Normally this place is awesome- We eat here every time we visit Boone This time around not as good as usual. Although the people at the desk were really nice the pizza was Not done with care- it was All dough- everything was pushed to the middle very little sauce- didn't taste like a deep dish pizza. The side salad was well not worth it. The place was clean and plenty of parking. We will maybe try again next visit.

Local ales, beer & wine.

Boone's old school pizza place, serving up fresh, quality ingredients from there great menu and salad bar. Good lunch specials, local NC beers and wine available. Conveniently located in New Market Center just a couple of blocks from Appalachian State's campus.

Great option for pizza in Boone. Ordered three XL's for a group of eight guys and had plenty of leftovers.

Food tasted amazing, but was a little greasy. Portions were huge. A little bit of an odd aesthetic to be themed around a crime czar, but to each their own!

Deep dish pizza, ricotta base, pepperoni, sausage, and spinach.

Amazing pizza! We find excuses to go to Boone from Gastonia just to get their pizza. Just wish they were open on Mondays.

Greek Salad and a Margherita pizza is in the picture.

The pizza place is awesome, we felt bad they are so short handed. We got a Margherita pizza, the cheese (no need to ask for extra) this pizza is loaded with cheese. The sauce was sweet and tasty, it also has tomato's and basil which added a nice bite to it. The salad we got could have feed 4 people. It was fresh not made yesterday or earlier in the day. Definitely a go to place.

Ordered Capone's on a recent trip to Boone after a long day and it was delicious! Personally I think the small pizza is the perfect size for an adult.

Bathrooms absolutely filthy and unsanitary

Doesn't look like much from the outside but the food here is amazing! The pizza is absolutely phenomenal and so cheesy.

Great pies. You're not going to be disappointed. The thick crust was just awesome, and the sauce tasted like tomatoes not sugar.

Located just off king St with parking around I walked here when I discovered it online while trying to find something new to me. It looks beautiful from the outside, lots of greenery , it's a old house renovated into a restaurant. I came at the tail end of lunch so it wasn't busy, but they do take reservations. I sat on the covered outdoor patio and loved my table. They have a nice cocktail, wine and beer menu. A lunch menu with apps, salads, pasta and focaccia paninis. I got a empress G&T, which was a good classic. Drew my server was so sweet and very handsome! I ordered a focaccia panini , with prosciutto, mozzarella and tomatoes and mushrooms and basil. When he bought it out he said they had just made the bread. They also make their own pasta. Sandwich was delicious and full of yummy ingredients and the bread was very fresh. Also served with a nice green salad. Then I left room for a little dessert. They have a to die for salted Carmel gelato Affogato. You pick your gelato, which Drew said they import from Italy. This was one of the best I've ever had, they give you espresso separate in its own little vessel. Great end to a fabulous lunch. I would come back here anytime I'm in Boone. Would love to try a pasta dish. Great spot and something different from the college crowd places.

Granted I love anything eggplant haha but these fries were crispy on the outside and soft inside; well-seasoned and I loved the garlicky aioli. - Goat Cheese and Pancetta Salad: A close second favorite- it was so tasty (had spring mix, crispy brussels, pancetta, pepitas, goat cheese, fig vinaigrette), had a great combination of sweet/savory, and lots of texture. - Mushroom Marsala: This was the best pasta dish imo. The mushrooms & sauce provided a lot of umami and the pappardelle had good texture. For all the pasta dishes, a bigger piece of bread would have been appreciated to slop up all the delicious sauce haha. - Pasta Rossa: The sauce was tomato-y and creamy, but wish there could have been more/bigger meatballs and that a different pasta than pappardelle was used. - Chicken Alfredo: Honestly, I'm not a big fan of Alfredo at baseline bc it's usually too rich for me but my sister liked it. The fettuccine had nice texture and chicken was cooked well. - Duck Sliders: I probably would not recommend this dish- I think the duck is hard to appreciate in slider format (kinda just tasted like chicken lol). The chips were a bit soggy too. Lots of free parking available. Ambiance is really nice, modern and lots of natural light. Service is friendly and fast. 7.5/10 would recommend!

We chose Bella's Italian Restaurant after seeing positive reviews while traveling with our family…read more Unfortunately, the experience was uncomfortable and not appropriate for families. There was about a 30 minute wait. We briefly stepped out and returned, only to learn our table had been ready but the text notification did not go through due to a phone number error. Not a big issue, we waited patiently with our two children ages 8 and 10. While we were waiting, the hostess went up to a man working the bar wearing a hat to speak to him about our table. She appeared apologetic and uncomfortable. His response and body language came across as irritated and dismissive. While still nearby, we overheard the same man speaking loudly to a bar customer and referring to a woman as "one of those crazy b***** online." It appeared connected to the table involved in the interaction that followed. After we were seated, the same man, who had been working the bar, came into the dining area and approached another table, a group that appeared to be in their 60s to 70s, regarding a receipt or refund issue. Based on his role and how he handled the situation, I initially assumed he was a manager. The discussion became tense. The woman at the table shook her receipt and said something to the effect of listening to him was making her more upset. At that point, he raised his voice and shouted profanity, telling her to "get the f*** out of my restaurant." As he walked away, he turned back and began shouting again, saying additional things about his integrity and honesty, then again told her to "get the f*** out" before storming into the kitchen. This occurred in the middle of the dining room with children present, including our own and another nearby table with young girls. From the back of the restaurant, loud banging could be heard, and it appeared he struck a wall or object while shouting additional profanity. The table he addressed appeared shaken and quietly left without further argument. The entire restaurant went silent. The servers themselves were professional and kind throughout the evening, but the outburst clearly affected the atmosphere for everyone. Overall, the food was about a 7 out of 10. The lasagna was good. Other dishes were mixed. The spaghetti marinara was very bitter and unbalanced, the shrimp scampi was heavy, and the amount of butter served with the rolls was excessive. Later, I was told by staff that the man involved is the owner's son. Later that night, my son told me that as he and the same man reached the single occupancy restroom door at the same time, the man told him to go first, but did so in a sharp and impatient manner that came across as aggressive. After witnessing repeated profanity and outbursts earlier in the evening, having my child spoken to in that manner by the same individual was completely unacceptable. Regardless of internal issues, repeated profanity, raised voices, and aggressive behavior toward guests, especially with children present, is not appropriate in a restaurant setting. We will not return and would caution families before dining here.

The store is nicely arranged, shelves stay neat and well-stocked, and they offer so many products that you don't see anywhere else. I always check out the fresh baked goods, specialty canned coffees (for the car ride home!), snacks, yogurts, fresh pasta, and the clearance shelves in the back of the store. Staff is pleasant and knowledgeable. Most items are priced at a premium but, they are premium products, There are often good sales and a lot of items are fairly reasonable. The ladies' room could usually use a little attention and/or something in it is often broken, but I appreciate the fact that they have public restrooms available. During the pandemic when we could not enter our App student's dorm and many restaurants were closed, I'm not sure where else we might have been able to visit after driving up the mountain, and to me that is more important!!
