Appetizer: Lobster Arancini Balls 3.8/5 - These were served with an aoli on the bottom which went well with the crispy arancini. There was one small piece of lobster in this bite, so not the most generous portion for the price. Main: 6 Oz Filet Mignon 3/5 - The meat was cooked well (to medium rare) and had a great crust on the exterior. This carried the dish (as it should). The accompanying sides, mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies, would be best left out. The broccolini and green beans were salty and overcooked, extremely soft and cooked well past it's ideal texture. The mashed potatoes were ok, but are just there as a filler. Side: Michigan Kale Salad 2/5 - The ingredient list sounded superb, but the execution was not there. The kale pieces were LARGE and were hard to eat in bites. It desperately needed another chop (or few) and a deep tissue massage. The salad was also HEAVY on the red onion - if that's your thing, then this is a great salad for you. The red onion was added with a heavy hand and needed to be soaked in water prior to serving to get rid of the pungent bite. Pass. The free bread rolls were ok as well, but I would rather have a Texas Road House roll.

Overall I had a good experience at this restaurant with my family. The staff was very attentive and understanding with any alterations to the meals or drinks. Me and my family came to celebrate my little sister's 21st birthday. We all ordered a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts. Since it was a big party it did take some time for our food to be ready. Everyone was pretty satisfied with their food but some items could've been seasoned more and served with a bigger portion in our opinion .

Capital Shrimp - we really enjoyed this appetizer.

Hubby and I took a road trip on Valentine's Weekend to Lansing, MI. We researched for a really nice fine dining restaurant and came across this place which looked ideal so we decided to make dinner reservations way in advance here for Feb. 15th. On the day of our dinner, we were headed there in the midst of a terrible snowstorm - very low visibility. The restaurant was caring enough to call and check on us to make sure we were coming soon which we appreciated. We arrived and the staff was so welcoming. We were seated at a very nice booth area. Paul was our server and he was very friendly and informative about the menu with suggestions for us for our meal. The decor gets its own paragraph! It's SO beautiful in there. Dimly lit, wonderful ambiance and the light fixtures are unique and eye catching along with being beautiful. Great place for a date night as there were many couples there that night. They had the restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day and it was so freakin' pretty in there. They also had a red & pink balloon display (see picture) to take pictures by so we certainly took advantage of that! I'm a foodie and can be picky because I really love good food. Each and everything we had there was delicious and perfect temperature. They brought warm rolls with butter. I had the Lavender Love Garden (Bombay Sapphire, St. Germain, lavender syrup, lemon juice which was yummy. Hubby had the Cotton Candy Rum Punch which was a very nice presentation (see video). We chose the Capital Shrimp for an appetizer which was really good. For my meal, I had the King Crab Legs that were big! Sliced in half so all you have to do is pick the delicious meat from the shell, dip in warm drawn butter and enjoy. I had the red potatoes and brussel sprouts to accompany them and they were both scrumptious! Well seasoned and nice sized portions. Hubby selected the lobster tail and asked for 2 of them. They were huge!! And delicious as he shared one with me. Even the wet towelettes that we were given were hot and were beautifully decorated on a small square dish to clean our hands. Nice touch! We were stuffed so we took a slice of the key lime cheesecake to go. It was delicious as well. They put two mini live purple flowers on top of it which made it pretty. Capital Prime, you made our Valentine's dinner really special. Thank you for a wonderful evening. Highly recommend this steakhouse. Not sure why this place doesn't have 4 or 5 stars overall - everything was superb for us. A+ and keep up the good work!

Service was excellent server did not use book when taking our order but everything was correct and in a timely manner. we had ordered the king crab with veggies and mashed potato's and the 8 ounce filet. the crab was a little dry and hard to get out but it's by far my favorite food and was still very good. filet was inhaled by my bf he is a very picky eater and nothing can touch eachother and they were very accommodating. the place is very big with different sections and was pretty pretty empty when we went on a thursday but everything is clean and taken care of no patches on leather seats. the reason i didn't provide 5 stars was just because i like a place that's popular and i was pretty let down in the moment about the crab as there was also no butter to dip it in only an aioli looking sauce - which was still very good

What could be better than a smash burger, heavily salted baked potato, shrimp and lobster tail from a steak house? I'm not really sure! You get what you pay for is a true saying and spending money doesn't hurt when it's worth it. My only critique would be the shrimp app was a bit too mayo based for my liking but I still ate it all so I'm not going to complain! This is a must try!

Capital Prime is one of our favorite date night spots! We love the romantic feel in the booths by the bar area. The service is always tier one and the food comes out perfectly done. Our favorite appetizers are oysters on the half shell and the capital shrimp..AMAZING! We always get the ribeye or filet with blue cheese crumble as main course and the flavor is to die for. We will continue to be back for special date nights or for just a perfect meal!

It's currently 7:39pm on Friday February 14. We had a reservation for 6pm. We got our salad at 7pm. I asked for another drink with my meal, the steak was good- it's gone. The crab cake was burned outside and uncooked inside. The fries were limp and cold and the blue cheese was adhered to the steak when we got it, proving it sat in the window for a while- a shame for $50 steak. Our sever, Mark, for the most part, hid away, not stopping by to ask or inquire much. This is especially sad because the last time we visited prime I got terrible food poisoning from a whitefish dish and had a free meal waiting at the front desk. I didn't use it, and I won't be back.Bowdie's wins. I do not recommend putting your money here.

I also liked the mismatched mugs. They seemed seriously understaffed, and service was very slow. We ordered drinks, and waited long enough for someone to come back to take our food order that we were starting to wonder if they thought we were only getting drinks. There was another long wait for our food. When it arrived, it arrived in batches. One person ordered three tacos, but the order was entered wrong, so they only got one to start, and they had to wait quite a while for the other two. The food was good overall, but the portions were quite small. I did like the Bourbon Street French toast, particularly the caramel sauce. It could have used more bananas though. The fried pickles were good, as were the spicy mozzarella sticks. The steak omelet's sauce was odd. The nachos were good. The coffee and lattes were good. The regular orange juice had less juice than one poured for our toddler. Overall it was alright, but I don't know that I'd go back.

The Kevin Bacon LT was one of their many varieties of avocado toast which tasted very fresh and clean. Came in on a Sunday morning in August and the wait was 20 minutes, which is normally not an issue but the restaurant was only about 75% full. Service was a little slow but did not alter our positive experience. We will definitely be coming back to try more things on the menu.

Batter Up Bistro reminds me of several places I've visited in New Orleans with a jazz trio playing ragtime as I enjoyed brunch and maybe a midday Hurricane cocktail. The interior is rustic chic while still being warm and inviting and I really enjoyed the beverages I ordered. The Apple Crisp Latte ($8) I ordered for my breakfast visit was hot and made me feel even more cozy. Apple simple syrup paired with house coffee blend and oat milk with notes of cinnamon was very pleasing to the palette without been blown away by apple flavor. The Baron ($15) was a pre-dinner cocktail with whiskey, ginger beer & liquor, almond bitters, and a hickory smoked finish. It was strong, but not breathtaking, a well-balanced flavor profile. What's Really Good Dinner service was suitable even if a bit slow, especially given the few diners that were also in attendance that evening. The bar tender was also waiting tables and while he was capable and hospitable, he clearly had too much on his plate running the front of house solo. I started with the Sea Scallop appetizer ($17). Three substantial scallops with a dill forward dusting sit atop a lovely, creamy parsnip puree. The puree was slightly sweet and the microgreens that were likely intended more as a garnish offered a nice textural note. The scallops were cooked uneven if I'm being honest where only one out of the three had a desirable brown crust and the other two were grayer. Dinner went up several notches with the Pan-seared Salmon ($32) which I ordered blackened. The fish was tender and flaky, and the blackened seasoning was right on target. The salmon paired quite well with the roasted Brussels sprouts, which themselves had a lovely char, and the wild rice. I also appreciated the accompanying blackberries which offered a touch of sweetness without compromising earthiness. Best Bite My first visit was a bit lonely as I was the only patron dining on a Thursday mid-morning. Perhaps the previous day's snowfall had scared others away, but I was itching to get out and about finding the breakfast selections a respite from winter's doldrums. I ordered the Eggs Benny ($20) with perfectly poached eggs atop their delightful house baked toast which was dense enough to hold up the thinly sliced ham, eggs, microgreens, and herbaceous hollandaise sauce. The sauce was rich and creamy with a pleasant punch of lemon and dill. The dish is served with garlic and herbed red skin breakfast potatoes and they were a hit. Also, a star was the side of thick cut bacon ($8) which was smokey and a perfect medium cook. Chef Cari came out to express her gratitude for my visit, which only made me wish more folks had joined me that day.
