After growing up in a family owned pizzeria until I was 18, I've developed a serious appreciation for good pizza, and I have to give major kudos to the family at Capo Pazzo Pizzeria in Sarasota. We recently bought a home in the area, and tonight we decided to try Capo Pazzo. From the first look and bite, it felt like home in NJ/NY. The crust was perfectly crisp, the sauce was rich and flavorful, and the toppings were fresh and generous and delicious, no-shortcuts pizza made with pride. Whether you're visiting Sarasota or lucky enough to live here, Capo Pazzo is an absolute must. Great people, great food, and a warm family vibe that reminds me of the pizzeria I grew up in. Another pizza place to hit! This will be put into our regular stops. Small family restaurant with some tables on the inside and it looked like there were some extra ones on the outside. They serve beer and wine along with some coke products. We had the ziti bites which were my wife's favorite, pasta mixed with some cheese and sauce, lightly breaded and topped with ricotta. Sitting on top of their homemade sauce, a good clean sauce with no sugar. The pizza you could tell was made with quality ingredients. The taste was spot on and we will be back to try other items off their menu. This will be a great addition to the area especially if you are on Siesta Key since they are right off the island. read more

Hello, Im a Chicagoan that loves pizza. Arancini is a close second. Capo Pazzo did both well. The pizza crust was light and well cooked. Good flavor. We had sautéed onions, mushroom and pepperoni. Yummy. Very delicious. I wish I had saved room for dessert. The atmosphere was great. Not too many tables so you didnt feel to crowded. The staff was incredible. DO NOT request a refund at this restaurant, or the employees will come outside and take a photo of your license plate!!!!! Wow! All I requested was a REFUND for the extremely dry and hard chicken parm I received. Not sure why everyone made such a big deal over it?! Just refund me the money, and move on. I didn't even want them to remake it. The girl at the register told me, "There's nothing wrong with the chicken; I just had 3 different people try it and this is just how we make it." Okay,great! So just refund me what I paid, and let's go our separate ways. She asked for the side marinara I had ordered, which was still in my car in the white paper bag. I told her I would go back to my car and get it, but I wanted to deal with the refund first. As I left and went back into my car, one of the Venezuelan employees came out and TOOK A PHOTO of my license plate!!!! What is wrong with you people?? What an absolutely awful experience. Went there for the first time last night with my family. Although I'm not from New York, I've spent a lot of time there and love authentic New York style pizza but until now haven't been able to find it in Sarasota. We found it here and now it's our new favorite place! We started with the calamari appetizer, which was cooked to perfection. For the entree, we ordered the large meat-lovers pizza, which was just amazing. My son ordered the tiramisu, which was awesome, as well. Not to mention they charged me for a roni vodka pie instead of a build your own so I paid $6 for prosciutto instead of them just subbing it out or taking the pepperoni off the bill since there was none . The pasta was an insult , we got penne Alfredo with a chicken cutlet , the pasta was overcooked , dry as could be one small dollop of congealed cheese sauce in the middle with the smallest piece of chicken possible ($25 pasta dish that was beyond disgraceful) In total our bill was $70 for a pasta and a pizza(insanity) . today I went to Capo; it wasn't the type of place I was looking for. I was looking more for a nicer atmosphere. We decided to stay and we ordered a half red sauce, pepperoni, and a white pizza half-and-half. I will say that the pizza ingredients were fantastic, the service itself by Chris was fantastic, but the crust on the pizza failed in my opinion; the pizza didn't have enough time to proof because it didn't rise! If this pizza was on point with the dough, it would be an outstanding pizza, outstanding service, and one of the managers asked me what I thought of the food and I told her the truth. I ordered half a dozen garlic nuts and they were an epic failure. again, this was pizza dough, garlic knots that did not rise. She did offer me 10% off, but I declined. I didn't go out to eat for discounts like some people do. I doubt very seriously I'll go here again because of the distance from where I came. But the visual on the Sicilian pie looked phenomenal that somebody else was eating next to me. The manager said it's isolated; since it's my first time there, I'm not gonna argue. Capo Pazzo Pizzeria was absolutely phenomenal. The pizza was outstanding--easily some of the best we've had. It had the right combination of sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, and sausage.
