Its a freaking LONG drive!! But I called Longhorn and told them about my concerns and their pricing was much better than U-Haul or Penske or even one way trips from Vegas to Austin. I have to say they did great with customer service in every way...I told them I had one hell of a trip coming up with 20hrs there and back and over 40hrs driving and here's what I rented and what they did to the truck before I rented it to make sure by trip was safe and without problems. - 15 ft, 2019 Box Truck with only 40,000 miles - New front tires - New brakes - Oil change - Diesel fuel and diesel exhaust fuels both full And they gave me their repair tech's cell number to call anytime on the road in case of problems or concerns. Seriously I got treated very well and I just finished my grueling three day drive and dropped the truck off. Also went through a snow storm in AZ around Flagstaff and this truck handled just fine thanks to the new front tires they put on for me. The miles I paid were 15 cents a miles compared to way over 70-90 cents a mile charged by U-Haul or Penske and the rental was very affordable and also my Geico Insurance covered the truck no problem at no extra charge. This is my 5 STAR review for Longhorn Rentals since I have read so many bad reviews on here and I had a really quality experience renting from them! My advice, make sure you know that the truck you are renting has good tires, oil change, good care and give Longhorn a try since they are priced way better than other truck rentals and their customer service rocked!

Booked City Move LLC through U-haul and this is what happened. The movers left in the middle of the job! Not only did they decide they were done and had to leave before unloading the truck, they only took 4 items out and left them on the street!!!!! I was shocked they left them on the street to be stolen! How could they not take the time to at least put those 4 items into my apartment or back into the truck? My coffee table and plant were stolen because of this. The other items I had to drag in myself. Meanwhile the movers PROMISED they would come back. They never came back! Not only that but they said they would call me to let me know what time they would come over to finish the job, but they ghosted me! Never called me and are not returning my calls or replying to my texts or emails! Because of all of this I have to sleep on the floor of an empty apartment tonight since everything is still in the Uhaul! I have to rent the U-Haul for a second day, take off MORE time from work to deal with and find and pay for new movers tomorrow?! This is outrageous. I am so completely furious at this horrendous service. I need to be refunded the total amount to make up for the stolen items, the extra time and aggravation and the fact that now I have to hire new movers to do the job they did not do! However U-Haul says not their fault and the company just ignores all emails and phone calls! Horrible.

The positives: -Unlimited Mileage and you just pay for one small fee (unless you don't want any additional add-ons. -The truck had a full tank of gas and I returned it with a full tank as a courtesy for the next person. -They had the option to keep the truck for three days and not just two which Uhaul had a big issue with. It's just not possible to return the truck within two days if I am moving from city to city since the city I moved to was 3 hours away from Austin. On the other hand, Penske provided the option to return the truck in the new city and not Austin. However, Uhaul had a problem with this and wanted me to return the truck in Austin by the second day. That sounds very stressful!! -The truck was very clean and spacious. I ended up getting the 12'Truck which allowed me to move out of a 698 sqft apartment. Negative: -There was only one worker at this location and he appeared to be burned out with his work. He was tired and did not speak much. He was a shell of a human. I say that Home Depot needs to make sure that there are more than one worker in the area so that he has someone else helping him out. However, when I returned it to the location in the newer city, the workers were much more lively and provided conversation. However, the truck was ready and he even drove the truck closer to the store so that it would be easy to access. I highly recommend Penske with your moving needs!

But when I'm in town & need a rental, I'll use Priceless, because it's all about cost. The fact I'm even screwing around with a local rental means I'll be in a less than amicable mood, and Priceless has always come through. And it's always been some 2017 varietal of a Chevy Cruze. I know they have bigger cars & even Jeeps, but I'm okay with Cruze, because I'm paying exactly $38.72 a day for it. And when I've rented it by the week, it's been exactly $203.73. Discount? Cool. You can use either credit or debit cards, they're not there Sundays, and if you need extra rental time, call them. One quirky thing - the first time I used Priceless, I reserved & paid with my debit card, and they put a $150 hold on my credit card. They said on their website they would do this, and the hold was reversed after I returned the car. But since that first time, I still make resos & payments with my debit card, and they've done nothing with my credit card. I don't know what that means. Maybe they like me now. I do know when I need a car rental in Austin, I already like them.

I needed to add another driver onto my rental agreement so popped into this Avis location to get this done. The reviews were not mistaken, as the lady that helped us provided great customer service. Unfortunately she was not able to add the second driver for just two out of the six days that I requested, and I had to pay an additional $65 to have an additional driver for the duration of the rental (other places will do this free of charge), but this is more of a corporate thing and not due to lack of service by the rep. We were in and out within 5 minutes - she made everything very easy and convenient.

I just had the worst customer service experience I've ever had with Budget/Avis…read more I reserved a gas vehicle for 12:00 PM on August 6th. When I arrived at the Budget location, there was a sign directing all customers to Avis. I went over there only to find a line about 27 people deep and waited 40 minutes just to reach the counter. When it was finally my turn, the employee looked up my reservation and told me there were no gas vehicles available--only EVs. I explained that I was driving to a remote area where charging infrastructure isn't reliable, so an EV wasn't an option. He then told me I'd have to go on a 2-hour waitlist for a gas vehicle, and even then there was no guarantee I'd get one. I reminded him that I had a reservation for a gas car at noon. His response? "The reservation is for the time, not the car." That completely defeats the purpose of making a reservation. I explained that I had an event to get to and was understandably frustrated. A supervisor came over, and after I explained everything, his response was, "What do you want me to do about it, cry or be sad for you?" I've never been spoken to like that by someone in customer service. It was incredibly unprofessional and showed a complete lack of respect for customers. They offered no solution other than waiting two hours for a vehicle that wasn't even guaranteed to be available. I told them to cancel my reservation. The employee said he did, but I had a feeling he hadn't. I called Budget customer service afterward, and sure enough, the reservation was still active--they had to cancel it over the phone. Thankfully, I opened Turo, found a vehicle immediately, and was on the road within minutes. Reservations should mean something. Stop overbooking vehicles and start treating customers with respect. This experience was unacceptable. Turo for the win.
