Started off my Vegas Mt. Charleston Marathon weekend by having lunch here upon the arrival of our flight. The restaurant was empty when we arrived since they had just opened. I specifically wanted to come here to try their lobster and noodles dish. Upon being seated, we were offered water while we looked through the menu. The staff brought out our lobster live to get our approval prior to the chefs doing their magic. We went with the 3.5 lb lobster. Ordered hot sake and beers for the table while we waited for the food. Food was ready in about 15 minutes, smoking hot and fresh. The lobster and noodles dish was the star of the show. Between the three of us, there was NOTHING left on the plate, it was shockingly delicious, flavorful, and well prepared. The lobster was cooked to perfection and everything was coated in a ginger based sauce. Absolutely worth the price. This dish has become a must try every time I am in Vegas. read more

Came here for the house special lobster over E-mein and it did not disappoint .. the restaurant is like any typical Chinese family meal style restaurant . Lots of big family tables. Service was great.. our waiter made a mistake on our order and comp us for it. So we ordered the lunch special salt n pepper pork chops that comes with a bowl of rice and soup. When it came out it was the regular plate not the lunch size and we told him we had pointed to the lunch special and he said no problem and left the big portion and comp'd us.. the pork chop was good flavored and texture. The dish I came for was amazing!!! The noodles were deliciously buttered style noodles with some special sauce they cooked the lobster with that the topped the noodles .. the lobster was cooked so perfect. Tender and sweet! Before traveling anywhere, I always research where locals go to eat. Capital Seafood popped up and the food pics looked great. The location was pretty easy to find with many other businesses in close proximity. We were quickly greeted and seated. The restaurant is located on the second level and has a view of the Strip in the distance. The restaurant was clean and fairly spacious. Their menu is quite extensive with pictures of some of their dishes From my research I knew I wanted to try the Salt and Pepper Pork Chops. But they also had a Crispy Fried Chicken available in either half or whole sizes. We settled on the pork chops, half crispy fried chicken, black mushrooms with Chinese broccoli, and steamed rice. The food came out so fast after we ordered, I couldn't believe it! Salt and Pepper Pork Chops- believe the hype they were fantastic. Black Mushroom and Chinese Broccoli- very delicious and that sauce was amazing on the steamed rice Crispy Fried Chicken- very misleading menu name. There was nothing crispy or fried about it. It also came out cold internally. Don't get me wrong, it appeared to be fully cooked. So much so that the chicken breast was dry. It's as if it were fully cooked in advance and reheated for service. Whatever the case it was a disappointment. The server asked how everything was and I explained the issue with the chicken. He didn't seem to be surprised, signaling they've heard this before. They asked if we wanted it recooked or exchanged for something else. We decided to have it taken off our bill with no replacement dish. The portion size is pretty decent and we had more than enough with the pork chop, mushroom dish and steamed rice. At the end of the meal they brought out a small bowl of tapioca porridge. We ordered a whole roast duck, salt and pepper pork chops, walnut shrimp, fried rice, hk style noodles and garlic green beans. The salt and pepper pork chops were our favorite. I honestly wasn't very impressed the first time I visited because we ordered a couple dishes without getting their specialties and on this second visit I take it all back because the seafood dishes goes crazy, especially the lobster noodles! I'd recommend this spot as a place to celebrate and enjoy a seafood meal (their specialty) but make sure to call ahead or even plan ahead of time if you are trying to get lobster/crab dishes! Capital Seafood definitely hits all the spots!!!! Their location is only 5mins from the strip in Chinatown Plaza. Once you walk in, it's Bright, Modern, and Clean with slight hints of Asian decadence. We were a party of 6, and the staff was very accommodating to everyone's preferences, from drinks to food, silverware or chopsticks, and even hot tea or water. Since we were all over the place with the menu, our waiter was very patient with our requests since we went with the Family Meal. It came with a total of 9 dishes, and he was very helpful with explaining each entree. We love the house lobster! We try to go when in Vegas... The lobster is always fresh. They bring the live lobster to confirm it is sufficient before preparing. We also like the salt and pepper shrimp. Omg the shrimp were large and juicy!!! I don't always like larger shrimp because they aren't as flavorful. These shrimp were well prepared and delicious!!! I honestly don't understand the high ratings for this place; it was incredibly misleading. If you are looking for authentic Chinese cuisine or fresh seafood, keep driving. I rarely leave reviews, but this experience was beyond unacceptable. We spent over $500 at this restaurant and were treated like we didn't exist. Not once did a single staff member come to our table voluntarily. No check-ins. No plate clearing. No napkin removal. Nothing. Our table sat covered in finished dishes for most of the night. I asked twice -- clearly and politely -- for the dirty plates to be removed. Both times the waiters nodded and walked away, only to completely ignore the request. Instead, they continued walking past our table, heading back to the kitchen laughing and talking, while we sat surrounded by a mess. What made the situation impossible to ignore was the obvious difference in treatment. Every couple of minutes, staff were at other tables providing attentive service -- clearing plates immediately, checking in, smiling, engaging. Meanwhile, we couldn't get basic service even after asking. The contrast was so consistent and so clear that it honestly felt discriminatory. After leaving, I looked at other reviews -- and I was shocked to see similar complaints about the same kind of treatment. That says a lot. As for the food, it was nowhere near worth the price. Saw a video on IG which made us put this place on our list while in Vegas. We were seated right away and given complimentary hot tea. They brought cold wipes to clean our hands. We ordered the House Special lobster with noodles and the French style beef steak. They bring a whole lobster table side to you before cooking and tell you the weight to make sure you're ok with it. Our food came out in a timely manner and looked amazing! It was by far the best food we had that weekend. The garlic buttery flavors of the lobster and noodles with a hint of spice excited our palette. I don't eat red meat but the beef looked amazing as well. My husband said it was super tender, had great flavor on its own, but the lime and salt and pepper sauce was a great added treat. The menu is very large and had some many great options. Yooooooooooooooooo! Me and the family came here to celebrate New Year's, and since we're Chinese, you already know we take our lucky New Year dishes very seriously . We've been seeing this place all over Instagram, so we figured it was time to finally give it a try and see if it lived up to the hype. We started with the fish maw soup, and honestly, this was one of the highlights of the meal. It was comforting, rich, and full of depth--especially once you add red vinegar and white pepper, which really takes it to another level. Definitely a solid way to kick things off. Next up was the Peking duck, which unfortunately didn't impress us as much as we hoped. It was pretty mid overall. At a lot of places, the duck is usually done three ways--the soup, the crispy skin, and the meat--but here they only served the skin with bao buns, and the remaining meat was cooked with ginger and scallions. The meat itself was decent, but the skin wasn't very crispy, which is kind of the whole point. Because of that, the dish ended up being just okay and nothing memorable. The dish that really saved the experience for me was the lobster noodles. There was a bit of a hiccup at first because they brought out just the lobster, even though we ordered it with noodles. They ended up adding the noodles afterward, so we were low-key worried it wouldn't taste right since everything wasn't cooked together. Surprisingly, it still came out really good, flavorful, and satisfying--definitely one of the better dishes of the night. We also ordered the steamed fish, which is usually one of my favorite New Year dishes, but this version was a little underwhelming. It leaned on the bland side and could've used a bit more salt to really bring out the flavors. We rounded things out with the house special clay pot and garlic string beans, but both of those were also just mediocre, nothing bad but nothing that stood out either. As for service, it was understandably slow, but they were absolutely slammed for New Year's, so that's expected. The ambiance itself was very family-friendly, which made it a nice place to celebrate with a big group. Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but it didn't fully live up to the Instagram hype. I have been dining at Capital Seafood for years now and I cannot believe haven't written a yelp review on this gem of a restaurant! Maybe I was subconsciously gate keeping it lol. It is located on the second floor of Pacific Asian Plaza. Right above 99 ranch market. It's the perfect place to dine a large group of friends or the whole family! The generous portions for the price is unbeatable. It's Perfect for sharing or taking home leftovers. The food is always hot and fresh. The Menu is HUGE, so you are bound to find something you like or discover something new! Service is efficient, I wouldn't describe it as "cheery or friendly" but the servers are always respectful and attentive. I think it's typical of Asian restaurants that primarily serves Asian language speakers/community. I'm actually starting to think Language barrier is equals to crazy-delicious food! Haha! Our big group made a reservation on a Saturday dinner, and there were plenty of other tables open. They're located on the 2nd floor of Chinatown Plaza, very conveniently next to 99 ranch for grocery shopping after dinner! As in most restaurants, some dishes were hit, some were miss (listed below). Prices are pretty average-ish high (cheaper than China mama), and portion sizes are reasonable. They gave complimentary soup-dessert! That was a fantastic touch. Rice is not free ($1 each), which is what it is... WOULD recommend: 1) Pork Chop with Salt and Pepper - Well salted, meat has plenty of flavor 2) French Style Beef - although this dish is more expensive, the beef is cubed, fantastically seasoned, and not tough at all - Flavor is a little Asian-ized 3) Honey Walnut Shrimp - Big shrimp pieces, not crispy (like American style is), but it is saucy and creamy NOT recommend: 1) Chicken with lemongrass and chili - This was straight up WEIRD!!! Flavor was off, it was overly spicy and numbing, and just not enjoyable 2) Crispy Fried Tofu - They give like 6 pieces of tofu. NOT GREAT!!! Portion was tiny, it was literally just some tofu, and that was it. Rip off. 3) Yang Chow Chow Fried Rice - Flavor was acceptable, but there are WAY better places to go for this. This was the worst decision for dinner tonight. We are celebrating my birthday and only a party of 4. Place was not too busy, but our food took FOREVER to come out. We thought it was a Chinese seafood restaurant but they also served Vietnamese food. We had the Vietnamese catfish hot and sour soup. The fish was cut very thin and looked light gray. When I tasted it, the fish texture appeared to be frost bitten, corse compared to the usual white soft texture that I am used to eating. The soup was good, just the fish was bad. Also had a steam Chinese fish. The fish was not good either. It still smelled fishy and the texture was not fresh. Everything else was doable. Definitely will not return for the price or taste.
