First time visiting Capital One Café in Downtown LA and we really enjoyed it! The space is clean, spacious, and very family-friendly. They had some cute FREE activities and goodies for kids, including DIY pinwheels and sunglasses. My kids loved being able to pick something out while we were there! Parking tip: Street parking right next to the café is not allowed from 4-6 PM. There's also a parking garage next to the café, and they validate for 45 minutes--just make sure to get a parking ticket. They also have MLB Mondays through September 7, with a FREE handcrafted beverage every Monday while supplies last. There are lots of drink options, including seasonal drinks like the Blueberry Ube Latte and Blueberry Matcha Latte. Such a nice spot to stop by when you're in DTLA, especially with kids! read more

Wanted to visit a Capital One Cafe. I do know Chase Sapphire and American Express Centurion Lounges also exist and that they cater to upscale clients. If you have a Capital One card, you can receive 50% off beverages. I really like the unique concept of a credit card creating a new type of business associated with them. Here is some information about one of the other lounges. The American Express Centurion Lounges offer a place to spend time at 3 hours before your scheduled flight. Offerings include premium food, personal workspaces, shower suites, family rooms, beer and wine. An American Express Platinum card (other cards also accepted) or eligibility code and a boarding pass are required. Annual fee for this American Express card is $895. I am not sure if I should give Capital One Cafe a 3 or a 4. They have offerings I don't usually see at other coffee houses and I decided to try an ube / blueberry drink. It wasn't too busy when I was there at around 9:00 am but the wait for my drink was a few minutes longer than I anticipated. Parking was easy to find in the 801 S Grand parking structure. I just came in for about 20 minutes for a cup of coffee and ended up paying $6.50 for parking. Saw dogs inside so they appear to be pet friendly. There is Capital One signage inside although this is more in line with a coffee house than a luxury credit card lounge. I'll give them a 4 since I greatly appreciate having the credit card cafe experience to finally satisfy my curiosity. read more

Got free coffee through my MLB Mondays QR code. I got Blueberry Ube Latte 1/4 sweet with light ice. I love that they are accommodating my taste. Fast service. Friendly customer service. Clean and very cozy ambiance. I saw people study or just hang out. Lots of staff around to help. Staff will help if you want to use the restroom. Plenty of seating when I was there. Pet friendly. I saw free dog treats for pets. There is even an actual Capital One bank machine if you need to use it. Parking is a pain. Everywhere is paid parking meter with a physical credit card. Came on a weekday and from the comments, I read that you can pretty much park at Whole Foods which is across the street and walk over. Saved us a pretty penny from having to search and pay for parking. Diagonal from Whole Foods is the Capital One Cafe. Beautiful lighting with large windows and seating for those who want to use the space for working or just to have a nice beverage. My husband was opening an account and they required he come in person to present documents. Bryan helped us and got everything set up at ease. When he finished, he offered to get us a complimentary drink of our choice. He also mentioned that with your capital one card, you get 50% off drinks! I visited this cafe this afternoon in hopes of an easy in and out experience. I waited almost 40 minutes for a drink. The line was pretty long, but to be expected since it was a free coffee day. I was waiting in line when the cashier stopped at me and said that someone would be right with me. I continued to wait for a while as the line grew and workers just watched and were chatting. Finally someone came to take my order. I ordered an iced mocha and of course had to wait awhile which I didn't really understand since no one had ordered before me for at least 10-15 minutes. The coffee was honestly not worth the wait and I would have rather gone somewhere else / paid. However it was free and was alright. A very much welcome space of roomy quietness oasis in the heart of DTLA. Very open and spacious inside, with plenty of seating and some nook spaces available to check out for small groups of people getting together to work or study. I have been going to this Capital One Cafe since grad school, and I go every now and then when I have work to do or want to study. I also visit other Capital One locations. They have Verve Coffee (no longer Peet's). You get half off drinks when you use your Capital One credit card. It's a cafe open to the community, so it's not just for Capital One holders. They have plenty of seating with power outlets, so studying and using your laptop is still great. DTLA does not get as crowded as other locations. It would be nice to be open longer since they close at 6 PM. For security, they just have one entrance/exit, so the other doors, even the big corner entrance, are not in use. When you have to use the restroom, staff walk you to it and punch in the code for you, which probably helps with monitoring and keeping it clean. read more

This is such a great cafe to work in. It's spacious with plenty of tables, and it's quiet. Music is played inside, but it's not overwhelmingly loud. Plenty of outlets at each of the tables. They even have a nook that you can reserve to work in. I got the seasonal cinnamon maple latte, and it was amazing. I love it, it's sweet and you can taste the cinnamon. The cup was smaller than I thought. Drinks are made quickly, and so is any pastry item heated or food ordered. I like the variety of options they have for food/snacks. They aren't open super late, but open later than most of the cafes in the area (till 6 PM). I live within walking distance, so I had no issues with parking, but I wouldn't recommend driving here. Street parking in DTLA is very limited, and garages can be pricey. There's a deal for Capital One/Discover card holders, it said 50% on the side by the cashier. He acknowledged me as he was finishing up with a customer and after assisting me with my transaction, gave my daughter and I coupons valid for a free drink at the coffee shop. I visit this Capitol one location couple times a month. I love it because there's always seats and electrical avail in the mornings. I hope it's the same at night. I went there to make a deposit on the ATM, which was very Easy. Parking was a bit tricky. Upon entering the building. They do validate the parking, but they only give you 45 minutes as of what I know I got myself a coffee and a bread, which I do not recommend. I got sick from that coffee was not the best. Great Spot to Study, but Parking is a Pain This was my first time visiting a Capital One Café, and overall it was a decent experience, but a few things stood out--both good and not-so-great. First, parking is tough. Street parking on weekdays is $3 for just one hour, and most nearby lots have flat rates between $10-$12 for the day, which adds up quickly if you continue to visit. The café itself has a really nice interior--the high ceilings give it an open, airy feel, and it's a pretty chill spot to study or work. There are plenty of tables with outlets, which is a huge plus. Some areas are well-lit, others a bit dim, so depending on where you sit, the vibe can change. They have a wide selection of drinks, which I appreciated. The seasonal was the Vanilla Rose Latte- wasn't as rosey as I hoped for. I definitely tasted the vanilla though! We also tried the honey lavender latte with oat milk. It was okay--not bad, but I do wish it had more lavender flavor. One heads-up: if you need to use the bathroom, you'll need to ask a staff member to unlock it for you. All in all, it's a solid place to get some work done, but the parking situation and average drink bring it down a bit for me. read more
