After going to many dealerships to look for a car, I landed on Capistrano Mazda. I was teetering back and forth between a few cars but Mazda was the car brand I wanted to buy. I brought my dad with me to take me and help me out with getting the best price! We went around 6pm at night so it was dark outside. Earlier that day I test drove the exact year, model, and make which made the decision easier. Diego was the car salesmen that helped us with the specific Mazda 3 hatchback I was looking at. He was very helpful and filled with a ton of knowledge about the car I wanted to buy. The one thing I like about Mazda is they don't have a luxury car brand attached to them. Which allows the brand itself to include a lot of luxurious features. The car I was looking at a Deep Crystal Blue Mica with Greige leatherette. Having light interior was a bit concerning for me in the beginning but gave the car a more luxurious feel. The sticker price was out of my price limit but I really wanted the car. I got the paperwork all printed out and Diego lowered the price even before I asked. I was pleasantly surprised that the amount was in my price range. Another thing about this dealership that I liked is the fact that they directly worked with my bank. Made the whole car buying process a lot easier. I had some prior commitments planned for the night so I didn't have the time to buy the car the same day I came in. I did however test drive the car and fell in love again with how it drove. Diego was very understanding and I told him I'd be back in the morning to purchase the car. It was nice having the night to think the decision over. He gave me his number if I had any questions for him. I saw the same model with dark interior on their website later that night and decided to shoot him a message about the availability of that specific car. He got back to me and told me the car was available and I was able to check it out once they opened. They just got the car traded in so it was not up to the resell standards yet. The car was filled with a bunch of trash but was still in very good condition. The dark interior was nice but I really did prefer the light interior. I decided to pull the trigger on the car I viewed the previous night. It was my first big girl purchase which was both exciting and a bit nerve-racking. Diego made the car buying process easier. He was also very personal and had a great personality. We were both talking about the many concerts he's been to along with some other artist. He wasn't like most car salesmen who are aggressive and want to sell just to sell a car. I knew that it would be a couple hours to sign the paperwork which was totally fine with me. It was my first time ever purchasing a Mazda and that was the best dealership out of all the ones I went to. The salesman/manager that assisted me with the paperwork was also very personal and funny too! He said he just started working at that dealership not too long ago but worked at a different dealership previously.I wish I remembered his name because he was great! This review is long overdue, purchased my 2020 Mazda MX-5 Miata from Capistrano Mazda on January 8th, 2021, and had a 5-star amazing experience from start to finish. The sales rep that I worked with was Farouz Mohisefat, and she was excellent! She was very responsive to my emails, and was very polite, professional, and honest. Since I don't live close to the dealership (I live about 65 miles away in Glendale!) I wanted to make sure that we had an agreed-upon price before I headed down to the dealership. We were able to agree on a deal via email and phone, and when I showed up in person, I was happy to find that the price and terms were honored! There were no "misunderstandings" about the pricing; no unexpected fees; no miscalculations... the out-the-door figures matched exactly what Farouz and I had discussed. The finance manager that I worked with was AJ Jamshidi, and he was top-notch. He was very polite and had a great sense of humor, all while remaining professional. Super knowledgeable, and he was not pushy at all (unlike some other finance managers I've worked with over the years at other dealerships). He explained all the paperwork thoroughly as we went over it, and answered all questions I had. The wonderful customer service experience continued even after all the paperwork was signed and completed: Farouz took me to my new car, provided me with all necessary owner's manuals & stuff, and explained many things about the car and how to get started/setup. She even took the time to setup the Mazda app on my phone. I can tell that both Farouz and AJ are very caring people: they really went the extra mile to make me a happy customer. Farous and AJ were literally the last employees at the dealership that night, because they had stayed beyond closing to make sure I was taken care of properly (got there like 30 min before closing because the drive from LA to Capistrano after work took longer than anticipated). Never once did I feel like they were rushing me. Mazda has been revamping their dealerships (at least in Southern California), and they all have a very modern, almost identical (if not identical) aesthetic and feel. This revamp extends into their online price quoting system AND the system used to generate and complete paperwork with the finance manager, and I believe this is part of why the experience felt so streamlined and transparent. However, majority of why I had such a good car buying experience is because of Farouz and AJ. Car buying can be a difficult, stressful experience, but if do your research and and prepare properly, it can be a breeze... especially at Capistrano Mazda. If you're in the market for a Mazda and you live in Southern California, go to Capistrano Mazda. Ask for Farouz. It's worth the drive, and you will be happy you came here. I was thinking of getting a 2025 Mazda CX 5 and contacted Capistrano Mazda via online. I said to Juliane Moore that I had a 2022 Mazda CX 5, fully paid, with only 3100 miles on it. How much will they pay me for it if I were to purchase a 2025 Mazda CX 5? I also inquired if the 2025 model had a touchscreen navigation system as I really disliked the pesky, antiquated toggle that came with the 2022 model. I was given a choice of communication, via email or via telephone. I clearly chose email. The following morning I was getting several "phone calls" which surprised me. I ignored them. Forouz sent me an email stating "they had a 2022 Mazda CX 5 with a low mileage", etc. Then I got a video of the said "2022" Mazda CX 5 made especially for me. She expressed looking forward to talking about the said Mazda. I could not believe what I was reading. I sent them back an email telling them "I owned a 2022 Mazda CX 5". Why would I want to look at another 2022 Mazda CX 5? I received a subsequent email from a "manager", Thomas Deering, checking on how my car shopping experience was going. Obviously, it wasn't going good, if they keep trying to sell me a 2022 Mazda CX 5 when I was looking for a 2025 Mazda CX 5. Stossel did say 80% of high school graduates in America are functional illiterates. Unbelievable that I could not get some simple questions answered before I drive the distance to their dealership. Was dealing with mr KATZ. I found car and negotiated price. Was going to have to sale car to car max for 11,600 as they would only do 9,235. I was going to buy was sold out from underneath me. Then offered one coming in. So when I was told this I went to my local dealer HELLO MAZDA and they gave me car max trade value and a model higher with sunroof and all. Only thing I lost out on was the forced gps, one year service got 3 instead of 4 and no trailer hitch. So I saved between 2,212 to 5780 dollars read more

SO VERY DISAPPOINTED! We have two Mazdas and we WERE very happy UNTIL the paint on the trunk of our CX9 started to bubble and peel. When we purchased the vehicle we were highly encouraged (pressured) to buy an Eckbond treatment to maintain the paint. (Buyer beware - do NOT purchase!) First we reached out to Eckbond who would not cover it as they said the paint was defective. So then we went to Capo Mazda and were promised a phone call from the manager - never happened. We followed up again and after multiple phone calls were referred to corporate as Capo Mazda couldn't help. The corporate office offered $300 off a nearly $3000 quote for repainting just the trunk. (The peeling is limited to the trunk only.) I responded with an email expressing our concern about the cost, questioning Eckbond's responsibility, and inquiring why they pushed this service so much if it doesn't cover anything. My original/main contact, Ben Deming, is an absolute ROCKSTAR, and personally "white glove" delivered my stunning 2020 Miata RF GT in "sparkling, iridescent unicorn white"/red nappa leather to my doorstep in San Diego the next day at no charge. During my time with Ben, I had his full attention for the several hours that he spent reviewing/signing paperwork with me in my living room, then driving both my 1999 Miata and the new 2020 Miata RF GT to Sunset Cliffs for a scenic photo shoot with both cars, and THEN training on/setup of all of the features of the new car with a gorgeous ocean view. Bought a brand new car here. The place is clean, and the people are friendly. My sales guy was easy to talk to and negotiate with. Getting the bottom line price of the car was very straightforward, *initially*. When you get to the finance department to sign, I suggest you do the following: - Ask for the bottom line price again before even signing anything. The way they show you monthly payments is a little misleading (in my experience, I was told my monthly payment would go up some amount of dollars but did not mention the term will be extended by a number of months) - Related to the above, ask for a breakdown of the bottom line price to make sure you are paying for what you think you're paying for - Do not sign anything electronically through their iPad, as it obscures the truth in lending disclosure and other important bits about the transaction that you might want to see again or review. Ask to sign on paper, physically - Before you drive off, review your paperwork again and make sure everything's correct Learned from experience here. The whole time I thought I was going to pay X amount of dollars, but when I got home to review the paperwork, turns out I ended up paying more. I asked them to cancel those extras immediately and they did, so it wasn't that bad. However, I would've saved myself the headache if I had done the things I listed above in the first place. Overall I got a nice car for a good price after the hiccup I had. I'm sure you'll get the 5 star experience when you go here, just watch out for the landmines I mentioned above. Finding out I paid more than what I expected when I got home put a sour taste in my mouth, but again, they fixed it in the end. read more

For context, I wanted a 2022 Honda Civic hatchback, and many Honda dealers were charging about $40,000 out-the-door (lol, its an economy car, thats insane). Found out about this place. Payed MSRP for a 2022 CX5 Carbon edition. I worked with Otto, he was fantastic. They do not push add-ons and they are honest people. If I buy a Mazda again, I will come back. I would never take my Mazda to this stealership! CX9 has less than 36K miles and the check engine light has already came on. Thought it would be a good idea to take it into the stealership and see what triggered the light after the car had troubles idling. Hugo Diaz's auto response was "It's not covered under warranty". It takes less than 2 seconds to plug into the car to see what caused the issue. Mr. Diaz says this is a "diagnostic" and the flat fee is $200. In my book $200 for 2 seconds worth of work is theft. I don't know what customer would call this customer service? I consider this customer disservice from the stealership. Great job Hugo! Just lost another customer. read more

I made multiple calls to them to for these last 6 months trying to get them to cancel my extended warranty without any response. Capistrano Mazda is the type of dealerships that gives the car buying experience a bad rap. My wife and I drove from the inland empire to this dealership because they had a special on the internet for a Mazda CX-9. When we arrived the vehicle was available and we decided to purchase. We came pre-approved from our credit union and had their check in hand and only needed to fill in the car info and amount. The dealership was insisting that they needed to run our credit even though we already stated we had financing in place. Then the "finance manager came over and said even though we were using our credit union for financing, they still had to run our credit because what if the check bounced. What??? When I suggested that all he had to do was call the credit union to confirm he said that was not their policy. He then said if I didn't let them run our credit we couldn't purchase the car. Bye What a bunch of bologna. This was the 3rd car I purchased though my credit union and this is the first time I ever experienced this. I have a feeling that since it was a sale vehicle we were purchasing, their profit on the car was minimal and they wanted the finance $$ as well. Stay away from here, there are a lot of reputable car dealerships out there, unfortunately this is not one of them. read more
