunrise ooohhhing and ahhing at the shooting stars. Took muffins, snacks and wine to that one. Very different from anything I've experienced in this area. Pirate tour was fun. The historian was in period garb (and we wore our pirate stuff and eye patches) and the history about the area was fun with lots of laughs. A cruise is probably the best photo op of birds and scenery you'll get in the area. Every cruise seems to be a winner. read more

Wow! A great time had by all on our Tuesday Sunset Cruise. My wife and I are professional musicians. So because we care about our ears and our musical sensibilities we were a little reluctant when we found out that the only open cruise for our available evening was the musical tour with musicians Roy & Madie Voshell: a father daughter duo. Our reluctance change to delight once the cruise was underway. The music was enjoyable, at a good volume and most importantly the musicians had a professional level of musicianship doing two part harmonies that were stylish and in tune. Their repertoire was familiar, fun and uplifting. (Think "Don't Worry be Happy") The rest of the audience on the boat were attentive and considerate making the experience even more enjoyable. It was great to look around and see other people enjoying the music as much as we were, even a few sing a-longs. The views of the Sunset Cruise are very enjoyable and this was our third cruise with Cape Water Tours so we were familiar with the lighthouses and some of the wildlife. The boat's captain was very personable (I think his name is Mike) and he made us feel welcome and comfortable from the moment we step on board until the time of leaving. We will gladly recommend Cape Tours and will treasure our evening musical experience. read more

My wife and I booked a sunset cruise with Steve and Dale. After dinner at Irish Eyes Pub, we basically walked over to board their vessel. We waited briefly for a couple that was running late, but launched just a few moments after that couple settled in. #1 They were willing to wait a few minutes (less than 10) for a prepaid customer. #2 They kept the chat going while we waited. #3 They gave a brief safety orientation once we were underway. #4 They provided interesting details about sites along the route of travel. #5 Once we located several pods of dolphin, they slowed the boat so we could get great pictures of these beautiful creatures. #6 They provided a short history lesson about the Harbor old Refuge, the lighthouses, and short promotional bits about their other tours. # They settled our boat at an awesome location for the sunset with the Cape Henlopen lighthouse in the foreground and the glistening Bay and sunset in the background. #8 There were surprises that I won't mention, so I don't spoil your cruise. We charted a sunset cruise in June the night before our wedding for our friends and family. First of all, Kathy's customer service was amazing, even during planning during the off season. She responded to messages and emails with such helpfulness, care, and friendliness. It stormed before our tour, but they held out and let the storm pass and let us start our tour after. They are located right next to Irish eyes, so everyone just went to the bar and had a drink and caught up while we were waiting. That was fun too! The tour was amazing. Our friends can't stop talking about it. We brought coolers of wine and trays of desserts, and they said we could attach a device to play our own music, but they had music channel choices that were great. The tour was beautiful. We saw dolphins and rainbows the whole ride. So many photos, so much fun. The crew were so friendly and accommodating. Every single part of the process and experience went exactly perfect. Captain Dale abs 1st Mate Julie were spectacular! Captain Dale was quite knowledgeable of not just the waters and all the markings he could even give information of all the different types of water fowl as well as informing us about Pilot Boats and there function as well as the lighthouses, the point and previous storms *nor'easters* that wreaked total havoc and despair to the area! We are definitely coming back on other cruises as well such as Eastend Lighthouse paranormal tour! Capt Dale actually went out of his way to grab a wayward graduation balloon that was floating in the water that could endanger the sea turtles. Julie was very helpful and outgoing she made certain to talk to all the guests onboard giving her knowledge while out on the tour as well as made herself readily available to take group photos. Highly recommend Cape Water Tours for your getaway from the hustle and bustle of the other beach attraction very relaxing and fresh salty air! read more

This is an awesome business, once again these folks proved that few businesses care about their customers. The "Spooky Lighthouse" tour is my second guided trip and it was awesome and fantastic all at once. The crew Capt Steve, Capt. Maddie and Capt. Dave who took us out to the lighthouse were very accommodating. Even though it is mention upfront the the lighthouse is not ADA compliant the previous named crew were more then helpful to my needs. When I got to the dock Capt. Dave and Capt. Maddie both physically help me down the floating dock and onto the boat without grumbling. Then when we arrived at the lighthouse Capt. Dave made it his mission to help me through the lighthouse. I was able to go all the way up to the area where you could walk a full 360 degrees around the lighthouse. Had it not been for this very special crew and my wife and daughter I would have missed out a very emotional moment read more

So me and my daughter came to visit my sister in law amd her daughter, who recently along with her husband bought a second home. They have done other tours in the area but we chose yours this time. Well, the weather was perfect 80+ degrees, clam breeze, and great company. It says it a non narrating tour, but the guys we had were great, they told us a lot about all different sights we saw or asked about. As we came up to the jetty a d light house, the stories were interesting and educational. As the sun started to set we saw sailboats, paddle boarders (with dogs on thier boards) which everyone enjoyed). Then and we started back they were nice enough to ask my niece if she wanted to drive the boat,(she loved it). Then the best part besides the picture perfect sunset, we saw a bunch of dolphins along wuth thier babies. All in all we would highly recommend this tour! Oh, and a plus plus, B.Y.O.B. read more

A couple friends and I were walking around Lewes looking at all of the beautiful boats and stumbled upon the Cape water tours. We didn't know what it was at first but saw on the board that they had moonlight cruises and that caught our eyes! We went online to try and get a reservation but realized it would probably be sold out but there were exactly 3 seats left at the very last minute with the boat arriving any minute! We got the last 3 seats, and we are so happy that we did. This is a perfect boat ride for those folks who don't have the resources to have their own boat, unfortunately, but want to have that same feeling! The crew was amazing and everybody on the boat with us was very pleasant and courteous with not being too loud or rambunctious. This was an amazing experience. It was the perfect amount of time, great lighting, and awesome music for the mood! Would highly recommend! read more

Three of us took their sunset tour out of Lewes in late June and had a wonderful time. Their boat was immaculate. They made sure people wore masks when boarding (okay to take them off later) and filled only every other table in order to respect social distancing. It was spacious and we felt totally safe. We loved that they allowed us to bring wine and cheese on board for a picnic. The engine was relatively quiet so our conversation was easy and we enjoyed the most beautiful sunset views as a backdrop for lighthouses. The captain pointed out bird's nests and landmarks but was in no way intrusive. He even went out of his way to show us porpoises. Yay! By the way, one of our guests had to cancel just 24 hours before, and they were very gracious with the refund. I look forward to booking other tours with this company. read more

June 29th, 2022 my group of 4 went on a East End Lighthouse Tour from The Lewes Ferry location. We lucked out and had the perfect weather for the trip, sun, warm light bay breeze. The boat was very well maintained, clean, with a great crew of three and a rest room. We left for a one and a half hour trip, that went by in a flash. Had a short history lesson on the way across the bay, with great views. When we reached the light house, there was all access to the light house, free to roam as we pleased. From the catwalk at the top, the view was extraordinary. On the return to shore we heard a few ghost stories and were shown photos of what the light house once looked like. Over all the trip was one the I would highly recommend, and would love to take again. Have lots of great photos and memories of a wonderful day. read more

This was our 4th Cape Water Tour. The tour we choose this time was the canal ride from Lewes to the Rehoboth Bay with a stop at the Rusty Rudder for dinner. Every trip gets better and better. Our Captain is always full of valuable information about the waterways we are riding in and manuevers the canal and bay waters with expert skills. When we pulled into the pier after dark, we had a 2" space on both sides of our boat. Our Caption pulled straight in without a hitch. From making the reservation, to the very end of the ride, it was a friendly,professional,economical and very enjoyable ride. We will continue to reserve trips over and over again overtime we have guests or just want to enjoy a safe and relaxing time on the water. We are looking forward to the Osprey banding excursion next. read more

We reserved seats on the Cape Water Tours and Taxi trip on June 12, 2020. The tickets prices were very reasonable and they have a military discount. The boats are large enough to maintain social distancing while on board. The boat also had a restroom. Our tour was a little longer than 1 1/2. The Captain and First mate of the boat were very nice and courteous. The tour started with the sun up and ended after the sun went down. It was perfect for sunset pictures. They drove us to 2 lighthouses where we got marvelous pictures. We also seen dolphins on the way out and in. The Captain slowed and stopped the boat so everyone on board had a chance to get photos or videos. My husband and I would recommend this touring company to anyone visiting the area. It was calm, peaceful and breathtaking. read more

This was our first ever dauphin watching experience. Let me say, I was almost late due to unexpected traffic. We are not locals so we did not know it gets congested where we were staying which caused us a delay. I called and they said they will advise the captain. I got there exactly at 12pm which was our departure time. We were so grateful he decided to wait for us. The captain and his daughter was very welcoming and helpful getting on the taxi. We seen about five dauphins, the scenery, weather, music, and over all atmosphere was perfect. The cool thing is that you are allowed to bring drinks and food on the ride. The captain was very informative, funny, and humble guy. We will be doing this again with the rest of the family next summer. read more
