Decided to check out this establishment on a Tuesday night. Great space, uniquely furnished with very cool designs. The food menu is excellent. The beer list seems to be updated daily. We ordered the Turkey Burger & Thai Chile Chicken Pizza. The burger did not come with a ginger-soy aioli, it was served with regular mayo, the pizza was well done, the presentation was amazing, had great combo of flavors. Our waitress, Gina wasn't too friendly, did not give us options or suggestions, the restaurant wasn't too busy, but we felt rushed. Our beer was brought over by another person, a guy who slammed the glasses on the table, once again with no politeness. They have a giant coal pizza oven & a decent sized bar towards the middle of the restaurant. The food is OKAY, I got chicken & waffles - was expecting better. I would HIGHLY recommend Capital Craft to anyone in area. The manager (Mike I believe) was able to accommodate our large party of 25 guests. We threw everything together last minute and they made sure to make it work. We were even provided with a private space which made the experience that much better. Not only was the food delicious, but the service was amazing. Most of us got sandwiches/other handhelds items and everyone there enjoyed their meal. The appetizer were great too. Definitely try the cheese curds, buffalo wings and Yuca fries. Huge shoutout to our server, Ryan. He got stuck with our huge party that not only order a ton of food and drinks, but asked to split the bill. We're an energetic group and Ryan was such a team player. He was patient with us, did not give us a hard time about splitting the check, and made sure to consistently check up on everyone. I commend him for his politeness and willingness to make sure we were comfortable. Our private space was upstairs so he and a few other servers had to keep running up and down the stairs. Even then, the food and drinks were perfect. I was honestly surprised at how quickly the food came out too being that we had ordered so much. Went here with some friends and I liked the open design of the place. Ordered the cheese curds as an app and they are pretty much mozzarella stick bites which is not how it's supposed to be. Good nonetheless but not like other cheese curds I've had. At first I was impressed with their beer menu until I looked at the prices. Many are served in these baby 8oz glasses but they charge as if it's for 16oz. Maybe if you don't know craft beer and the local NJ breweries this seems reasonable, but it's not. It's not reasonable, it's almost infuriating. It's insulting actually because they are assuming their customers who order a craft or local beer won't know how ludicrous it is for what they are charging. Example: A 5% sour for $8 in an 8 oz. glass. Total joke. And when I asked about that the waiter said that's how the local brewery wants it, which is total baloney because I go to that brewery and have had their beers on tap elsewhere and that is not the case. The beers here are absurdly too expensive for the cheapo amount they give you. As for the food, my main course was very good. I had steak tips with rice and asparagus in a mushroom sauce. My friends enjoyed their meals as well. The service was spotty- our guy would disappear for long amounts when we'd need him for water refills or another drink, then we'd spot him leaning against what looks like a raw bar having a chat with other servers. The bill was messed up- we were undercharged for my friend's turkey burger but overcharged on some of my beers- for example, $9.50 instead of the menu price of $7.50, but it sort of evened out so we didn't say anything. I recommend the pizza. My table enjoyed the chicken sandwich and hated the stuffed chicken. The stuffed chicken was dry like they cooked it the day before or someone ordered it that morning and changed their mind and gave it to us when we ordered it. The stuff chicken wasn't good.. the pizza however was amazing! It was the best pizza I ever had.. the chicken sandwich was good too... the beer prices are a little steep for what you get. But my high rating is based on the pizza.. I ordered a margarita pizza with pepperoni.. when I say it was delicious, I mean it was phenomenal. Hats off to the chef. They also have a good selection of tavern fare burger and sandwich options, wings, and gluten-free dinner specials. The rustic-chic look has plenty of space for different sized groups and offers a good amount of TV's to catch sporting events on in the bar area. They also have a small patio area opened in the summer with some great mood lighting for a little more intimate feel along with a private room upstairs for their special events. Parking is plentiful, though be aware you drive in at the second entryway, as the first one is supposed to be an exit only, not that everyone catches on to that as quickly as others. This place was very pleasant. The bar had a good amount of seats and had plenty of tables throughout the restaurant along with outdoor seating. I sat outside on a very nice evening. The menu had a ton of options. The service was also well appreciated. I only had the chips 'n guac ($8). It consisted of their homemade guacamole and corn tortilla chips. My only complaint about the dish was the amount of guacamole that was given. There was a poor balance of guacamole to chips. Other than that, it all tasted delicious. We went here a couple times a few years back on football Sundays and I recall it was decent. Stopped by for lunch on Memorial Day weekend and it was meh at best. It was fairly dead and servers were pretty disinterested, just looking at their phones at whatnot. This is my second time as this restaurant & I must say it isn't for me. For one my girlfriends order was wrong (she asked for her burger well done & it was medium). My brother in laws order was also missing bacon from his order. I completely understand when it's busy mistakes can happen but more then one in my opinion is unacceptable. My food was bland, very over priced & I find most of the food on the menu to be over priced. Also we asked the waitress to split the bill in a specific way & she just split it down the middle. If you want a juicy, tasty, huge turkey burger for lunch served with awesome french fries then you have to come here. Capital Craft has a $10 lunch menu with an assortment that left me wanting to come to back and try more menu items. My friends and I chose to come here for lunch on our day off because we have heard only good things and recommendations from others. We knew that we wanted a beer and this is where we ended up. I have been here a few times and it really is a hit or miss. We ordered the guacamole, which should be pretty simple to make however this had to have been the worst guacamole I have ever had. It had huge chunks of onion in it and way to much lime or lemon. All you could taste was acid and onions. Awful. We then ordered the Mahalo pizza which was outstanding! Great mix of flavors. Totally made up for the bad guacamole. It's an okay place if you want to stop for drinks or a bite but it really depends on the day and what you order. I stopped here last month for a quick lunch and I was very pleasantly surprised. The place was quiet (it was mid-week) and service was very quick. They have a good draft beer selection with lots of local brews and the beers are very reasonably priced. I had a few really good ones, including a cider that's brewed just for Capital Craft. My fried chicken sandwich was pretty good, though it was a bit fatty since it was dark meat and not white meat; it still tasted good overall though. My wife, my 5 year old daughter, and I, love Capital Craft. Let me start by complimenting our server Ashley, she is incredibly good at her job and her memory is outstanding. The manager came over to check on us from time to time even though it was extremely busy, I believe his name was Mike. Both of them were very hospitable and friendly, I was compelled to compliment them in person. I'm not a drinker, but my wife says the selection of beer and combinations of liquor and drinks they provide are so unique and surprisingly good. She chooses a different drink every time we come just so she can see what other pleasant surprise she will experience. And lastly, the chef and his crew. Although the bartender was nice, there was clearly a major backup at the kitchen. From the bar, I could see dishes piling up in the pick up location and confused servers trying to figure out what was going on. Two other sets of diners (who ordered after we did) got their meals before us. My sandwich was on the shelf for a very long time before it was delivered. Even when we got the food, there was nothing special. My smoked brisket sandwich was burnt and the fries were cold and bland. Great Burger Night! After eating at Capital Craft probably 8 times over the last two years, I thought it was high time to give them a nice review. Capital Craft is a great destination to go to for Burgers, Wings, and Wood fired pizza...and of course craft beers! The food is always tasty, hot and fresh. The fries (Truffle and Regular) are to die for! We especially like Burger Night on Tuesdays because most of their burgers are $5 and a side is just another $2. Burger night is not advertised any longer, so you have to ask for it. The hand crafted beer flights are also nice because you get to sample 4 beers for $10. I think the amount is 4 ounces per beer, so its plenty to drink and nice to sample different tasting beers. The manager is always on premise and typically stops by to see how your meal is. My only complaint...I realize it is much cooler to serve a little stainless steel container of Ketchup, but just get some Heinz bottles for the table. They always are happy to bring you more Ketchup, but I don't like to have to ask for it! read more

Was so excited when this place opened because I love a burger place with a good beer selection, but after the first couple visits over a year ago, the service has gone progressively downhill while the prices have risen. I recently went with my husband on a relatively quiet Sunday night. Our waitress didn't come to even take our drink order for 15 solid minutes, and by the time my soup came out cold I was so hungry I just dealt with it instead of sending it back. Our waitress was apologetic (they had a possibly brand new chef or back of house runner?!) but every single other person we dealt with - from the apathetic hostess who straight up ignored us at the door, to the bartender who never bothered with my husband's second beer - didn't seem to care at all that we were having a miserable time. The food was alright but there was at least 15 minutes between acknowledgement by any service staff. Two hours and seventy bucks later, we decided we wouldn't be back. Go for happy hour and sit at the bar, but don't bother for dinner until they overhaul the wait staff. It's not worth the money. read more

When this place first opened, it was incredible. My husband and I had been a few times - both alone and with friends, and it did not disappoint. The pizza was delicious and their crab dip was one of the best I'd ever had. One day we went back, and it was just bad. The service was slow, management seemed lost and the food was just not good. I asked about the menu since it was different, and the server stated there was a new owner/chef. That was all I needed to know. We stopped going. Until this week when we wanted to grab a bite and decided it had been over a year, let's give it a shot. I will say, our server Robert was incredible. He made the experience great, but the food is just not good. The pretzel bites were flavorless and with 'fresh out the microwave' texture, and the pizza was just ok. We ordered another app with plantains, I was not a fan, and I love plantains. Beer selection is great and the ambiance was upbeat with good music. Love the burgers and beer variety but soooo disappointed in the new "pint" glasses that only hold 12 ounces of beer For a restaurant that charges for beer by various ounce sizes to start cheating customers by 25% is shameful! Good rotating craft beer selection and good apps. We shared the pretzel bites and the cheese curds. Cheese curds are essentially cut up mozzarella sticks, so there's nothing to not like about that! I think they could have used more cheese, as they were mostly made of breading. Restaurant is new, nicely decorated, and has a relaxed atmosphere. Busboys need to learn tact - they don't need to take every plate and glass off your table as soon as you're done with it. I understand that you want to turn tables over but i was literally asked today if I was "Done with that" after every individual plate or glass had a minimal amount of food or drink left. read more

Had to walk out today. Went for lunch. Ordered an ice tea and a beer. The beer was slow to come as the waitress said the bartender was swamped. Real swamped she was busy chatting up the only 3 guys at the bar. Beer finally arrives a craft beer in a beer mug. Who serves a craft beer in a mug , hello can you say pint glass? As an aside it was a Yuengling mug, I ordered a Fiddlehead. Just a pet peeve of mine serving beer in a labeled glass. All that I could gloss over, however this I could not. The beer came and the outside of the glass was dirty with some sort of residue (probably food). Called the waitress back told her the glass was dirty she apologized and took it back to the bar. Now the most unprofessional and pretty disgusting thing I ever saw. The bartender looked at the dirty glass grabbed another glass and proceeded to pour the beer into the new glass. After my second visit here, today i wanted to (begrudgingly) write a review. We were in here about a month ago on what i think was a Saturday, of the holiday weekend. I was so excited to find a craft brew place that had an abundance of brews on tap that are truly craft brews. This was a BIG deal for me. We had a few appetizers at the bar with our drinks, then left thinking this could be a regular stop for us. We stopped in today after being at the club, (golf for the hubs and a drink at the bar at the club for me). We were contemplating dinner at the club or coming back here and i was super excited to head back here for a casual meal at the bar with a few drinks. I was so happy with the deviled egg trio last time that i ordered it again. We also ordered the nachos with pork belly and an order of mussels. We were told promptly that the mussels were not available. The eggs were not good, nothing like the first time. i actually think they might have filled them prior to service but this filling was not too fresh. The nachos - oh - i search for something nice to say about them but there is nothing. The pork belly... was that really pork belly? Not as i know it. And not good. They were not appealing to the eye, and sadly not to the palate either. We should have cut our losses and headed home but no, we are gluttons for punishment. We ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with mozzarella, pesto, roasted pepper. Again, didn't even look appetizing and if you can't deliver on presentation, at least make it delicious. This was not. It was just sad. The bread - maybe it's because i am a snob for good bread being married to an italian but this was disappointing all around. The thing is - this place is beautiful, it is tastefully done, and a lot of thought went into the planning and layout of the place and i hope that they can get their act together. i watched the pizzas come out, and watched them being made - houston - you have a problem - get someone back there who can make a pie because you have all the making of a great brick oven pizza but you are not delivering. Not one that we saw made us think twice about ordering, and again - you have the goods, now get someone who can deliver. While we did service at the bar, and did not experience table service - i will say that the girl behind the bar seemed to try a bit too hard and the guy was defiantly not what i would consider a good bartender. I had a few questions about some of the beers on tap, and rather than offer me a taste - i had to ask for it and he almost seemed like i was putting him out to do so. I appreciate good craft beer - i think the best comes from Southern California - San Diego, but i had hoped that this place was going to have the feel of all those amazing craft brew stops - and aesthetically - yes but that is where it stops. This place is awesome. I've gone here many times and never have been disappointed. I've gone pre COVID and during the pandemic, and nothing about the place has changed; with the exception of following all the new rules and regulations for safety. The food is always quality, the service is always above average, the management staff is so friendly, and the drinks are unique and amazing. This location has a fantastic vibe to it. Even their online delivery service is very simple to use and gets the order in efficiently and effectively. Let it be known, I will continue to go here time and time again! Food here is great! We started with the fried cheese curds, which are the perfect starter if you have kids as they are all bit sized. I had the Beer Battered Fried Chicken with chipotle mayo. But, my wife's fried chicken and sweet potato waffles were amazing. I don't like sweet potatoes and I almost took her plate from her. My sons (ages 8 & 5) split the adult portion of the mac and cheese and we still had some left over. Being a craft beer place, they offer a wide selection of quality beers. We also found out they offer a discount if you are part of the NJ craft beer club. The inside is gorgeous, but still remains a casual restaurant. The only reason it didn't get a perfect rating is because of the lack of a waiting area. We arrived at 5pm on a Saturday and there was already a 20 minute wait. We had to stand in the little vestibule which was only about 4'x8'. The inside was already filled with people.
