Fong was super amazing. Her pedicure was so good! She has the massage down. She put me in and out of sleep. Best pedicure I've had since moving to Oregon. I only wish she was on the coast. I moved away from this area, and ended up visiting a couple salons around Beaverton/ Tigard. This place is still hands down the best place I have been. I'm currently soaking off a manicure I got TODAY from another salon, so that I can go get my nails done here instead. They never fail me. Made an appointment and when I turned up they seemed surprised by that. Left me sitting there for about 15 minutes before even acknowledging me and then told me they would be another 10 minutes and did I want to soak. Sure, ok. Gave me a very unapologetic excuse about one of their staff going home. Ummm, ok, that's fine, but how about telling me when I arrive there will be a delay? Waited another 15 minutes and I could not wait any longer as I had to be somewhere at a certain time. Told them I no longer had time and got another muttered supposed apology. I am in love! The family who owns and operates this place is amazing. They are all super friendly and me and my friend went in to get our brows waxed and pedicures. I nearly fainted that I paid $45 with tip for those...seriously??!! And she totally took her time actually detailing my nails and getting every ounce of dead skin of those toes. I don't know what happened to Capitol Nails but the people there don't seem to be very interested in their customers anymore. They either don't write down why I'm coming in or something, but the person helping me never seems to know what I am there for, which is their most deluxe pedicure. The actual pedicure used to be wonderful but now just so-so. I'm sad to say I will be looking for a new and better place. I like them so this makes me sad, but I have noticed this trend the last 3-4 times I've gone there and it's not getting better. read more

I was really hoping to like this salon but the service when getting a pedicure is lackluster at best. The last time I was there they made me leave before my toenails were dry because two people came in together and I was sitting between two empty chairs. Instead of moving me over one seat they asked me to leave. The have also changed my tip from $5 on a $27 pedicure to $10. I cannot recommend this salon. read more

Love this place. I have been to several of the nail salons in the Far Southwest Portland Tigard area. Some have been OK, some have been very disappointing. This one has been the best. I have come to this place on and off for 2 years and have always liked them but this past 2 times I have really impressed me. The girl I saw for my gel manicure actually recommended that I take a nail break since my nails were so weak, that really showed me she cared about my nail health rather then money. I think her name is Michelle? She is tall and has long brown hair.I also got one of the best pedicures from Trin I have had in a long while. She really actually took the time and was meticulous about my toes. They are very reasonably priced as well and have shows on the TV for entrainment. I came in for the first time as I was recommended by a friend. This salon is not really convenient to me but I will tell you that I will go out of my way to come back for Trin (I think that's her name). She waxed my underarms and face. Quick and as painless as waxing can be. She then gave me the BEST gel manicure I've ever had. I know that sounds over the top but let me explain. I have severe eczema (as the pic will show) on one of my hands. I purposefully only use muted colors because I have such an insecurity about it. I rarely get manis done as techs usually either 1) treat me like I have the plague barely touching my hand or 2) are so rough they make me bleed. Trin was perfect. I told her about it and she didn't make a big deal but just kept up conversation. It is now day 5 and the gel is still 100% in place!! For most people that's not extraordinary but for my peeling, warped nails it's a miracle!! I'll be back! read more

This place had great prices advertised and decent reviews, so I gave it a shot. It seems like they have the best pedicure prices around and do a good job. Unfortunately I'm not a pedicure gal. I went here to get a shellac manicure. The price was average, $25 for color nails. The experience was nice. The massage was great and the people friendly. The place was clean, too. My shellac unfortunately was painted too low on my nail and onto the cuticle, so when my nails grew just a tiny bit there was a terrible ridge and they immediately started to chip. I usually get 2 weeks+ out of a good shellac manicure, and I only got a week out of this one because of the technique. If I ever need a pedicure or regular manicure I'd go back here for their prices. For Shellac I'm sticking with my new favorite place by the Tigard Winco. read more

I bite the skin around my nails, so I walked in with a hot mess of fingernails. Trin did both my toes and fingers and did an AMAZING job. The people who work here are awesome! I got my nails painted right before leaving Seattle for my birthday trip to Oregon. The girl who did my nails in Seattle globbed on the paint on my accent nails and didn't let it dry before baking the shellac on over the top. Needless to say, they never dried and smeared off within hours. I was pretty frustrated :( I looked up the nearest nail joint to where we were staying overnight and it happened to be capital nails. I went in today right after 10 am and showed the gentleman there what was happening. I picked Seahawks blue as my new accent color and he removed the gross, smeary old paint on fixed me right up. Then he told me to have a good rest of my trip. He wouldn't let me pay for the two nails he fixed! He told me not to worry and have a great day. I know it was just two nails, but that was so kind of him and it really made my day. When I'm back in the area, this will be the only place I go! read more

I love the color changing mood polish too - it comes in acrylic (gel) which is even better! I'm a caterer so I often don't bother with a mani, since I'll just ruin it when I work, but I got one with acrylic polish and was amazed at how well it held up for weeks (and several big catering gigs) afterward! Been here off and on for a decade. They aren't the best place I've ever been too but for walk in ready, and good price, and you can do eyebrows in the same visit, they are that good to great. You never know how good this place is until you wonder into a different place. I always go back. That says something. This place is good enough to be a regular, even if it's just a few tunes a year... If your picky about something just tell them, nicely. They will accommodate it. I always just say exactly how I like things from the very beginning. The owner checks on the progress if she's not doing my service, she will make sure her teams working together. I appreciate that. She cares, even if she's busy to make it exactly how you like it. That's good business. They did my never manicured boyfriends dragons feet once and said nothing. That says something too. I normally get my nails done by my family but they now live too far so I go to other nail salons with high expectations. I've been to several nail salons since I moved to Portland but none have really reached my expectations as far as quality, service, and gentleness went. The salon before this made my acrylics super thick and gloppy so I waited an extra long time to get a fill... I thought I was going to have to take the acrylics off and get a new set. Amy, from Capitol Nails, was very nice to me. I explained my situation to her and instead of charging me to take my current set off, she suggested working with what I had on and she would file it down so the acrylics would look more natural. She was very gentle and did not hurt me once. We conversed the whole time and I was naturally very comfortable with her. She is a very sweet person and I will definitely be coming back to her! The whole staff is family only. They're all brothers, sisters, or in laws. Loved the atmosphere. As far as color selection went, they had a decent amount of different colors and brands. What caught my attention was how they color coordinated the polish bottles (I can be OCD like that..) To end this review, I highly recommend anyone to try this salon! I don't doubt everybody who works here are talented enough to do whatever you want. I, however, will be returning to Amy. Love her work! read more

Outstanding kindness was shown to me today. I was unable to get into their great massaging chairs for a pedicure because of weak legs and needing to stay on my scooter. The attendant actually sat on the floor and used a portable pedicure basin to give me a great pedicure. This is customer service from the heart and I was so touched and grateful - it actually made me cry. But within a week all but 3 of the nails had popped off! The acrylic was so thick that I feel like they didn't adhere very well at all. I got clear dip with tips and gel polish. It may not be the cheapest price but I have never had anyone take as much time to do my nails as they did here. It was obvious that they take pride in their work and want you to leave satisfied. They were very meticulous with their work and even experiment new methods on each other to find the best results so they can implement them with their customers.The staff was extremely nice and fun to chat with. I've been looking for a great nail place since i moved to the Village. I'm very picky for a nail place in fear of not being clean etc. I was pleased to find that not only do they used sterilized equipment, I saw two different employees while I was these switch out the blue sanitizing liquid and rinse and clean spa tub immediately after use. I don't like leaving bad reviews on Yelp for places -- I figure that usually an experience was due to an off day, etc. But I came here for a shellac pedi with Beverly and had a horrible experience. From when I walked in it took a while, but when I finally got to a chair and put my feet in, she said she'd be a few minutes because she was going to go eat. Now, I'm not a psycho that wants people to starve or something, but I thought it was strange that she did that while the pedi was supposed to be happening. She left me soaking for about 20 minutes and then came back and chatted with a friend who had come in for some other service but was hanging out in the chair next to mine. When she started to apply the polish on one nail, I noticed that the color was off from what it looked like on the sample (a greenish-grey instead of a pearl color) I stopped her as soon as I could and asked her if it was the right color. She said that it was, and asked me if I wanted to change it. Sheepishly, I said yes please, and then she put the new color on. She said, "Take a good look at it to see if you like it, because once I cure it I will not take it off for you." I felt so uncomfortable and apologized for asking to switch polishes, but she ignored me. The rest of the pedi was passed in an awkward silence, except for when she chatted to her friend. At one point she left to call someone outside on her phone and then came back. I was going to get a manicure and almost decided to not and leave since I was quietly upset, but my nails looked terrible so I stayed. Beverly was also my nail tech for my hands, and I didn't want to spend any more time with her or give them more money (shellac mani and pedi). I downgraded my mani to a regular polish one. This all took over 2 hours. Even though I was very annoyed and weirded out by the whole experience, I decided to leave a good tip because I didn't want to be THAT person. When I handed Beverly the tip even she seemed surprised and smiled at me for the first time during the entire thing, which is annoying too, but mostly kind of funny since it seemed even she realized it didn't go well. I won't be coming here again, so I guess this entire review was extra, but needed to say something since I couldn't bring myself to in the moment. read more

My mother-in-law took me here for a pedicure right before Easter. We didn't have an appointment and didn't have to wait, though other walk-ins 30 minutes later ended up having to wait for a while. It was very comfortable, though they had a smaller selection of paints my mom-in-law would have preferred. It was $22 for each, but since we didn't bring our own files they charged an extra dollar I believe. However, we got to take them home and can bring them with us the next time we go in. I've never gone to a nail salon on my own accord and have a hard time justifying the money, but I just might go back to get another relaxing pedicure. read more

I reached a goal today, so I decided to treat myself to a manicure. The shop was pretty quiet when I got there around 4, so I got right in without having an appointment. It's a family run shop, and I worked with one of the daughters of the owner. She did a great job - I got a shellac French manicure and it looks great. I'll go back there when I need a pedicure. Most of the ladies are very kind and friendly. Unfortunately they typically don't prioritize me when I schedule appointments. I've been coming here for a year now. It's sit and wait in between services when other clients walk in. Although beautiful, my last gel manicure to almost 3 hours. I've never spent that much time at a salon. My first gel pedicure was bumping and the gel was pealing within a week. Not worth the money you pay, esp if they scrub each foot for less then 30 seconds. Literally. This place is better than all the others that I've tried in Garden Home, Hillsdale and close-in Tigard. The environment is friendly. They have a great selection of polishes both regular and gel. They give great massages. I love my nails! They shaped them really well and the polish looks great. Truly the best manicure I've ever gotten.
