We had the Dark Star Oatmeal Stout with our order of the brie fondue, corned beef reuben, and lamb burger. The brie fondue, to my surprise, was not 100% brie, but rather had a whipped and lighter texture. I thought the amount of bread/pears were enough, and we actually kept it to dip our sandwich/burger in. The presentation was beautiful and it was a great appetizer. The corned beef reuben was so good - the meat fell apart but wasn't fatty, the bread was toasted (one side was a bit too crispy but wasn't burnt which I'm fine with), and the fries were skinny and crispy. I only tried a bite of the lamb burger, but it was juicy and gamey. Yum! Price-wise it's a bit high for pub food, but it was still excellent. Solid beer but the patrons and the staff are stuck up, and full of themselves. The bartender was telling the couple next to me that he works at the best bar in the state, not this bar, but another one, and can make them whatever they want. In general the people there all give you a strange look like you don't belong there which is weird for a roadside dive. Maybe I stumbled into gods gift to this green earth, and I just don't understand how sophisticated everyone here was, but I had a beer here and I had the same beer down the street. Came here for Mother's Day with family and we ordered some appetizers to share, including the kale and quinoa salad, Guinness brown bread, and Reuben rolls. The salad was fresh and the quinoa was toasted so it added a lovely crunch. The bread was served warm and the honey butter was delicious. The Reuben roll didn't quite do it for me but it seemed like a fun concept. For entrees I shared the fabled chicken and fish and chips, both of which were fantastic. The entrees were served hot and the portions were quite large. The chicken had lots going on but all good stuff, especially the jalapeño cornbread. This time we started with the jalapeño cornbread (4.5/5 - this tastes great but is difficult to eat as it falls apart with each bite) and the potato leek soup (5/5 - amazing especially with the tiny little potatoes and bacon lardons). Folks say that you can tell a lot about a person by what some of his favorite dishes are, his go-to regular orders. For me I've always enjoyed a classic bangers and mash. There is profound joy in the simplicity of laying a couple of sausages over mashed potatoes, drizzling some simple gravy, and calling it a day. When it's done right it's hard to beat when you're hungry. Dublin 4 Gastropub gets this right. I enjoyed each bite like a person who had never had had the dish before and was just now awakening to its appeal. The same too with the fish n' chips. That dish like super delicious and I filed it away as a possibility for next time. The service was stellar. The server made sure we were taken care of, our orders came out fast, and we had no issues lingering at lunch. It was the picture of professionalism. [[HIGHLIGHT]]So too was the ambience of the spot. I regret having to take away a star, but I was a bit disappointed after my recent visit. The calamari portion was significantly smaller than what I've had in the past; lots of arugula for filler, it seemed. It was also tough, chewy and pieces were small. It wasn't good. Came in and stopped by after a family photoshoot and I was pleasantly surprised!!!!! While this isn't the first time I've been here... I totally thought I missed the kitchen hours for lunch! But upon arriving a few minutes past 2:30, Phil the bartender was more than happy to run my food order back to the kitchen!!!! Seeing that I was starving I was so happy and thankful! Of course you can't come here and not order the Rubin rolls! They are absolutely delicious!!!! I've been dreaming about them for about a year. And... AND you can't visit this place and not get an Irish coffee! They make their own cream and it just makes the world of difference! The most expensive Irish pub I've ever been! Ironic them beer drinking, green wearing, American stealing cuisines are famous for penny pinching and yet here prices nearly doubled compared to all over similar spots I've visited. And a valet? What's next a dude parking my car at In N Out? We did have a lot to love with a burger and cottage pie. Fresh well balanced flavors, rich meaty proteins, easy to eat and chow down. This spot was such a great find! Usually love this place. But last night at the bar the food was downright awful. My calamari order went to the people who sat down after us instead of us ( bartender totally noticed this and did apologize) and then when mine came, it was so salty I couldn't eat it. My friend ordered mussels and bread ( the bread & honey butter was yummy) - but I tried one of her mussels and it tasted off - by the second one - I gave up and spent the evening in the bathroom with a bum stomach. I ordered a jalapeño Margarita not on the menu that was okay but not nothing to rave about. I give the bartender effort but she only put one tiny slice of jalapeno? should have just stuck to a cider. Excellent. One of the ways, I like to decide if a restaurant is good or great is if when you look at the menu you see multiple items that you would order. Dublin 4 is one of the. On the mains section, I could have had 4-5 of the entrees, same with the starters. I did order the Cottage Pie and it was not only flavorful but pretty darn large. My friend had the bangers and mash. One of my favorites too and I tried a piece of the bangers. It was spot on, on how it should taste. Go there, it is worth it. read more

We were in Dublin this past summer and wanted to reminisce. The Guinness brown bread with whipped honey butter was so good!!! As good as any I remember in Dublin. The charred brussel sprouts were probably the next favorite. The mac & cheese had did not feel too heavy and had a perfect light but distinct truffle flavor. The reuben rolls were decent but overpowered by saltiness. The best entree was hands down the Bucatini. Pasta texture seemed home made. Fish and chips were pretty good. Fish wasn't as light and crispy as Dublin or London but still pretty good. Chicken was good but not as special as the other dishes. Also, I'm not a big fan of hot honey. Liked the cornbread and smoked collard greens. Definitely will be back to try some of the other dishes. read more

Stopped by when we didn't really know what we wanted and were out driving around trying to figure it out. This place has been on my radar for a while now ... ssssooo glad we did. Food and service was 10/10. We didn't have a reservation but were seated right away. Our waitress, Samanatha, could not have been any nicer or more attentive. Food was amazing. Hubs and I split the fish and chips - how they fry food without making it greasy is a real art. It was light and the perfect size to share. We also had their potato pizza; good I wouldn't necessarily order it again; I'd just eat pototoes without the pizza crust. The prickly pear hard cider is now my obsession. And the callebaut chocolate budino was to DIE FOR - very rich, definitely need to split it. This review is for Dublin parking only. We were so glad Dublin 4 Gastropub turned up when trying to search for a fish and chips place. We got there to find out the place is in a strange location right off the 5 Freeway with limited parking in front of the restaurant, with about a dozen spots, all taken. We then drove along that super narrow driveway and went to the back, which has a small lot with about twenty parking spots. After we parked and walking towards the restaurant, a guy came out and stopped us. He asked if we're going to the restaurant in front. We said yes, he proceeded to tell us we were not allowed to park back there, that was for valet parking only. Say what, so where are people supposed to be parking then? We drove back to the front of the restaurant again and it was full. We drove off and left. Weirdest thing we have ever seen. read more

Reservations make being seated easy. Recommend getting there before the dinner rush because parking can be troublesome due to the small parking lot, but they also have valet. The inside is cozy and has a nice ambiance. The servers were really nice, although they took a while to come around each time. All the food we had really tasted great, but the pricing makes this more of a special treat vs somewhere to dine often. read more

Try their Brie fondue. Calamari and sliders were good. Our nice server checked on us a couple times. Food came in a little slower than expected but worth the wait. Drinks are clean and already had water at the table. Factor in time for the valet (1 or 2 people) who stack the parking once the small garage is full. Am I reviewing this place again? Yes. Why? Because it's simply SO good. Went here for a birthday dinner and had a fabulous time. The food was stunning as always, and it was crowded on a Friday night. I tried the truffle mac and cheese for the first time and it was creamy with a hint of truffle, and a delectably crispy crust. The short rib panini was delicious, and the Boursin cheese was heavenly. A tip to ascend to food heaven - some mac and cheese on the short rib. Wow. We didn't order dessert this time as we were stuffed, but another fantastic experience at Dublin. WOW! I was absolutely blown away by the food here. I came in with a friend for her birthday at 5:15 and I kid you not, our food arrived by 5:30PM. Our waitress, Sam, was so nice and was on top of service. We got four dishes and each tried some: the brown bread, the mac and cheese, the sausage roll, and the short rib panini. Brown bread: a little bit more dense that I expected but nonetheless delicious and served with a delectable honey butter. Mac and Cheese: this rivals my favorite mac and cheese of all time. The noodles were a perfect al dente and the white truffle crusty topping wasn't too overpowering -- the perfect amount of truffle. Sausage Roll: One of the most succulent sausages I've ever tasted. Came with super fresh crispy fries and curry ketchup. Panini: absolutely LOADED with short rib and perfectly cooked with a nice and refreshing side salad.
