I was very disappointed with my experience at Inspire Nail Salon in Bowie. Unfortunately, the nail polish began peeling in less than a week, which reflects poorly on the quality of the products and service provided. I didn't get the name of my nail tech, but the gel manicure and pedicure I received were terrible. The "quick shoot" pedicure advertised as lasting 30 minutes lasted all of 15 minutes at most, and I'm not sure what she did. I put my feet in the water, she didn't clean up, barely filed my toenails into a decent shape, and barely scrubbed my feet. She doesn't know how to polish nails either, she acted like she didn't care, my nails look like I've had them 2 weeks, again, she doesn't know how to polish nails, she got some on my skin, when I told her I didn't like how she was polishing my nails she acted like she didn't understand, I asked her if she was going to polish them a 3rd time and again she acted like she didn't under, someone came over and I told them I didn't like the way she was polishing my nails, she missed areas and again got polish on my skin.i won't be back. read more

The place looks nice and clean but the service was terrible. You can visibly tell that they just want to hurry up and finish, no attention to detail. During the pedicure, I had to ask for her to cut the nails and then had to ask serval times for the tech to file them, she only bothered to do my toe nail. To make it worse, l I wasn't crazy about the color she brought over (they didn't even ask me to pick a color it was that rushed), so I told her we can just do clear.. she put the color on anyways. Never again. Let me first say I am a licensed nail tech. I came to this nail shop for just a pedicure the day before I was induced. The nail tech rushed through the service so quickly she forgot to file my toe nails on one foot. She starts painting my toes and it's a mess. I ask her if the polish was old because it looked so thick. She brushes me off and says it's the first coat. She ultimately attempts to fix the polish with multiple layers of top coat to the point my nail was stuck to my skin with polish. I tell her it looks a mess and another tech comes over and says she'll fix the big toe. I had to argue with them to do my toes over(again the day before I give birth). Picture enclosed! I feel really bias because I always compare my nail experience to my favorite salon in Brandywine, MD However, coming here is not too bad. I need to relax and spend time with my sister and so Inspire nail bar was close and some place I experienced before. They offered beverages and gave the usual pick your color sample ring. My lady was spectacular unfortunately I didn't get her name. My sister's pedicure went pretty well until the nail technician went too far into her cuticle. I was not a fan of hearing about that or seeing it. Their prices are decent, but I've seen cheaper and experienced better quality shops and services. It was 6:20 when out appointment started they did reason with me because my original appointment was at 6, but I ran into rush hour traffic trying to make my way. My main issue with this entire thing was charging for tip without acknowledging they were charging for tip. Usually, technicians are tipped in cash. The salon is esthetically pleasing, but after pedicures the chairs need to have a place to go and towels need to be pick up. Needless to say, It's not a bad spot , but salon cleanliness and communication of service charge needs to be better. read more

Asked for a finger soak off and the woman kept insisting on a pedicure soak off with gel... next strike was her not including the original requested price into whatever persistent service she was berating me to get. Next strike after that was me getting a partial soak off for 10 dollars because when I walked out and looked down I still had product on my finger so I went back asked for some acetone to take home because obviously I was expected to do the rest at home, pics below. I've been going to Jenny for a while until she refused service because I questioned the price increase. As a paying customer, I have every right to inquire about the cost of a service. Especially the same service I've been getting for months! Since she refused to work on me, I tried Danny, who was nice but made my nails look messy, bulky and bumpy. Choose to change the shape of the nail or take the length down. Then fill in the gap that has appeared around the cuticle area as your nails have grown with more gel/acrylic. Once hardened, filed and shaped then apply a new coat of color chosen. Most now give a oil/lotion massage for a finish Now a refill costs more for less service - $55 Removal of the gel color on acrylic -$5 Appling the acrylic with gel-$40 Nail shape-$5 Nail cut-$5 No cuticle trim No hand washing No lotion/oil massage Clear gel with plain acrylic for $55...everything is itemized without disclosing to the customer. The same is true with the pedicure, not even giving services listed i.e. the warm towel. I spent $130 including the tip on two basic services for fill and pedicure. I will NOT return ever. Nail shops like this are getting ridiculous. With rising gas prices etc, this is the first luxury I am discontinuing. Buyer beware. read more

I've gone to this shop for the last couple of months. Pedicures are typically decent (4 stars) but today, I chose the quick 35m pedi and he barely BARELY scrubbed my feet. Also, my nails and lumpy and not even filed. He also filed my nails after dipping in powder so the edges have 0 polish. I don't understand that train of thought at all. I went three times for fill-ins. The first time a guy did a great job. The second time, the lady in the right back corner did a good job. The third and last time, the same associate did them. I asked for a fill in. She did. I chose my gel color. She finished and didn't add a top coat. I was looking at my pinky finger as I went to pay and it was ringed with a white substance. I showed the associate at the register. When I went outside in the sunshine, they all were like that. I went back in and told them to remove it all. I didn't ask for a refund and they didn't offer. They have lost my business due to a terrible fill-in and poor customer service. I refuse to pay $50 for that!! read more

This is my third time coming here when in town and I was attempting to be a regular customer but after this last visit I think I should frequent a shop that doesn't always look like they are looking for patrons. I got my nails done on a Monday right before I went out of town. No later than 24 hours, my natural nail that was dipped in powder broke. Since I couldn't fly back from another state, I waited until my return to immediately ask for it to be fixed- only to be charged for something that should have never broke in the first place if it was done correctly. The fact that they charged me 6 dollars to correct a nail that Britney didn't dip correctly is insane. I ended up paying $70 because the waxer whispered to the receptionist before I paid. I don't know what was said. The ultimate let down was when the waxer used NO GLOVES! So unsanitary - bacteria & germs are real. The woman was in my private sensitive area wearing no gloves....... Gloves are readily available in stores, so it's not a stock issue. Siiiigh. This place was recommended by neighbor. I love the way it looks inside. Justin did my pedicure and I told him the nail was not even and to file it so it was straight across. He said he didn't want to ruin the nail. (What does that even mean) I literally had to fix it myself when I went home. I got an acrylic fill with gel polish. I literally got in my car and drove and noticed the top coat started chipping and turned color a darker shade. Mind you I had the same color from the nail salon across the street with no issues. They did offer to fix so I came back and I hear another female complaining about her nails as well. Justin never takes off the original polish and then puts more gel on top. I can still see darkened damaged top coat from the first session. I go back then next day at 1pm because Justin told me I can come back at that time and the owner said "we are busy, come back" ummm no ma'am! You will fix my nails today. Justin then removes the polish and all of them are asking me to now pick another color because something is wrong with it. I pick color 719. Again the color has darkened but the nail looks lumpy. I paid a total of 125 dollars for service and I have been getting nails done for years so I know what it's supposed to look like. I made my appointment on this past Friday for today, Memorial Day (May 27th). I immediately put it on my calendar for 11:00am. I arrive early for my appointment and wait 20 minutes only to find out that they had booked me for the day prior. No apology was given. Only repeating that they called me yesterday when I didn't show up. I have been a faithful patron for years!! I'm a part of their rewards club. I finally found a nail tech that I like (Hailey) and instead of them trying to make it right, it was my fault that they booked me for the wrong date. In this day and time, most businesses have confirmation text messages, they do not. So be warned, if they mess up your appointment, it will be your fault and expect you to simply reschedule. I will never be back and neither will my friends and family who I've bought to the salon and who are now regulars. After hearing about my experiences, they will no longer be support this business. Summary: Poor quality overall. I got a dip polish set in which I had to go back 2 days later because the finish was grainy and dull. They "fixed" the problem by applying gel top coat. And guess what? Yep 4 days later gel started to peel. Oh and a broken nail. All in 6 days time. I didn't even bother calling or going back. Don was my technician. If I could give Zero stars, I would! It forces you to give at least one star for the review to post. I went to get my eyebrows waxed on March 16th. My regular tech was not there so I selected another familiar tech. She quickly told the young lady she was not available and told her to do it. I ended up sustaining a severe burn on my eyelids (well below my actual eyebrow line! One eye was injured more than the other. (Please see pictures...initial, days later and weeks later) It's been a month and I am still looking at a major scar! I understand mistakes happen but I am more agitated about the lack of customer care! I spoke with Yvonne who I was told was the manager. I have been twice already and I am looking for a other salon. The work is fine. Each time I got a pedicure and the service was completed by men (different one each time), which was not an issue for me. My issue with this salon is COVID protocol. There are some things that do not need to stop even if we have 100% vaccination or it just goes away. They do not sanitize the chairs between guests. I have seen someone leave and a new guest be seated in the same chair a little while later (w/o it even being wiped down). Also, this sight says they do temperature checks. I was not checked either time. I can be this picky because I have gotten my feet done in a salon where all of my tools came out of a small one-use package (file, sponge, etc.) and ALLLL products were pre-portioned. Otherwise, pretty good place. I would return, if they changed some things. read more
