I got a manicure done here by Christee. The sides of half of my nails were missed and the application of the color was noticeabley uneven. It was also just weird because she asked me about me and then judged everything I said. I was offered to come back and have her fix my nails but I had no time as it was right before Christmas. She would not give me a refund. I've had other people tell me this place isn't that great and now I see why. read more

One of the best facials I have EVER had. Christee is very experienced, and it showed. I came here with a Living Social coupon, and I am so glad I did. I would recommend her facial to anyone. I love facials, and will deal with the love/hate relationship I have with extractions (hurt so good kinda mantra) . But her experience with extractions is evident, because while it was uncomfortable, I wasn't dying for her to finish and counting seconds in my head. She is very skilled, and has been in the industry for 14 years. She is very detailed when it comes to looking at your skin and gave me some great suggestions for my problem areas. The spa is updated, nicely decorated, and quiet. She is just so friendly, and it was so easy and relaxing to be here. I am moving to California in the near future, and I kind wish I could pack her up and bring her with me. Seriously folks, she provides a fantastic facial. My skin looked amazing afterwards, when often times post facial, it looks red and splotchy. I went shopping afterward, and even with no make up on, I received 2 compliments on my skin. The BEST facial I have ever had! I am not kidding. Christee is the best esthetician I have ever had (and I've had a lot of facials). I live in Seattle and come to Portland nearly every week for work. I make it a point to see Christee once a month. My best friend HATED facials until she met Christee. Now she joins me monthly. Christee is professional, educated, experienced and makes you feel incredibly comfortable (not to mention relaxed). Pricing is competitive - not that it matters because I would pay double for her. There is ample parking in a lot across the street and I have never had to wait for my appointment. If you want recommendations, Christee will offer them, but she doesn't push "upsales" or try to sell her products. I can't say enough good things! read more

I won't go any other place for a pedicure. Christee is very professional, gives good advice (only when asked!) and seems to genuinely love what she's doing. My best friend and I first tried The Spa Upstairs after finding a Groupon for facials with Christie and have gone back every chance we get. She not only gives a wonderful facial, she gives a fantastic neck, arm and hand massage while your face mask is on. I have had other facials that have always made my sensitive skin break out, that has never happened here, even with her doing extractions. She also used such great products on me I started using some of them at home. My BFF's and I wanted to have a spa day. We try to do one at least once a year. During one of our Spa Day's we met Christee, at another spa. Christee now has her own spa and are we ever happy. She has created a wonderful oasis of calm and bliss. The spa space is really beautiful. Part of the experience for me is the atmosphere. She gave us the whole spa for our party! She was great at helping us schedule all of our treatments and rotating us so that there was time in between to socialize. No one was ever left sitting alone waiting for thier next spa experience. We had massages, facials, mani's and pedi's the works. We sat around in comfy plush robes that she supplied and nippled on great treats , there is a kitchen area that allowed us to set up our wine and nibbles. Christee and her staff waited on us hand and foot! No pun intended. And yes Christee is very good at facials. I have been getting facials for years, the products she uses are very high end. I booked a facial and foot soak using a Groupon I purchased. The service I recieved was fantastic. My asthetician was Ali. She was amazing! My skin feels so soft and glowing and I am still completley relaxed 3 hrs later. I will be back! My only very tiny, small complaint is the loud talking and laughing coming from outside our room.
