Hung out before a show, wanted a quick bite. Medium to large venue in Asbury Park. Metered parking all around, attached to a bar, & above a live music venue. Cool spot with good vibes. Dim lighting, but not too dim. Fast & friendly service, but most importantly.....the food is good. All together we had the Vodka Knots, which were excellent. The Cheesy Bread, which doesn't offer much in the way of flavor on its own, definitely relies on the marinara to carry it. Garlic Shrimp, was also very good. Fried Cauliflower is a bit unexpected, it's neither salty, nor sweet & savory....it's actually kinda spicy. I'm not used to it having a kick. Different, not bad....just different. Mozzarella Sticks, are an easy standard, & the Margherita Pizza was very well executed. Definitely a spot that can be a go-to for quick bar food in the area. Grades: Vodka Knots: A Cheesy Bread: C Garlic Shrimp: A Fried Cauliflower: B Mozzarella Sticks: B+ Margherita Pizza: A

Had dinner last night at Capitoline with a group of 6. The vibe inside is very chill, and I hadn't realized that it is connected to (and owned by the same owner of) Loteria, and Bond Street. We started with the garlic shrimp, Caesar salad, and Meatball which were all good but not showstoppers. That being said - the pizzas were all outstanding: thin crust Fungo mushroom pizza, Caperoni pizza with pepperoni and hot honey (also thin crust), and The Grandpa (my fave) pizza with Foccicia crust with caramelized onions and roasted red peppers. We ordered way too much food but pizza leftovers are never a bad idea! They were unfortunately very short staffed. Our waitress was great but she was also the hostess and serving pretty much every table. Because she was so overworked, this led to a few mistakes with our pizza order, our second round of drinks, and the check. All of these issues were addressed but they're the main reason for my less than 5 star review.

Recently visited Capitoline after they renovated and reopened. We were extremely disappointed that they've raised all of their prices and no longer have any wines in an affordable price point. We've always loved Capitoline and were sad for them that their dinner crowd was never what it should've been...raising the prices is not going to help bring in a crowd. The food is still delicious but it's not quite the hidden gem it used to be.

Whatever you do don't order Irish car bombs here. You'll get 2 ounces of Guinness and when you ask the bartender to top it off and make it the correct way they'll start yelling at you telling you that they've been bartending for years and that you don't know what you're talking about and to go somewhere else. Terrible service and shitty pours.

Everything we had was delicious. We were here twice in one night! We started with appetizers that were so delicious and portions were large. We were too full to get dinner so we went two other bars and came back later for pizza that was AMAZING. The ricotta with olives was incredible.

The ambience / environment feel of this place was pretty chill for a summer evening, some people hanging out by the bar as they waited for their tables and family's eating at their tables. With no reservations we had to wait 20min-ish for a table for 4, not bad... the food was delicious; inclusive of the pizza, pasta, salad, calamari and their service was very friendly and accommodating! We also enjoyed their cocktails; the rose gold was a perfect recommendation for me as a bourbon lover!

ASBURY PARK: we built up an appetite after Yappy Hour and were walking around downtown Asbury Park looking for a dog-friendly restaurant that was open on a Monday night and discovered Capitoline! We are so happy we did! Leashed-dogs are allowed at the outdoor tables and between the tree-lined street and downtown vibe, it was so nice to be there. On a nice day, they open their windows, so if you are sitting outside, you can hear the buzz of the kitchen. The menu is Italian comfort food and we had a deliciously tender Artichoke Hearts appetizer along with a couple of perfectly made cocktails. It was so good! Our waitress was sweet and attentive and we give her a lot of credit as she had her hands full working tables inside and outside. Capitoline is part of "The Complex", a group of restaurants in AP that all have dog friendly outdoor seating. AP is a very dog friendly town, so keep an eye out for pups walking passed the restaurant.

Had dinner here last weekend when a lot of other places had no availability. Service was attentive and we got our food pretty quickly. Our table just ordered a few things to share: Meatballs: lacking in seasoning but the ricotta spread was AMAZING Fried mozzarella sticks: solid, complaints Clams: honestly, these were a waste. They had absolutely no flavor Burrata: delicious, and came with a little honey drizzle Meat lovers pizza: solid lotion, good crust and good topping to pizza ratio Peach cobbler special: so good! Comes with ice cream Prices are in line with other restaurants in the area.

We came here on a Tuesday evening, and it seems that they were overwhelmed, despite not having that many patrons, as it took forever for a server to come by our table and they never checked in on us while we were eating. We got a couple of drinks, and order of fries and a margherita pizza. I'm glad we got the fries, because the pizza was so bad. The fries were hot and lightly salted. But the pizza tasted like a cracker with unseasoned tomato sauce on top. I only ate one slice and finished the meal with the rest of the fries.

Love the decor, the place is warm and inviting, but also very open. there are even stairs to go downstairs to another bar and to watch some bands. the server was friendly and quick. Came here for their NOLA themed Mardi Gras menu, and i have to say, although its not the real thing i think this jersey italian spot did pretty damn good. Also, id like to state..their fungi pizza is a must get! my friend ordered it and i took a slice - its thick and has ALOT of flavor. between the veggies, shrooms, and goat cheese i was HAPPY. the crust is thick and hand rolled too. Fried green tomatoes were ehh. i appreciated the effort, but wasnt a big fan. the "creole" mustard sauce to dip into was a nice touch. The catfish poboy was pretty good. in fact, the other half i took home and ate the next day was even better. always..let...the..flavor..marinate! the fish was fried perfectly, with a thin layer of a crust. lets talk size - it was huge. the sandwhich and my fish of course. they truly gave us a nice size fish! the toppings were too dry, the typical NOLA poboy is a bit more of a wet dressing and fixing type of toppings to pair with the protein of choice. bread was okay, maybe a bit too hard. however, i think it was a nice attempt at a poboy. the hurricane drink - the bar tender did a good job at this. although not an authentic hurricane from NOLA, i see the train of through and felt it was very close..with their own flare. it was strong for sure! felt refreshing and not too sweet! would come back when in town for sure!

Favorite restaurant in asbury! More chic and cool than a fast-casual joint but not too expensive/fancy. Always come here for a cheeky bite to eat after a beach day. The mozzarella sticks are definitely chunky and have a bit of funk form the parm on top to elevate its complexity a bit. The chicken for sure added to the pizza we ordered this time if you want that extra source of protein, if you're super hungry from being at the beach all day. I think all the other pizzas have a different crust because this one specifically says "focaccia crust" on the menu. Thought they were kinda strict about checking IDs though so make sure you don't forget even if you're of age

    Vodka garlic knots

We stopped in on a whim- daughter, granddaughter, mom- wow! All three generations loved it. We started with vodka garlic knots- fabulous! Had cheese bread, plain pepperoni pizza and meatballs. All were delicious. Took home lots of leftovers and looking forward to our leftovers tomorrow. Dessert was doughnuts with expresso whipped cream (which we opted out of whipped cream)! 100% would recommend- delicious food in a cool atmosphere.

Whenever I'm in Asbury & I want Italian food i come here. It's the perfect combo of casual & nice, with high quality food, & great ambiance. Whether it's a packed weekend night or a cozy weekday dinner vibe, I always enjoy myself here (and they play good music!). The wait staff are always fun & helpful. My friend & I decided to split the Fried Mozzarella small plate, & a Grandpa pizza with added crispy chicken (we were craving a protein), & it was the best decision I made all week. We both agreed the food tasted fresh & well seasoned. The drink was delicious as well, & I loved how pretty it looked. I love to sit by the bar seats against the window (great view of the street for people watching & getting some fresh air hahah). Please bring back your burrata small plate, a few people I know miss it dearly. Can't wait for my next meal here.

We got the garlic parm wings for an app. And you could taste the better quality wing that you were eating! Bell and Evans poultry man..... no joke. The lady had a hot honey, basil, ricotta dollop, (and some Italian meat that I am forgetting as of right now). It was good. I had the cheesesteak. When I say it was quite possibly the best cheese steak I ever had. I mean that solely on taste!!!! I dunno what Pat LaFrieda does to their rib eye....... But it is damn good. The thing I really love about this cheese steak is, even though you get a cheesy cheese steak, the cheese never drowns out the taste of the steak! I have had so many cheese steaks where the cheese overtakes the meat or the meat itself is completely tasteless. THE BAD. The price of this place was definitely above my broke A$$ to get on any regular basis. Between the price and the distance I am glad I don't live closer to this place (I would probably end up homeless!). And charging 2 bucks more for a salad instead of fries I find insane (but that is everywhere). And the 3% service fee is insulting especially since the price is on the higher side anyway! The over all is this...... Even though we went on July 19th, 2026 and there were tornado warnings (wild... I know!) that day, it was busy and yet the staff was nice and the food was excellent! One item was a cheesesteak. Seems simple, right? Well, ordering a meat item with a vegan cheese was waaaay too much for her. Literally couldn't wrap her head around it, we had to explain it like she was from another country. After a few minutes, we threw the complication of putting mushrooms on it. No mushrooms came on the cheesesteak, but tons of unordered peppers and onions. The person who got it in our party took ten minutes to make sure the onions and peppers were off, but even then, the flavor was so peppery and onion-y that you couldn't taste the already small amount of steak. But the kicker was the pizza order. Getting a large pie, we began telling the topping we wanted...only to get like four ingredients into the list to suddenly, rudely, be told they don't do that many toppings, it will ruin the pizza. (Scooby Doo head shaking WHAAA?!) Holy sacrificing your profit margin , Batman! Aren't they in business to sell what the customer wants? Couldn't find a way to maybe put the extra stuff we wanted on the side, then we could put it on later? It's mind boggling that the owners and managers don't put some kind of warning about that...seems like then you'd have a fallback for that occurring...but whotf does that, on any level? I guess the crust crumbles if too many toppings are chosen. The food is good, kinda unique. That said, so is having someone being rude in a service-oriented job. Read the other reviews, this feels to be a common element in people's experiences. Five stars for food, one for the multiple times (three different) I've had this happen here. Three overall seems fair, if not generous.

The smell of this thing had me salivating, the look got me excited, but when I bit into it my heart immediately sank because it was not cooked through. I'm not talking soggy I'm saying raw dough, like major rookie move. It kills me because when I chowed through to the crust, where everything was cooked correctly, it was PERFECT.
