First we have purchased 3 new vehicles from Capital. We have all our service for these vehicles at Capital and I mean every 5000 miles. Sales department we give 5 stars. Usual back and forth with prices but ultimately you can make a deal. Service department ZERO STARS, The worst, Weeks to replace a transmission and then the shifter detent was wrong and it still jerks with a hard left turn. They wand the car for a day to fix the 10 minute shifter alignment! Any little thing they want the car for a day and that turns into several days or a week. They don't stock even the most mundane parts! One example, my wife tells the service writer the motor doesn't sound right. The reply "well it's OK if the Engine light doesn't come on" 50 miles later she is stuck on a freeway 300 miles from home with a bad fuel pump and injectors. Thanks a pant load!. read more

I have seen jiffy lubes with more competent techs. 6 weeks and counting for a oil pan gasket and we still don't have our truck back. Lets talk about their " Click to get E Price" on their website. When you click the button, then it makes you fill in all the "marketing data", in order for you to get that E Price. In the notes section I stated I wanted to E Price on a specific car they had. Then a salesman contacts me via email. Asking how they can help. I responded to that email with whats the E Price. His email replay was THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE E PRICES. WAIT??? Lets stop right here. In my humble opinion at that very moment. I realized this is their marketing ploy to bombard you with their marketing emails. Most would say they are being deceptive, some would say they are not very ethical. Which is exactly what I notified their salesman, and to REMOVE ME FROM THEIR EMAIL SYSTEM. Emails back and forth. Guess what his response was.. Well its just someone who set up our website, not my fault, make an offer on the vehicle. I dug deeper. Advising him of why would I do business with people that are being deceptive or not ethical. His response, make an offer on the car... make on offer, make an offer.. WOW... Thats their response... MAKE AN OFFER. Why am I going to make an offer, when I have not seen the vehicle yet, or is it priced at a point that encourages me to make that trip to go see, when they are literally lying to me with deceptive marketing tools. When I specifically asked if he felt the function of the "Click to Get E Price" on their website is deceptive. He avoided the question and stated he would advise management. But I am welcome to make an offer. Guess what I got this morning. A MARKETING EMAIL FROM THEM WHEN I SPECIFICALLY ASKED TO BE REMOVED. If you take your vehicle here for service, you will be disappointed. Worst communication ever. Long story short, the service department has missed three completion dates, taking 2 and a half weeks to fix my car for something that should have taken 2-3 days. They did not contact me once. I had to show up in person or repeatedly text them to get status of vehicle. Why text you ask? Because you cannot get through on a phone line. I would avoid this dealership at all costs. Overall I am completely dissatisfied with Capitol Ford. After purchasing my car, there were items that needed to be corrected. When making the service appointments, no one knows what is going on. You constantly get transferred to different departments. I had to remind every person that I talked to that it's 2 items that need to be serviced, not just 1. However when arriving to my appointment they still had no knowledge of the second item despite multiple calls and inquiries. The service department is completely lost. When dropping off my car to be serviced, no one from the service department desks even looks up to acknowledge you. Even when they do, they point to another person and say they are handling your appointment, not me. I left my car there for a 1PM service appointment and when I returned at 4PM they did ZERO service. When asking why to the "service manager", Deavalynn, her only explanation was, "your keys hit my desk an hour ago". That is not an adequate reason. When I got her on the phone later she was combative and argumentative. In my opinion, not good managerial qualities. Long story short, my car is still missing parts and they want me to return to the service department to try this all over again. He did not try to talk me out of things, and actually spent time explaining the pro's and cons between models and years. He found me the most beautiful car with every single feature I wanted, and more. All paperwork was completed prior to my arrival, and the process was wonderful. My wife and I purchased a 2022 Ford Bronco Badlands on March 13, 2025 from Capital Ford, 3660 S. Carson St. Carson City, NV 89701 The purchase price for the vehicle was $52,627.98. The milage on the vehicle at the time of purchase was 27,827 miles. We received paperwork stating that the vehicle had gone through an 89 point Blue Advantage Gold Certified Vehicle Inspection. On August 5, 2025, I purchased a Ford Protect Premium Upgrade, Gold Extended Warranty for $3000.00. In November I was notified that the vehicle was due for its 30,000 mile service via the Ford App. I was confused since I had only put less than 3000 miles on the vehicle. I contacted the service department to make sure an appointment was needed because there were other issues needing attention, eg, Battery not holding a charge, rear window not working properly, right front roof seal leaking air noise (whistling), (also noted by the technician that side of the roof is compromised and needed replacement) and rear broken speaker. The 30,000 mile service, new battery, and new roof seal totaled $3200.00. The remaining items (rear window and broken speaker) were the only issues the Ford Protect Premium Care Upgrade, Gold Extended warranty covered. Needless to say I am not a happy customer. In addition, the vehicle was in the shop for two weeks. We purchased the vehicle from the dealership so we would not be taken advantage of from a private seller. We were sold a vehicle that was 3 years old with 27,872 miles that had a 89 point Blue Advantage Gold Certified Vehicle Inspection completed, that had a bad battery, leaking roof seal with a compromised left front passenger roof panel, and the 30,000 mile service not completed. This is very disappointing, and if this is how Capital Ford and Ford Motor Company takes care of their customers, I will not purchase another Ford vehicle, as I have owned several. Taking all of this into account, we drove 3000 miles and it cost us $3200.00 and the vehicle's roof is still leaking, which the $3000.00 extended warranty won't cover. read more

Capitol Ford in Carson City refused to honor the Ford Warranty for work that had been done several months before by a Ford dealership in Montana. Our experience was similar to what Dmitry posted in February of this year. We were also lied to. During the Summer, the air conditioner compressor froze. That tore the serpentine belt that powers the other components. Our vehicle had to be towed to the Ford dealership in Montana. It sat in the dealership yard for 3 weeks. We had no place to stay while they took their time doing nothing. At the end of the third week, my wife told the general manager that I have MS and need to have a working air conditioner. Three days later, we had our vehicle back and the air conditioner was functional. Several days before we got back to Carson City, the air conditioner stopped working. My first impression was that the air conditioner was low on freon. When I took it to Capitol Ford to be recharged, one of the techs took me aside and showed me the parts that the Montana dealer had used seven months before and said that the parts had been salvaged from another vehicle. Since it was under the Ford Warranty, I authorized Capitol Ford to do the repairs. After the teardown, the Capitol Ford service advisor informed me that the work done in Montana was substandard and that the parts and labor at Capitol Ford would not be covered by the Ford Warranty. The service advisor said that we would have to send a request to the Montana dealership to return the $2000 we paid to them. She also told me that she would provide me with before and after photos and a statement that described the substandard work that the Montana dealership had done. Capitol Ford has not provided us with either the photos or a statement. I wrote to the dealership in Montana asking them to reimburse us the $2000 we paid for the parts and labor that Capitol Ford said was substandard. The Service Manager in Montana called me and was angry about our request for reimbursement. He said that what the tech at Capitol Ford told us was not true and he refused to reimburse us the $2000 we paid them to repair our air conditioner. He also said that he was thinking of filing a lawsuit against Capitol Ford for "...slander and liable". The outcome: we spent $2000 to repair the air conditioner in Montana and, because Capitol Ford refused to honor the Ford Warranty, we were forced to pay another $3000 for parts and labor. Two weeks after, the air conditioner stopped working. When I took it in under their Warranty, Capitol Ford attempted to convince me that we had to pay for parts that they had originally installed. I am inviting anyone who has taken their vehicle to Capitol Ford in Carson City, NV for repairs and been told that the dealership would not honor the Ford Warranty to contact me. Updated 2/12: I appreciate your effort; however, the car has a bumper to bumper warranty aside from brakes, windshield wipers. Did not even reset the lights they were asked to reset and tried to convince me that the alternator that came stock on the vehicle is the wrong alternator and wanted $1300 to replace it. Terrible experience with the service department. If you need work done take it elsewhere. One of their techs bolted my transmission on 3/4 of the way and sent me on my way with my brand new clutch that barely lasted 10k miles because the transmission wasnt fully seated. Came back for warranty work on that install, due to it not being done correctly, and they gave my mustang back misfiring. This happened on the first install too. Solution both times was going to the OTHER ford dealer in Reno because the Service Manager here couldnt fathom how the car may misfire after a clutch install. Turns out, the official ford instruction states that a misfire sensor must be set back to neutral following a clutch swap. 300$ diag fee in reno both times, and about 800$ spent on rentals all because they dont follow the instructions or audit repairs at all. Service Manager will just ghost you. Dude leaves the store at 1pm according to the staff. Must be nice to work a 6 hour shift and not be accountable for any of your responsibilities. Capital ford had my car for four months in 2022 for a transmission recall. I asked them if they could replace the transmission fluid, they told me it was a maintainance free transmission and did not have fluid. It does have a dry clutch, so as I'm not a mechanic, I trusted the service techs. Two problems, it does have transmission fluid. Second and most importantly, ford acknowledged it was NOT a maintainance free transmission in 2020 when they entered this recall settlement. If you purchased a 2012-2018 ford focus or fiesta after 2020, YOUR VEHICLE WAS NOT PROPERLY INSPECTED and you should immediately file a complaint before your transmission goes out. I will be filing for arbitration now with ford motors, as capital ford is unwilling to acknowledge their mistake. I will also be posting this everywhere capital ford can be rated. read more

This review is for their service department. I understand times are difficult for everyone right now, but they can't keep using it as an excuse to provide garbage customer service. We purchased a 2021 Bronco from the dealership that has had issues since day 1. Our first service appointment we told our "advisor" numerous issues and said we had video of each issue. They refused to look at the videos since apparently it doesn't help "diagnose" the issues. When we called in to make the appointment we explained all the issues, whoever scheduled the appointment only wrote down a few of them. When we brought them up to the advisor he said not all the issues were noted down at the time we made the appointment so they cannot address them. He then refused to note them on our account as well. Fast forward to the end of the day- "Your vehicle is ready for pick up. We didn't find anything wrong. Couldn't replicate customer complaints." It was clear they didn't take the time to look at any of our issues as some are very apparent. A couple weeks later we start to experience an electrical issue. Call again to bring it back down to Ford. It took 3 phone calls to get a call back to schedule the appointment. Dropped it off on a Thursday Morning...It is Tuesday and we still haven't received a single update on the vehicle. We have no idea if they found the issue, if they have even touched it. Who knows. We have called 3 times and keep getting the "we'll call you back" answer and nothing more. Emailed...same thing... i'm completely in the dark on whats going on and it's a pretty terrible feeling. I hope Ford Corporate starts cracking down on their dealers. At this rate between insane price mark ups, poorly built products, and non existent customer service I think they are going to scare all their customers away. read more

Took them 6 weeks to do a warranty repair. Avoid them at all cost. They don't return phone calls, updates take a minimum of 3 days to get, the service manager (Nick Azudia - unsure of spelling) is always "away from his desk," the general manager Tim was aware of my issue and never called or rectified the issue or did anything to correct it - they had my truck for 6 weeks before beginning work on it - told me ford policy doesn't include loaner cars for warranty repairs - which is untrue = 10 days. I had to get rental cars 2 times and then I just had to go without a vehicle the rest of the time because I couldn't afford $1,600/month to rent a car on top of toy current car payment. They ended up paying for only the rental cost and in place of my raptor I had a $20k go-Kart basically for 10 days. It is so clear in my opinion this business is being run by someone who just does not care about their customers or who knows how to run a business. Hopefully the owner will clean house and start over bc this team is a losing one. To get them to work on my truck, I had to get corporate ford involved. Please be aware - ford customers have a concierge service to be your representative and force these bad actors to adhere to Ford standards and policies. If I had known when I bought my $80k truck that I would have to endure this horrible service, I would have gone to another company with my money. Ford - do better in managing your franchises. Btw - Capital Ford of Carson City nor their service reps never admitted to their mistakes and just blamed everything on how busy they were. When I went in again to pick up my truck, they were all standing around with nothing to do... so it's obvious they just don't care. What went wrong: 1. First several days they played a game every time I called where they said they didn't think my truck was at their facility. Finally I got a call from my service rep Brad. 2. Every time you call in - they pretend like they have no idea why you would be calling them. The lady answering the phone would transfer you to any random person and then you'd leave a vociemail that was never returned. My favorite is when they ask you who your service rep is instead of looking it up in the system and then transferring you. 3. Service manager - Nick - always out to lunch, unavailable, or away from his desk 4. Tim - GM - same as Nick 5. Service reps don't give updates, etas, cost estimates, warranty info, organize rentals or loaners, etc they won't even answer your phone calls let alone return a call. When they do, it's already been 3+ days since you left a VM. How can anyone plan their life when they have no idea how long your car is going to take. 6. Never admitted to mistakes or simply apologized (until the very end - 6 weeks later) 7. Provided false information regarding my warranty - they told me ford doesn't offer loaner cars for warranty repairs any more (they said if they do, it's only for 1-2 days). That's false - it is 10 days. 8. Never offered any sort of help once they knew there was a problem. After 2 weeks they could have at least given me a loaner... nope that took 5 weeks. 9. Can't ever get ahold of anyone throughout the day. Just get passed around vociemails. 10. Used being busy as an excuse to inconvenience a customer. If you're too busy, send the truck to another shop or outsource to another shop in the area or pay your crew overtime to play catch-up. Makes no sense that they work 9-6 and don't work weekends.. yet that have 6 weeks of backlog work to get through. 11. I asked them to fix my AC (airflow problem). They kept telling me the ac was blowing cold air... I said I know that it's the low flow that's the issue - not the dang temp. Every time I finally got ahold of them, we had the same conversation. They never fixed it. And I couldn't stand dealing with them. What worked: 1. Ford concierge opened a case on them for me and finally they fixed my truck (took them less than 1 day) but took them a week after the case was opened to start working. read more

Have a Lincoln MKC. Got a recall notice that sometimes the battery connectors may short out and cause a fire. The recall notice stated specifically that the fire could happen at any time and you should not park the vehicle in a garage or next to a building until repairs are completed. Sounds pretty freaking serious to me. Not to Capital Ford. Have called and left messages time and time again, but service schedule won't talk about it, they send you directly to the person who handles recalls who has never answered a call. We bought a 2022 F-150 in the spring of 2022. Uneventful sale which is good for this dealership. Forward to when the truck is due for its first oil change. I get an offer from the service department for a day 2 months distant which I do not accept. End of summer '23, a couple weeks ago I get a second recall on this truck. I call the service department and leave voicemail as instructed. 2 or 3 days later I get a call from someonevat this dealer telling me it could be 4 months, 6 months or even a year until I can get an appointment. A few minutes later I call another Ford dealer in the area and get an appointment 2 weeks out. The truck now has the recall items corrected. Also, the dealer never bothered with the post sale followup call. Service after the sale seems nonexistant here and the overall experience is lacking. read more

I bought a new 2022 Edge from Capital Ford in Carson City. With less than 7,000 miles on it, the sunroof spontaneously exploded. I fully expected this to be covered by my warranty. I went back to the service manager at Capital Ford, Nick, who asked for photos and said he would check with Ford. He came back and said this was NOT covered under our warranty as there was no recall issued. In searching online, this is a known issue with Ford panoramic sunroofs. We called the general Manager, Tim Milligan. We never got a return phone call. Neither Ford Motor Co or Capital Ford will stand behind their vehicle. This is a $2000 repair and very dangerous. I have been waiting three months for an extended warranty repair for the air conditioner on my 2019 Ford Edge and the parts that were supposed to arrive on or around 9/22/21 still have not. Any phone messages that I leave for Ed, my so-called "Service Advisor", go unanswered. Plus, their online service scheduling does not "correlate" with their actual schedule, so you are given time slot options on their website that do not actually exist in reality. I purchased a new ford f150 limited pick up. Purchased it on July 1st.The dealer has had the truck for more than a month and its still not done. The items to be completed were agreed upon at purchase and have due bills. time of purchase. Now the General Manager has denied the repairs agreed to at the time of purchase. I have contacted FORD who has provided a advocate, however her stories never line up with the dealers comments and the body shop. I had a service appointment today, that I had waited two months for. My assigned service advisor was late for work. I waited 20 minutes for her to show up, despite my being prompt. When she did, there was no apology for her tardiness or my waiting. She did not enter my vehicle information, scan with dealership technology or otherwise follow a procedure that any other dealer would follow upon arrival. She simply took my information down on a piece of paper and told me to leave my vehicle. I was asked to sign a makeshift piece of paper that stated it would take them three days to diagnose my vehicle. If I refused to sign the printed Microsoft Word document, I would be refused service. I was not offered a formal estimate with my ODO recorded on it that I sign before handing over keys. They have no loaner vehicles and told me that I would only potentially be reimbursed for a rental car after a diagnoses was completed (three days from now). This was the last straw. This is a brand new vehicle purchased from this dealer only six months prior. We already had to deal with the drama of this department trying to get the battery replaced when the vehicle was dead in our driveway just a few short months after purchase. I will NEVER return. You should not be accepting service appointments if you cannot handle the influx. Make the drive to Fallon or Reno. You'll be better off. read more
