Went there during the shutdown not knowing if they had a deals for those affected. We were looking to buy hot drinks with our capital one credit cards to score 50% off. Line was long to order but moved quickly. When we got closer to the counter we saw a sign indicating that furloughed employees get a free cup of tea or daybreaker coffee. We tried the latter. This is a really cool concept for cafe lovers and Venture X card holders. The middle floor features a cafe. All of the other floors are great to do some work and people watch. My favorite floor was the top floor where you can even rent a room. The location was really clean and the seats were really comfy. I enjoyed my strawberry matcha drink and the fruit danish. If you present your Venture X card you do get half off food and drink. Definitely a great deal considering the prices in the area. I love the Capital One Café in Georgetown. I come here often. It makes me proud to rock Capital One cards. Such a great place for patrons and non-patrons alike. This place is really chill and I absolutely enjoyed my first time here today. I stayed in the upstairs section, which is where I think most people do their work. There are tons of couches and sofas, but not as many desks that I would like. There were mostly individual tables, as well as, a long table with bar stool type chairs. I am for sure more comfortable working with the regular long tables with comfortable seats. I pretty much stayed on a two seater sofa, with my computer on my lap. The WiFi was awesome, and thankfully there are more than enough outlets to plug-in. I was here for about 4 hours until I decided to leave to find affordable food. I went today to participate in their free drink for the world series game. I enjoyed that they were doing a free drink as it was a nice treat to start my week. I wanted to order an iced soy half cafe latte. I appreciated that for my iced latte I was able to get it made with soy milk as frequently coffee shops don't carry soy milk now that oat and almond seem to be more popular. They were unable to make decaf espresso though so I had to get it 100% caffeinated. Initially they made my drink hot, but nicely corrected it iced when I pointed out the mistake. They did not offer me the hot drink so I am guessing they were just going to pour it out which seems a little wasteful. I could have given it to a friend or they could have offered it to someone else as I hadn't even taken the cup from the barista when I mentioned I had ordered iced. As far as I know, this capital one cafes are the only places in the district you can get fresh brewed verve. Baristas are friendly but had trouble with my "extra hot, no foam" request. Coffee is a bit pricey but you get a 50% discount with the capital one card. Working space. Free WiFi, comfortable chairs, and lots of locations to plug in. Apparently you can reserve private room too. They are free if you have the capital one card. Not sure how much if you don't. The first floor is decent size but there's even more room on the second.
