I wanted to try this place because they have zeppoli's. Unfortunately they are tiny same size as my thumb seriously (picture they had on yelp was way bigger but I didn't get that today) and not the same as they do in NJ/NY bigger than my fist. Instead of chewy they were hard and didn't have any dough left. Tried their meatball sandwich better elsewhere. Didn't try pizza but the table next to me looked like their pizza was burnt...the reviews did not look good so they were probably right. read more

Inconsistent and overpriced, pizza quality declined from what I had a few months ago, I requested extra crisp dough but they failed miserably, the cheese is not quality like I'd expected or experienced from others. I added pepperoni and it's really not worth it, not fresh and way overpriced to my surprise an additional $5, making this average pizza over $30, not worth it and may not return with better options in the area. read more

I have had catered parties in the past and my guests were pleased with the food we ordered. As a fellow New Yorker own expectations are high and Capo has met our standards. Capo Pazzo Pizzeria was absolutely phenomenal. The pizza was outstanding--easily some of the best we've had. It had the right combination of sauce, fresh mozzarella cheese, and sausage. The crust was slightly charred and added to the great taste. We also ordered a cannoli which was very big and delicious. Our waiter was incredibly attentive and made the whole experience even better. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Steve, who went out of his way to stop by our table and welcome us personally. No wonder Capo Pazzo is rated the best pizza in Sarasota -- it's well deserved! read more

Ordinarily, I would return to a place that's 4-stars. In this case, I'm not sure we will. No sense in repeating others' reviews of this great pizza (dough, sauce). It's very good NY style. Prefer pinched or crumbled sausage, but sliced is NY style so they are staying traditional. But the beer---or lack of it. It's all InBev (ie, Anheiser-Busch) products. Today's restaurants should focus on craft beer like the vast majority out there. Have a least a couple of decent IPAs or specialty-style beers. The wine options looked good--but wine is boring to us. DO NOT request a refund at this restaurant, or the employees will come outside and take a photo of your license plate!!!!! Wow! All I requested was a REFUND for the extremely dry and hard chicken parm I received. Not sure why everyone made such a big deal over it?! Just refund me the money, and move on. I didn't even want them to remake it. The girl at the register told me, "There's nothing wrong with the chicken; I just had 3 different people try it and this is just how we make it." Okay,great! So just refund me what I paid, and let's go our separate ways. She asked for the side marinara I had ordered, which was still in my car in the white paper bag. I told her I would go back to my car and get it, but I wanted to deal with the refund first. As I left and went back into my car, one of the Venezuelan employees came out and TOOK A PHOTO of my license plate!!!! What is wrong with you people?? What an absolutely awful experience. The guy that took the photo of my plates pretended not to speak or understand English, SO I STARTED SPEAKING SPANISH TO HIM and he pretended not to understand Spanish either. I've had their pizza (and it is quite good!) but last night I ordered their Capo Supreme Hero sandwich for take-out. Terrific! Meaty with sweet peppers and perfect bread (so much so I could only finish half). I'm looking forward to the other half for lunch today!. Capo's online ordering is easy and gives a countdown on when your food will be ready (although ive had to wait a few minutes longer if they are busy -which they most always are.) Their pick-up counter service is brisk but personable and friendly...and they seem to genuinely appreciate your business. Keep up the great work Capo! I'll be back many more times! read more

Amazing first time here and this coming from a chicago Italian boy. I got to meet the owner gave us an extra NY leftover pie for free so big props. Super friendly. Great undercarriage with solid crust on all. Ordered online with perfect timing ready when we walked into the door. The 12" Nonna meatball was the bomb with perfect blended meat wonderful sautéed onions with the right mix of ingredients. I always order different pies to test any place out. We are happy to find an authentic NY-style pizza, which we have been searching for a long time. The pizza was ready before the promised time, and it was hot and fresh. We ordered a large pepperoni, a large margarita, a deep dish with Mike's hot honey, and a clam pizza. Everyone loved the pepperoni and deep dish. However, beware of the clam pizza. Called to inquire about the garlic knots because they were not listed on the app order menu. The kind guy threw them in for free after I mentioned how everyone raved about them on reviews. We tried the Sicilian M.V.P., the Nonna, Zeppolos 'fried dough" and of course the complimentary Capo Garlic Knots. Yelp friends, let... me... tell... you... the Sicilian M.V.P. All the flavors work very well together so hands down the best pizza I had eaten in a while. The Nonna was my least favorite only because the dollops of ricotta was too much for me BUT my friend had no complaints and thoroughly enjoyed it. My friend wanted pizza while we were visiting Siesta Key. She found this place and they delivered! She was able to communicate with the driver and knew exactly when our order would arrive. We had a cheese pizza, a meatball and ricotta pizza, truffle fries and a gluten free truffle pizza. We all loved everything. The next day we had pizza reheated for dinner and it was, might I say even better the next day. I reheated my GF pizza and fries in a skillet and they reheated theirs in the oven. So good. Must try. Excellent pizza Nona was one we selected. Got large and had enough for lunch next day. Split the Caesar salad which was excellent and plenty to share. Garlic knots a must have. Waitress Emma took great care of us. Pinot Grigio was great and a full pour, unlike many restaurant in SRQ. One star short only because the air conditioning was not fully working but it didnt hamper our ability to enjoy a relaxing and delicious meal.
