I never want to give bad reviews but I might to with this place. It doesn't make sense to me how it takes you on average 10 minutes to make one dish. I came in on a Sunday morning. 10am'ish. I'm expecting to be out within the hour. I didn't get to work until noon. Place was busy for sure, but there were only 4 tables ahead of me when I got in. I'm sure everyone just ordered one item. It took a whopping 1hour and 40 minutes to get my food. I get it. I hear the arguments. I've read the reviews. You want good food? You gotta wait. Makes absolutely no sense to me how this works here. People defending them, you can burn me all you want, but in no way is this acceptable. Literally was making one order before the next. Was the food good? Yes it was. It was delicious. But not 1:45 wait time delicious. I don't know what else to say, just very very disappointed. I get it, it has its charm. And you want to support local. And you want to support an all female kitchen. But I don't know, if you're gonna open for business and plead for support from the locals, you have to do at least your part and have a plan. Unless, this was the plan all along.

You will have to wait- because it is WORTH IT! Rain or snow or shine- this place always has a line, and because the food is excellent! The service is great- the staff is always sweet and welcoming. It is a feast for the senses. Art and stickers adorn the walls and games in nooks to entertain you while they make the best food. Menu is listed up on the white boards- always fresh, made with quality ingredients in large portions! Come HUNGRY! Creative flavors and seasonal specials- a foodies paradise! CASH ONLY!!!

Seeking a true diner experience?! Look no further than Golden Harvest on the north side of Lansing! Sassy and welcoming team members, zany decor, sticky condiment bottles, and tasty eats make this place a go to for hangover or any day nom nom's! Golden Harvest makes it simple, their menus are written on the walls and all meals are $15. We opted for the biscuits and gravy and polish scramble both with a side of regular French toast. The biscuits and gravy were perfect with a hint of Smokey goodness. The polish scramble was also tasty (needed a bit of hot sauce) but the fresh tomatoes and green onions, sprinkled on top, really set it off! The French toast, so simple yet so good! Our waiter was attentive and kind, and almost as important, kept the coffee coming! Can't wait to come back and see what other yumminess the menu has in store! Golden Harvest only accepts cash or venmo for payment so know before you go folx!

So happy we found this place! Great food and great people. You may have to wait a while for your food, but once you taste it, you'll know why it's worth your wait. Reasonable prices and huge portions. I'd recommend this place to everyone in town.

Best breakfast in the Lansing area HANDS DOWN! They do what they say out in the front - make food with care. Excellent service from Daryl, he was so friendly and always kept my coffee full! Everything that came out of the kitchen looked immaculate, I'm super excited to be coming back for more. Well worth the wait, and the vibes were amazing in there.

Breakfast quesadilla. Way too much happening here.

Really wanted to like this place, but it wasn't a good experience. The breakfast quesadilla sounded good on paper (or, the white board, since they don't have paper menus). But in reality, there was way too much going on. Too messy to pick up, it appeared to be almost fried on the outside and included a ton of spicy mayo (what?) on top of it. Really couldn't taste the eggs and bacon inside because of all the needless stuff going on. Service was really bad. The place is small but it was full, so I understand they were busy. But the waitress took the orders of two tables that came in well after us before she took ours. Took about 40 minutes for food to arrive.

Another never judge a book by its cover. Atmosphere is very eclectic to say the least, background music on point. Food was definitely a 10/10 portion size was great all the meals are $15 drinks are not included in the price. Small and unexpected. It was recommended and I'm so glad we went. We will most definitely be back

WOW!! These ladies can cook!! The freshness of the food, everything is cut, prepped to order. The feels from the moment you step inside the door is oh yeah I'm about to enjoy whatever I have. We will definitely return. Cash Venmo only

Not used, soda is served in cans.

Not bad, but wouldn't order my meal again. I would give this place another chance. I had the sausage gravy and biscuits with bacon and potatoes. The gravy was okay but not the best that I have had. Biscuits were good but not rememberable. The American fried potatoes were the best of the entire plate.

I'm in Lansing for a sports tournament and went to this place for breakfast and was extremely happy! The staff are all extremely friendly and we had nice conversations. The coffee is great and I had flowing refills, and I ordered the Blueberry French Toast and it was absolutely incredible. The vibes were great as well, it felt very cozy and comforting. Just not that they do not accept card, just cash & venmo.

Great food! Long wait. Our waiter, Darrell, gave his jacket to our friend because she was cold. He proved to be both a scholar & gentleman.

I also liked the mismatched mugs. They seemed seriously understaffed, and service was very slow. We ordered drinks, and waited long enough for someone to come back to take our food order that we were starting to wonder if they thought we were only getting drinks. There was another long wait for our food. When it arrived, it arrived in batches. One person ordered three tacos, but the order was entered wrong, so they only got one to start, and they had to wait quite a while for the other two. The food was good overall, but the portions were quite small. I did like the Bourbon Street French toast, particularly the caramel sauce. It could have used more bananas though. The fried pickles were good, as were the spicy mozzarella sticks. The steak omelet's sauce was odd. The nachos were good. The coffee and lattes were good. The regular orange juice had less juice than one poured for our toddler. Overall it was alright, but I don't know that I'd go back.

The Kevin Bacon LT was one of their many varieties of avocado toast which tasted very fresh and clean. Came in on a Sunday morning in August and the wait was 20 minutes, which is normally not an issue but the restaurant was only about 75% full. Service was a little slow but did not alter our positive experience. We will definitely be coming back to try more things on the menu.

Batter Up Bistro reminds me of several places I've visited in New Orleans with a jazz trio playing ragtime as I enjoyed brunch and maybe a midday Hurricane cocktail. The interior is rustic chic while still being warm and inviting and I really enjoyed the beverages I ordered. The Apple Crisp Latte ($8) I ordered for my breakfast visit was hot and made me feel even more cozy. Apple simple syrup paired with house coffee blend and oat milk with notes of cinnamon was very pleasing to the palette without been blown away by apple flavor. The Baron ($15) was a pre-dinner cocktail with whiskey, ginger beer & liquor, almond bitters, and a hickory smoked finish. It was strong, but not breathtaking, a well-balanced flavor profile. What's Really Good Dinner service was suitable even if a bit slow, especially given the few diners that were also in attendance that evening. The bar tender was also waiting tables and while he was capable and hospitable, he clearly had too much on his plate running the front of house solo. I started with the Sea Scallop appetizer ($17). Three substantial scallops with a dill forward dusting sit atop a lovely, creamy parsnip puree. The puree was slightly sweet and the microgreens that were likely intended more as a garnish offered a nice textural note. The scallops were cooked uneven if I'm being honest where only one out of the three had a desirable brown crust and the other two were grayer. Dinner went up several notches with the Pan-seared Salmon ($32) which I ordered blackened. The fish was tender and flaky, and the blackened seasoning was right on target. The salmon paired quite well with the roasted Brussels sprouts, which themselves had a lovely char, and the wild rice. I also appreciated the accompanying blackberries which offered a touch of sweetness without compromising earthiness. Best Bite My first visit was a bit lonely as I was the only patron dining on a Thursday mid-morning. Perhaps the previous day's snowfall had scared others away, but I was itching to get out and about finding the breakfast selections a respite from winter's doldrums. I ordered the Eggs Benny ($20) with perfectly poached eggs atop their delightful house baked toast which was dense enough to hold up the thinly sliced ham, eggs, microgreens, and herbaceous hollandaise sauce. The sauce was rich and creamy with a pleasant punch of lemon and dill. The dish is served with garlic and herbed red skin breakfast potatoes and they were a hit. Also, a star was the side of thick cut bacon ($8) which was smokey and a perfect medium cook. Chef Cari came out to express her gratitude for my visit, which only made me wish more folks had joined me that day.
