On 6/26/2026 around 5:30pm, I visited Capital Chevrolet to see a 2020 BMW 740i listed for $26,799, stock #9C05525B, dealer fees included, listed on Autotrader. I was quickly greeted by Brandon Gonzales, who was friendly and quickly showed me the vehicle, which was just traded for a Corvette and not reconditioned. I expressed interest in purchasing the vehicle, as I've already driven them, and was ready to buy it outright, but needed to see if it fit in my garage. He explained that it wasn't ready for me to drive, but I could do all of the paperwork upfront. When it was ready in a couple of days, I could test drive and if I like it, could just take it quickly. I agreed, and he wanted to talk numbers. I said that I would agree to purchase it for what it was listed for on Autotrader, and to verify that the cost was all in with dealer fees. This is where it takes a turn. He took my phone and left for a few minutes to show his manager. He came back with some made up BS story about how he doesn't know how the Autotrader ad came to be, that he doesn't know where that pricing came from, and implied that the pricing wasn't from their team. I told him that you have to pay for an Autotrader ad, so they had to have made it, it doesn't appear out of thin air. Basically, they said they wouldn't agree to the price that they advertised the car for, so I left. I understand mistakes happen, but to lie to my face and insult my intelligence is just poor salesmanship, and if they're willing to lie about making an honest mistake, how can you trust this dealership to do the right thing for the customer? I recently purchased a 2026 Silverado 2500 ZR2 from Randy at Capital Chevrolet, and unfortunately it was the worst buying experience I have ever had with any dealership. We negotiated what I believed was a fair deal, but when the paperwork arrived, an additional ~$3,000 in questionable add-on fees had been inserted without being discussed upfront. After escalating the issue to the sales manager, we eventually reached an agreement -- but it should never have happened in the first place. When I returned to pick up the truck, I signed all of the paperwork and then waited nearly two hours for the vehicle to be brought around. To my surprise, the truck was delivered without running boards, an item I expected to be standard on an $89,900 vehicle. When I asked Randy about it, I was told they were not included and could be added for an additional $1,100. At that point, I felt completely misled. I have never been treated this way by a dealership. This was my second Silverado 2500 purchased from Capital Chevrolet, and it will absolutely be my last. I went in a couple days ago to get an appraisal on my car and mentioned looking around to Sammy since the car and insurance together was $1,000. I mentioned wanting a cheaper car payment and cheaper insurance. I did not ONCE mention buying a vehicle TODAY. They had me look at a 2026 Trax and a 2024 Equinox. Only liked the equinox. They decided to go ahead and get me pre-approved for a car I didn't want or like and kept pressuring me to get the car. Joe and Sammy were both at the desk trying to pressure me into getting the car, which I did not appreciate at all. I understand salesmen get commission but the level of pressuring was uncalled for. Do NOT buy an extended warranty from Willie in the finance department, regardless of how good he makes it sound. He will tell you it's "bumper to bumper coverage," and it absolutely is NOT the case. He also will not call you back or return emails regarding a payment he promised to take care of when the warranty does not cover something. The responsible, right thing to do is to at least acknowledge and respond to the customer and admit that you made a mistake. First these assholes screw up my truck by neglecting to clean up brake fluids on the frame that is obvious as daylight and any mechanic with common sense would know needs to be neutralized before it eats all the freaking paint away. My car recently spent 6 days in service with no offer of a loaner or even the shuttle service which I later learned about. In my many, MANY hours of waiting on site; I witnessed the unprofessional explosive behaviour of a female staffer yelling at a co-worker and numerous examples of dysfunction born of poor communication and a general lack of accountability. It had a major oil leak, one there is no way wouldn't have been noticed in an inspection. The entire engine needed to be resealed. They swore they'd do right on anything their inspection missed. They did not, even after it being in their service department 3 times. Then Reuben, in sales swore he'd make it right. His idea of "make it right" was to try to sell us a vehicle for another $10K. They didn't care until I left a negative Google review. Then Jay reached out. Then ignored me for 2 months. Then asked for a service report from my mechanic. I got that from him and then he pretty much accused me of lying about all of this. This dealership does not care about anything but getting your money. Run far away. I am incredibly disappointed with the service I received from the service department. My husband and I dropped off our brand-new 2025 Chevrolet Equinox for a scheduled 8:00 AM appointment to address serious issues, including shaking at speeds over 60 mph and alignment problems. We'd had the vehicle for less than two weeks at the time, so we expected prompt and professional service. We specifically asked our advisor to keep us updated, but no one reached out to either of us the entire day. I finally called around 4:30 PM, only to be given the runaround. I was transferred multiple times and sent to voicemail repeatedly. This lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable, especially for a brand-new vehicle and at a dealership we trusted. The dealership's service department kept the car for an additional day and performed an alignment. They claimed the alignment fixed the problem and even noted in their service report that the issue was resolved after a test drive. However, when we reviewed the paperwork, we noticed that the mileage in and out was exactly the same. When questioned later, they admitted that no one had driven the vehicle, contradicting the service report. How could the dealership's service department fail to identify such a basic issue with their own vehicle? This blatant lack of transparency and accountability is beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. When we picked the vehicle back up and noticed it was still shaking, we brought it right back. The Sales Manager, James Russo, gave us a loaner vehicle and assured us he would personally make sure the issue was handled. Despite this, they kept our vehicle for an entire week, and during that time, no one called to update us. I had to reach out myself, and they finally told me the car was ready. However, when I picked it up again, the shaking issue was still unresolved. Frustrated, we took the car to Firestone to have them diagnose the issue. It took them less than an hour to determine that the problem was due to two bad tires--an issue that Capital Chevrolet's service department failed to identify despite having the vehicle in their possession for over a week with no real solution. How is it that another company was able to identify the issue so quickly, while Capital Chevrolet's service department completely failed to do so? Now, it's time for me to make my first payment on a vehicle I haven't even had for a full week since purchasing it. This entire experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and completely shattered my trust in this dealership. After dealing with the service department, I will NEVER buy another vehicle from this dealership, nor will I refer anyone to come here. Clear communication, basic accountability, and proper diagnosis of a vehicle's issues should be standard practice, and yet, none of these expectations were met. It's disappointing because my initial experience with the sales department was phenomenal. On 11/14/24, I decided to trade in my 2024 Honda HR-V and purchased the Chevrolet Equinox. Both Frankie Reyes and Finance Manager Will Perry provided excellent service, making the process smooth, stress-free, and enjoyable. Frankie went above and beyond to make the process seamless, while Will Perry ensured we felt supported and valued throughout the entire transaction. Their professionalism and dedication to exceptional service left me feeling confident and reassured in my decision. Unfortunately, the service department's complete lack of communication, transparency, and failure to resolve such a critical issue has erased any positive feelings I once had about this dealership. First, the only reason the $225 charge was adjusted is because I spoke up and questioned the pricing. There was no proactive transparency or explanation offered--only silence until I pressed the issue. I clearly stated that I did not authorize any additional work beyond the oil change and that I would return to pick up my vehicle. Despite this, the services were performed anyway, directly against my explicit instructions. This is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about your business practices.You stated that supporting documentation was provided, but the intake photos were incomplete--they only showed a portion of the front driver side wheel and window. The photos failed to include any images of the rear driver side wheel (where the caps are now missing) or the bottom of the front driver side door and running board, where new damage was discovered after service. The video sent was a low-quality recording of a video, not clear surveillance footage, and it offered no definitive insight.You also failed to address the fact that I explicitly told your advisor not to perform the services, yet they were done anyway. At that point, I felt forced to pay for services I did not authorize just to avoid further conflict and inconvenience. That is not resolution--that is coercion.The tire rotation was done poorly, leading to noticeable shaking at highway speeds, and I had to seek assistance elsewhere to correct it. It has been nearly a full day and we have NOT HEARD FROM EITHER!! Apparently, either Capital Chevrolet is not interested in selling cars or, once you hit 'manager' status in that company, you get to sit behind your desk, in your comfy windowed office and not have to interact with prospective customers. DO NOT HAVE ELYSIA MCMILLIAN AS YOUR ADVISOR I brought my car here for a diagnostic and had an issue with not being communicated well with. My car was there for service on a Friday and Elysia neglected to advise me by end of business that my car would be staying there through the weekend. I planned to call myself for updates before end of business but didn't realize service closed before the dealership and missed my window to call, (a fact I later tried to bring up to the manager Anne Morrell but was cut off as she didn't seem interested in actually hearing or understanding me). Elysia also neglected to let me know that their Saturday team is not able to provide updates and that I would have to wait until Monday for an update. On Saturday I called three times, was told an advisor was available to speak to me just to be sent to voicemail when transferred. The receptionist advised she would put in a request for somebody to call me back. After waiting six hours I called back just to be told they operate with a skeleton crew, and no one would be able to give me an update until Monday, which I again found poor communication. When I brought this up to Ann Morrell she completely ignored it. I never got any acknowledgment or apology for the lack of communication she just simply stated "yes we have less crew on Saturdays" I had to say multiple times throughout my interaction with the manager manager that my issue was not the policies, but the lack of proper communication. However, she continued to spout off policies and procedures. There was also misunderstanding and miscommunication around fees applied leading to me being surprised at a $63 additional fee. Elysia had just texted me a minute prior to advise of the amount, yet it took me 3 calls and 3 follow up texts before she answered her line. (Throughout my service she was not very easy to get on the phone at all making texting the main form of communication.)Upon bringing my issues to Elysia's attention, I was met with non-accountability and passive aggressiveness leading me to ask to speak with her manager. Her manager Anne Morrell was just as unhelpful and showcased the same lack of accountability and understanding, at one point even sighing and rolling her eyes in exasperation as it was the end of her shift and I assume going home was more important than taking the time to understand and PROPERLY address my concerns as a customer. Having not been held accountable for her lack of communication and poor customer service and being propped up with flimsy excuses from management Elysia was emboldened to continue being disrespectful in her tone as I was leaving. On my way out, I was treated to more of Elysia's passive aggressive tones in the continuous comments she made as I exited the office I had to ignore her attempts to goad me or rub in the fact that she was not held accountable. Since I am an adult, rather than engaging in a back and forth with someone clearly too immature to be in customer service I chose to share my experience here with potential customers to warn them to proceed with caution. My review specifically involves the service dept; but I would NEVER buy any vehicle here either, as this doesn't seem to be a reputable business. I was interested in a Chevy Silverado on a used car lot. As a non-local buyer, the seller gave me one option only for a Pre-Purchase Inspection: the service dept of the closest GM dealership. Unfortunately, that was Capital. My appointment was yesterday at 12:30. I was told it would take 2 hrs max. A few minutes after 5pm, my "service advisor", Kristine, texted to tell me the truck wouldn't be ready until today. So I assumed I'd hear from them this morning. Nope. I didn't try to contact them again until after 2pm, but Kristine wouldn't take or return my calls. The owners of the truck (whose calls had also been ignored) finally got Kristine on the phone so I could cancel the inspection via 3-way and they could retrieve their truck. I'd arranged transportation to Raleigh today, pending the inspection report I should've received yesterday. Horrible experience. Put in a lead on a vehicle and told them when I'd be there. When I arrived I was greeted by a gentleman on a golf cart and I told them I had an appointment with the internet rep, his response was "are looking to make a deal today or just look at numbers". I told him I wanted to look at numbers and if the deal was good we could wrap something up. He pointed at the receptionist area, who was very polite. She called several people to come assist, about 10 min later a sales rep showed up and said I'll be with you in a minute and to take a seat in the waiting area. About 10 minutes later he shows up. Asked me what I was looking at. Immediately starts asking questions about trade, down payment and credit before I even looked at the vehicle. I was there 45 minutes and never seen the vehicle or any vehicle in question. The numbers they gave me were thousands apart from other dealers. Wanted 13k down opposed to another dealership who said 3k to get to the payment I wanted. For the same vehicle, same price. They low balled my trade in roughly 4k from other dealerships. I don't recommend this dealership at all. We will not bring our vehicles here for service, I'll drive further out. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE! read more

When you try to buy it they say it is available for MSRP but only if you purchase about $5000 of bullshit markup items like interior 3M coating and nitrogen for the tires. 7/22/2024: Since I haven't purchased a new/used vehicle in a long while, my 7/20/2024 car purchase experience at Capital Chevrolet Raleigh NC may be a normal UNETHICAL practice in the dealership industry now. Regardless, it is WRONG. The advertised price of the 2022 used vehicle was the same across multiple resources. However, when we entered the door to obtain the final purchase price which included tax, tax and title, an extra "ACCESSORY" charge of $1,694 was added on. When asked what this was, we were told it was for the following that the dealership added to the vehicle "3M Tint, Capital 3M Protection $596, Capital Vip $398, Nitre $200". I said I didn't ask for anything added. It wasn't the advertised price and we didn't want it. It was a BAIT & SWITCH tactic. I asked: WHY DIDN'T YOU INCLUDE THAT IN THE ADVERTISED PRICE if that was what you wanted someone to pay? They said it was a service they provided. BS. The tinting was ORIGINAL FROM THE MANUFACTURER. I said remove 100% of this charge and I will purchase the vehicle without a bad review. They continued to waste my time and ended up getting $350 extra. So here is my review! I am good on my word. Not the best choice for an out of state purchase. I was told on several occasions that they were the #1 dealership in the East. However, I felt like they were not flexible as far as alternatives to get the final paperwork complete. This is a nice-looking place. Very expensive for diagnostics and repairs or anything. Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I have used them about 4 times, each time hoping it would be better, it's not. They neglect to return calls, unless it's to tell you how much money is involved. I was looking at a Timing belt change, and for that they quoted me the whole repair package of $5000! I got other quotes for $1600 within the neighborhood from reputable places with more service stars. I would not recommend this place to anyone who didn't need to go here. I once even had an Associate Service person, talk to me as if I was no one and someone else had to replace him that day. All because I waited over 2 hours for my paperwork to be completed and signed by the Mechanic before I could pay and check out, after I was called and told my paperwork was ready and car. Bought a $35,000 truck in July 2021. Washed it one time and found rust all over the bottom and frame. It was hidden from me on purchase. Took it for an estimate at Carolina Collisions where they quoted me $11,600 worth of rust damage. Entire cab has to be replaced as it's one piece, the entire frame is also rusted and was sprayed with a cheap black paint that is now chipping off and showing all the rust. Capital Chevrolet won't pay for the repair and won't work with me on a solution. Complete dealer fraud hiding this from a customer and not willing to make this right. 0/5 worst vehicle buying experience I've ever had. Pictures show the day I got it, you can't see any rust because of the paint hiding in. Second picture is after 1 wash. Metal is so rusted and weak a hole showed up. Brought my 08 Hummer in for check engine light and check stabilitk lights. Spent almost $1500 to fix. Didn't drive much because it was second vehicle. Started to drive and same issue came back. I brought it back to Capital and they kept it for two months and at the end their response was that they drove it 60 miles with no check engine. I picked it up and proceeded home of which I broke down 2 miles from my house. I videoed the lights and sent it to my service advisor Elisa. His response was he sent someone out to drive it with no lights. I replied the video of the break down was the day I picked it up. Last communication. Service advisor and service manager ignored me. I contacted Capital Chevrolet the other day to get some recall work done on my Chevrolet Suburban. I provided all the necessary information to the service technician, and was then immediately placed on hold for about five minutes as he verified if the parts needed to correct the Recall were in stock. Five minutes later he came back and said that he was unable to get in contact with their parts department would have to give me a call back. I provided in my telephone number and as of two days later I have not heard any response. I have been trying to find a reliable service technician that can work on my Suburban but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the case at least at Capital Chevrolet. You would seem to think that as a commercial state customer service is paramount, but it would not take 48 to 72 hours to get a reply to see if the recall work can be conducted. Guess the next step is to find a more reliable source! read more
