Our initial experience was good but I called 3 different people, several times with questions and never received a call back. Terrible service!! Incompetent staff and management unwilling to acknowledge their teams own mistakes. Repairs are expensive, if you don't want the problems to get worse I recommend finding another "Authorized Ford Mechanic" first off my car (2013 Ford Fusion SE 1.6L) broke down due to recall of thermostat for coolant and had been burning coolant on start ups. I was told the head gasket was out by Capital Fords team. I paid to have its repair plus costs to trouble shoot ECM. More than a dozen codes were present. After months of waiting I finally get the car back in what they said was "NEW AGAIN" the entire top end had been replaced injectors, head gasket etc. So the car should have ran amazing for a while afterwards. With proper maintenance kept up to date. WRONG!!! Between leaving the facility (Capital Ford) and going to the gas station(Maverick) the car check engine light appears.??? I call immediately. I was assured it was because of new parts car is still trying to adjust. So I drive off to South Lake Tahoe. As I'm going up the hill the car starts increasing in idling and speeding on its own! I take video and call again. With video I email them and they say "it's possibly vacuum line that the mechanic forgot to plug" you're kidding me at this point right? No, that's not it. At this point it's just a mistake to bring the car back there. Minutes after this my water pumps fails!! As well as the radiator all get replaced with new parts at another Ford dealer near Sacramento, Folsom Lake Ford. I get the car back a few days later missing almost a week of work and guess what? Oh yes, the car is burning coolant AGAIN AND CAN BE SEEN VERY CLEARLY COMING OUT THE EXUAST. I've talk numerous times with the manager, she has blamed all on me. Completely ignoring the fact that the car wasn't working properly and somehow got to work for less then 15min. so I could have the car off the property and they wouldn't be liable. They have been very deceitful and conned me of thousands of dollars. And damages that I can no longer afford to repair. I have recently purchased an F-150 from Tristan Goodbar (his first sale), he was professional and fun and Levi, the GSM took a no BS approach and gave me a great deal on the truck completely skipping the endless back and forth over the price. (I had a friend pull the invoice after the fact and I can tell you they gave me a very fair deal, much better than a lot of places will give you on cars over $50k) I would absolutely recommend doing business there, especially if you are an active duty military member. Recently, I received two recalls on my F-150. I paid cash for the truck at Capital Ford and the sales experience was great. However, when I called to schedule the appointment for the recall appointment this happened. I called the service department and was told that it would take "3 to 5 days" for a service adviser to call me back to schedule the appointment. I left a message on his voice mail. I have not been contacted. So, let me see if I have this straight, the owner of Capital Ford can make public service announcements regarding driving safe, but, when it comes to a safety recall too bad. One of the recalls stated "a fire in the B-pillar area may spread within the vehicle and increase the risk of injury." The other recall stated "the door striker which could cause the door to open while driving." So, according to the owner, "drive safe Nevada" but, not in your F-150. I called Jones West Ford and scheduled the appointment. I cannot believe the Capital Ford takes "3 to 5 days" to call you back to schedule the appointment. I have referred other customers to your sales department and was very happy dealing with Zack. He was very professional and helpful. What a disappointment to have been treated like this from your service department. Paying cash for a vehicle and then being treated like this is unacceptable. UPDATE: Received a message from Tim M. Business Manager of Capital Ford. Thank you for your response. I have a suggestion to make the service department more efficient. First, you can follow the example of Jones West Ford. A customer calls the service department and within a 3-5 minute phone conversation the needed parts are confirmed, as being in stock, and the appointment is scheduled. I was looking for a Transit Connect, low roof, medium length which I was planning to use for car camping, something to get me to & from the trail head. Having been ignored at the Ford Dealership in Reno, I initiated an internet inquiry with Dick Campagni's Capital Ford in Carson City, NV. Heidi, with their internet sales team promptly determined the specifics of what I was looking for & sent me an email when a similar vehicle was in the lot. I got lucky, Zack Weber, the Salesman of the Month, for May & June 2015 met me after I drove from Reno to Carson City. Zack knew the product, was courteous, polite, & didn't high pressure me. We took the vehicle for a test ride. The engine was the standard 2.5 liter 4 banger. Between the tilt steering wheel, which also telescopes, & the 6-way manual driver's seat adjustment + power windows, I was able to quickly get "just right", it was as though the engineers custom made the driving position, just for me; I'm 5'6" with a small skeletal structure & 70 years old. I highly recommend Dick Campagni's Capital Ford Dealership here in Carson City. He also happens to own the Toyota Dealership in Carson City, so he must be doing something right. read more

I am done with both Ford and Capital Ford. Not only does the Ford Escape get lousy gas mileage it also came with tires that were subject to failing (low profile). To compound the problem the tires were expensive to replace and had to be special ordered. I complained to both Ford and Capital Ford and I have not been treated well by either. read more

What a bad experience. I Put $500 down on new Bronco Sport Badlands. When it arrived at the dealership I drove down from Sparks and we took it for a test drive. Upon returning to the lot, Scott informed me that there was a mistake and they could not sell me it as they had designated the vehicle as "mannequin" and was only available for test drives. Despite my persistence, they did not reclassify the vehicle and did not, in my opinion, try their best to sell me the car. A classic bait and switch, even if it was not intentional, with the dealership placing the blame on corporate, even after admitting that the mistake was made at Capitol Ford. I had my regular maintenance done today at Capitol Ford in Carson. My Service advisor was Ozzie he was professional, friendly and I was in an out very quickly. I have had issues trying to hook up my ATT hot spot . I asked if someone could help me and they had Zack from Sales come out and spend time to get me hooked up and the GM came out and helped me understand the process. I was VERY happy with everyone I had contact with from the appointment setter til I left the dealership. I worked for 25 yrs in service dept for Chevy in the Bay area so I know how hard you work. Hands down the worst customer service I have ever received. This is the second time I have worked with Todd Bennedict in the service department. His lack of communication is unacceptable for a large corrperation like Ford. I was told he would get back to me last Thursday with no return call. I have called at least once ever day with no return call. I live in South Lake Tahoe and my only other option is driving back down the hill to Sacramento. I was hopping this time would be different. I have a maintenance contract with Capital Ford. I call in diligently to schedule an appt. this time I spoke with Denise. Every single time I get to the appt I am told by Doyle, one of the grumpiest men ever, that there is no appt, no paperwork, he isn't going to do the paperwork etc. He even told me once he didn't care if I had a confirmation for my appt. he didn't have the paperwork. This guy needs to get a different job. If I had an option other than Jones West, I wouldn't come back to Capital Ford. I have complained about Doyle's attitude before, but he's still there...complaining. As soon as my contract is up I will be going elsewhere. Too bad because the work is done well. read more

I have been coming to Ford for service on my vehicles since 1992. Over the years, we've had a disagreement or two, but for 25 years- that's something you might expect. Overall, they are fantastic. They always complete things in a timely manner and I've never had surprise charges or unnecessary parts put into my vehicle. We ended up having to tow our truck to capital ford from Hawthorne. We told them about how the air in our front right tire was slowly leaking air (1-2 psi every few days). They said they checked it out but when we drove off the lot we noticed that the tire was still low so they didn't even bother to fill it up leaving me to assume that they didn't even check on the problem. I write this after going to another ford and them telling me that they figured out it was a leaky valve stem. read more

Outstanding purchase experience on my 2018 Ford 150 FX4 Platinum. A bit over a week ago I visited the store and was greeted by Zach Weber as I was poking around the trucks on the lot. I told Zach what I was looking for and we went inside to get a key for a truck with the same engine and whellbase, so I could drive a truck with the same engine (3.5 V6 twin turbo). I told Zach that I was shopping Ford after 6 Silverados. There was some good natured teasing about guys and trucks and brand loyalty - I was shopping Ford as I felt it out-spec'ed GM. We did the test drive and Ford now entirely outshines GM on trucks. We went inside and set up a dealer trade on a Lariat. Well, that fell through as the dealer with that truck had a warm body who wanted it and the sold it. Zach got to work and found a Platinum trim spec'ed same as the loaded Lariat. As I am in Southern CA (but in escrow on a home in Tahoe Donner) I drove home. Weather in Donner pass precluded moving the perfect vehicle that Zach found (Platinum trim, tech pkg, FX4), so I left, asking Zach to get the truck. A few days later I was back at the store to take delivery and Zach stepped even farther above and beyond what a dealer might do on a sale. I was staying in a hotel in Truckee, near my new home, and Zach drove to where I was storing my Kia Sorento to drove me back to the dealership to drive my Kia back to storage. That is great service! Throughout the purchase experience, which took over a week and lots of texts, Emails, and In person time, Zach remained professional, friendly, and never in any way was pushy or trying to hustle me. I was treated in an entirely friendly manner at all times. I previously purchased 6 Silverados from the same sales person at the same Chevy store. I don't know if it is going to be 6 F 150's, as I am 62 now, but I will shop my next vehicle at Capital Ford and hopefully will work with Zach Weber again; Zach knows the product and understands that the customer is the customer and is both friendly and respectful. After Jones West Ford stated that the leaks under my truck are normal, I took my truck down to Capital City Ford. I spoke with Lisa there who seemed to look at the photos and had a good idea of what was wrong. She was able to get my vehicle inspected almost 2 weeks before they said I could get an appointment. I got a call back and they found the issue. It turned out the fuel filter was leaking fuel everywhere! So Jones West Ford sent me home with a truck leaking fuel everywhere! Lisa helped me with everything and quoted me a price if warranty didn't cover it. I purchased the truck from another ford dealer and they are going to fix any issues found by Lisa and the crew at Capital City Ford. I just want to Thank them and Lisa for such an excellent job and for not just telling me my truck leaks are common on such a new truck. I will never go anywhere else. read more

***This review is for the service department*** I don't have enough GOOD things to say about the Capital Ford service department. It's like night and day compared to Jones West Ford in Reno. I have always had my Ford vehicles serviced at the Ford dealership. It costs WAY more than a local shop, but I always expected quality service and craftsmanship. I actually happen to live in Reno, but after countless times of being ripped off, nickel and dimed, and horrible customer service, I decided to give Capital a call. Even the people who just transfer the calls to the service department are so much more pleasant and actually seem to know what they're doing. I have a 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium that's still covered under warranty that was having a water leak issue. Rain/melted snow would leak into the driver side where your feet go. Initially, I had taken it to Jones West. They had my car for almost a week. When I got it back I was under the impression that it had been repaired. They told me it was the windshield. I was warned that my car would smell like vinegar for a week and to keep it under cover while the sealant dried. Well, come the next rain, it was leaking again. They refused to work with me because they said it was a "goodwill repair." For one: they didn't repair it. For two: it is STILL UNDER WARRANTY. Three: I spent almost $300 in a rental. After multiple calls they wouldn't even speak to me. So I called Capital Ford and explained my situation. They had me make an appointment, and I brought it in a few days later. My service advisor, Todd, warned me that they wouldn't be able to look at it until the week. I expected another week rental, so I got one. When they looked at my car they immediately discovered the problem. It was something to do with the moonroof. Knowing how much I spent previously on a rental, and how much I was presently spending, ($340 to be exact) they got me into a loaner until my car is finished. Todd even went out of his way to get an approval to have the water damaged interior of the car fixed. Words cannot express how thankful I am for the service department team for their hard work and dedication. I will be taking my car to them from now on. In my opinion, the drive is well worth the quality of customer service. They've definitely earned a life long customer out of me! read more

I dropped my car off on monday morning (now tuesday afternoon still no call), they said it would be a 2 hour job billed at 280 to replace a washer in the drive column. I get no calls all day no news regarding my vehicle so i have to drive back after work to see if its done and i go into the shop and all they did was diagnose the problem and tell me the only way to fix this issue is to replace the entire drive column a job worth 1500....for a washer?!? They just want to get the most out of you, stay away from capitol ford, ill never buy a ford again. read more

I have trying to get a hold of Capital Ford to schedule the safety bag recall on my 2008 ford edge for the past 2 months. I have inquired thru their online service three different time. Does not work. Tried calling several times. Told you have to request it recall items online. Called service department and they just transferred me to the recall dept of which no one calls back. I even did the Chat online and still have not heard from anyone. So so frustrated that I cannot get my car in to have the safety air bag recall done. read more

If you live in Reno and your Ford needs warranty work, you are limited to just a few options. You can take your chances with the local dealership in Reno, or you can drive to Carson, Fallon or even Susanville. I've taken my Ford to Susanville in the past, and they are fantastic but it's a long drive. So when my heated steering wheel (yes - I'm THAT girl), wasn't working I decided to give Capital Ford a shot. And since I was going to drive there, I decided to get the oil changed and tires rotated too. On my first trip down, it took them about 4 hours to diagnose my steering wheel issue and then change the oil, rotate the tires and change the air filter. I was ok with the wait since they warned me ahead of time and I was able to take my laptop and work from the dealership. But of course, I needed a new steering wheel so they needed to order the part. Not a problem, this is the beauty of the warranty - just fix it, since I don't have to worry about paying for it. After the part came in, I made my appointment for Nevada Day to get the steering wheel replaced since I had the day off. I dropped it off at 8 AM and was going to hang out and wait for it. Because this place is in Carson...and I was without a car...and I live in Reno so getting a ride anywhere was out of the question. After 5 hours of waiting, I finally went and asked the guy WTH? He told me that the mechanic was at lunch but that he was in the middle of working on it. I said that's funny - since my car is sitting right there (I pointed to the parking lot) and it still had the original wheel on it. How can he be working on replacing it if he hasn't taken the old one off yet? Three hours later...my car was ready. At this point, I'd been here for 8 hours. I would have been okay with the wait, if I had been told ahead of time that it was going to take that long. If you can't get to it until 2 PM, that's fine. But don't have me drop it off at 8 AM. I hadn't planned on spending my holiday at a car dealership watching the Price is Right. I understand this dealership is the only option for many right now, but keep with the customer service that made you everyone's first choice - don't get complacent and expect people to keep coming back. Will I be back? Probably. Like I said, there aren't a lot of options right now for warranty work. read more

This is a revised post. I purchased a Ranger and added an extended service plan. My 7,500 mile service visit was scheduled, so I brought my truck in. I had a bit of an unpleasant encounter with a grumpy service advisor. My service was then taken over by Ed. Ed was a wonderful advisor and took care of my truck with a delightful attitude. I complained about my initial encounter and Capital Ford reached out to me. I was assured this wouldn't happen again. I had a very nice conversation with the customer relation manager, Paula. She listened and offered options guaranteeing smooth servicing in the future. I will update this once again after my next service appointment, however I feel the situation will be remedied. read more

My husband purchased his truck from them over two years ago. We have had issues with them from the first day we purchased. However two days ago they called my husband and said they were trying to build up their inventory and would like to purchase the truck back. So my husband was hesitant but thought maybe he would give them a secound try as the person on the phone was adimit that they could get him into a newer truck around the same monthly payment. Long story short the truck they were trying to sell him wasnt even there and the price was coming no where close to the monthly payments he told them we could afford. He was given the run around for 30 minutes then the first sales person he was dealing with left. He was told that he would be given a call the next day and was never called. Worst customer service in Carson City and the service department is aweful as well. If you buy a truck here and it breaks down expect to be with out your vehicle for at least two weeks with no rental car! I will never buy a vehicle from them again. read more

Car/Truck buying review: Our car was recently totaled and we were in a time crunch to find a replacement. I went in to Capital Ford and met Joe Atencio. I told him I was shopping around but was interested in Ford. Joe was very helpful in showing me models I was interested in and spent a good bit of time with me. Additionally Brian (manager) helped search inventory at other locations to find vehicles that fit my needs. Over the next couple weeks I searched and priced vehicles all over the country. Joe kept tabs on me but never pressured me or tried to sell me something that didn't fit my needs. One day a trade-in arrived and Joe immediately sent me a text to see if I was interested with pics and details. I was and with Joe's help was able to negotiate a deal that I felt was fair. Because I live over an hour away, Joe and team did a lot of the let work (financing etc) in advance. When receiving the vehicle and signing the paperwork with the finance manager, Norman Hash, the process was actually enjoyable. I'm grateful to their team for finding a vehicle and making a typically stressful process easy. Joe earned my business and the rest of the team solidified my positive opinion of this dealership for buying a vehicle. read more

If you have warranty issues come an hour after you make your appointment. I had an 8am appointment that I was originally told would take an hour, it's now 9am and they have not started yet. No loaner car or shuttle service was offered either. If you bring your car here for warranty issues clear all of this up ahead of time and drop it off an hour late. Finally at 9;20 with other appointments pressing I had to get my keys and leave. This is my fourth time to the service center in the past month and my check engine light remains on. I now have 8 hours of travel time and fuel driving to this dealership and I will most likely have to try a different ford dealer as this one is just not up to par. Please avoid this dealership at all costs as they don't deserve your business. read more

He's offered to repair the dent and taillight cover for us, at a body shop of our choosing in our local area. You need to get a recall done forget it they don't call you back and they say they need 3 to 4 days to get back to you to schedule, what the hell for they can't pick up the phone and talk to the customer to set a schedule really? Now When I bought my new car July 2013 I faithfully always went through there service dept for everything. Never had a problem with anything until this last January 2015 when I got my car back from them and Noticed that my tires had MIRACULOUSY healed themselves from the last time I had been there 6 weeks earlier. In Nov I was having my car routinely serviced when I got the call that my car needed all 4 new tires $800 that they were at Red level which was dangerous( previously I was Green Level never hit yellow) I told them I would get it done on my own ( If my tires were dust I really didn't want manufacturers tires back on it I didn't even have 20,000 miles on car yet. Now when I got my car back I did have a couple people look at it and say my tires still had life in them and they were not at the point to be replaced. Anyways no big deal right time to watch tires more closely and get ready in near future to buy tires. In early January I went back for a recall on my car they did their inspection again of everything.....guess what tires in the green, Tread is great , no worries. Wow there healed...I did mention this and no one could explain even though the paperwork showed right there....and I didn't buy tires, and my tires were not great nor were they bald. So two times somebody working on my car and very sketchy results. 5000 miles later I now just put on brand new tires for $600 .... read more
