This Capital One Cafe is located in Chinatown DC, right across the street from the metro station entrance. Surprised by how popular this location was compared to the one that I frequent in Bellevue. The space itself has a cool feel so I can see why it is popular. This cafe is very spacious with plenty of seating. It serves Verve Coffee and has some food items. If you are a Capital One card member, you get 50% off your drink which is the main reason I came here. Overall, it is a nice place to hangout and have a coffee or tea. read more

Today was the second Monday as of recently where the espresso machine has been broken at this location. This location needs to work on ensuring the espresso machine is up and running. I have never seen a coffee shop with their espresso machine down so often. Monday's are free coffee day at Capital one Cafe's from Memorial Day to Labor Day so I was able to still get a non espresso based drink for free. The service though is SLOW. They have a lot of Baristas but it still seems to take forever for them to make the drinks. Free is worth a lot, but if I had to pay I would probably go to a local coffee shop before I went here. read more

Stopped by here for a quick visit for warm latte on a such a cold windy Friday! Grabbed Cinnamon Maple latte from one of the specials menu and it didn't disappoint. I usually feel indifference w cinnamon but wanted the maple latte so decided on it. The Capital One Café sits right in the heart of Chinatown. For anyone new to the area, today's Chinatown began taking shape in 1931 around 7th and H Streets NW. Over the years, vibrant Chinese signage, decorative railings, and other cultural design elements helped define the neighborhood's identity and celebrate the heritage of the community that built it. This brings a unique city charm to the Capital One experience. Be mindful though that you may pass by homeless along the path of your visit. At entrance, you are greeted by Capital One staff who are circulating the café. Staff are accommodating and loop around frequently that seem to keep the area up to standard. Management can be very direct in delivery to ensure policies are not broken. There is a code on the door provided by staff that you'll need to access the bathroom. Overall, I enjoyed the blueberry pastry and seasonal gingerbread latte! The sandwiches looked delicious as well, so I look forward to trying one on my next visit. Nice safe space in a busy area. It was calm inside. I ordered a caramel latte and a ham and cheese croissant. I did not enjoy the latte at all. The coffee was not tasty to me. This morning was the first time that I walked into this bank/ cafe and based on what I've seen, I going to have to come back and give this place a try. I'm into the co-working cafe surfing thing, and this place appeared to be a comfortable place to work. There are more than enough tables and workspaces, and less than half of the chairs have padding. Those things really are important. Also it seems cool that they offer 50% off of coffee and drinks for those Capital One Cardholders. I've actually been with this bank for more than 20 years, so maybe that would help with the discount? I've read some comment about having to ask permission to use the bathroom, and a couple of other difficulties, but those things won't stop me from trying it out. read more

What is the point in the employees here? Direct me to the ATM? There are no tellers/bankers actually there to help with anything. It is not a bank, it's 2 ATM machines, one of which is broken, and also locked after hours with access problems using my Capital One card to use ATM at those after hours. I've been here a handful of times now and it's always a great experience. Friendly, but not pushy staff. They aren't there to sell you anything like many might think when they see the name of a bank connected to a coffee shop. This is the 5th or 6th Capital One Cafes I've been in and they've all been very friendly. There's free Wi-Fi, an abundance of comfortable seating or get-to-work kind of seating. A few rooms to discuss banking matters with or if you'd like to reserve a room to study. Lots of plug-ins to stay connected or recharge. Currently their seasonal drink is a Pumpkin Pie Latte and I much prefer this over the PSL. It's right across from the Chinatown Metro stop so super convenient as well. read more

Two stars are from the service at the coffee counter, the free wifi, and the clean space. Everything else wasn't great. I got a sandwich for $12 which was clearly just microwaved and not fresh. The drink was cheap ish but still nothing special. The capital one bank people stood just inside the door and practically jumped down your throat about the need to have a card for the 50% discount. I already had one and really just wanted to be left alone to work without interruptions. As someone else noted, you do need to have them let you into the restroom. read more

I love the idea of a bank cafe because you get the service of a bank with all the perks of a cafe! I go here to study/work and the people who are potentially bank tellers are very very very kind and offer great service in answering questions, getting you seated, keeping the area clean, and opening the restroom for you. Outlets aren't as numerous as they seem, but there's enough. 2 rooms look like they should be for people but they are like the offices of the service people. If you own a capitol one card the drinks are SUPER CHEAP. AT LEAST HALF OFF BEFORE ANY OTHER PROMOTIONS. Capital One cafe is a cool spot to hang out and chill. I was traveling for work and had just arrived at my hotel in DC in Chinatown. I had some time to kill and was hungry. I found this place nearby on Yelp and decided to go check it out. It so happened that I had looked it up on Yelp a couple days before, I was trying to visit the ones in Los Angeles when I had time. I walked in and was greeted by a very nice hospitable associate. The place felt very welcoming. I was really hungry cuz I just got here from the airport and hadn't even had lunch yet. But all the things I wanted like a sandwich were not available. I ended up settling for a danish, which was less than desirable but it will have to do. I was going to have dinner in a couple hours and didn't want to eat too much. I also got (I think) a Honey Lavender Latte. It was a little too sweet and not mixed very well so I didn't like it very much. After I ordered, the lady who had greeted me earlier when I walked in asked about my experience. I told her they didn't have any of the food I wanted, and I was a little bummed about that. She gave me a coupon for a free drink next time, which was a nice surprise. I wanted to try the CO cafes back home in Los Angeles so I will definitely be using it there! Ambiance: It's a little plain inside, but a good place to get some work done. There are also some separate rooms where you can work in peace and quiet behind glass doors, which look like the little meeting rooms in a bank. Location: I'm not a fan of the neighborhood, as it looks a little sketchy outside. Not the nicest part of town outside in Chinatown. Overall: 3.5 stars but rounding up to 4 for the customer service. I came into this location in Gallery Place/Chinatown in DC and was immediately greeted warmly by one of the employees, DaVina. I'm not too much of a coffee drinker and my usual go-to handcrafted drink is a frappuccino. DaVina informed me that they do not sell frappucinos and there was another drink I'd like instead. I trusted her and she delivered! The drink was the S'mores Shakerato and it was the perfect replacement for me. I appreciate how DaVina went above and beyond because she could have just stated how they don't sell frappuccinos and went about her day, like other coffee shops do.
