Service/accuracy has gotten really bad, sorry to say. Been coming for 25+ years & this was never an issue. Ordered a meatball sandwich, chilies on the side. No marinara was included with it which made one helluva dry sandwich & no chilies. Today, ordered a cold cut combo, light mayo & mustard. Attempted the chilies again. Got a ton of Mayo/mustard on it, so much that the meat was sliding around I could barely eat it. Again, no chilies! On top of everything they've gotten crazy expensive & their prices on their website don't reflect true prices. I mentioned this to them when I had to call to clarify check total. This is our third visit to the Capri Deli, it won't be our last. Having relocated to the area after we lost our home in the Eaton Fire we are still getting acclimated to the area. The Capri Deli has very good food, nothing fancy but very tasty. That combined with friendly efficient service it is definitely on our go to list. This looked like a place that does a good pastrami sandwich so I had to order it. I love their dill pickles. They also offer kosher. I ordered two pickles on the side. I loved their offerings of sides & selection of beverages. I ordered the marinated artichoke & 2 pickles. Sandwiches were delicious & low-fat salad with house sauce is excellent. They don't make 'fast food' places like this anymore. You still get your food quickly but maybe not as convenient as modern fast food spots. There is no drive thru and I think it's better this way. You get to stand in line and consider the menu and hear what other people are ordering which is a good thing in my opinion. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. The portions are generous (especially the lasagna) at a reasonable price. While everyone else is raising their prices to the sky, Capri Deli is still affordable. The meatball sandwich was what I ordered along with a bag of chips and root beer from the tap. I loved everything I ordered. Bring your appetite and preferably don't be in a rush as parking can get interesting. My recommendation for a first time order is the meatball sandwich on garlic bread with a root beer. read more

I asked for a manager, they pointed out to a young lady that kinda had a don't give a shit attitude, and we were told by another employee that walk-in customers take priority not their own business, which was kind of shocking to hear considering if phone orders were not important. They shouldn't have a phone so anyhow, I will not be returning to Capri Deli with that kind of attitude and it's kind of funny. Old school, established family-owned Italian delicatessen in an area of LA County overrun with franchises and fast food chains lacking culinary individuality or excellence. This place is definitely one of the exceptions. The only way you'd know about it is from locals, otherwise it's quite non-descriptive and modest looking from the outside. But open the door and the atmosphere and staff is as good as it gets. They have a great selection of Italian salads and cookies amongst other sides and dishes. They also have a little area selling goods imported from Italy. This spot is amazing! Sandwich's are delicious. The bread is so fresh, so soft, and makes the sandwich's soooo much better. We LOVE the Boston Cream Pie slices and my sons LOVE the chocolate and strawberry milk they sell. They can get busy but they are quick to get the orders out. Make sure you ask for a receipt. I politely asked for mine after it was not automatically given to me. I had purchased a lot and wanted to make sure I was charged correctly. Turns out I was overcharged $16 and was not given my side for my special. They quickly fixed it and I went on my way. Pretty disappointing though. My favorites here are the meatball and corned beef sandwiches. I also enjoyed the pastrami. The corned beef says in the written description that it comes on rye...yet they put mine on white bread. I am a huge fan! I am very impressed with the outstanding service Capri Deli staff displays. I ordered and paid for the Colossus sandwich for our wrestling team as they had a wrestling event. The event was cancelled due to the recent fires. Nathan answered the phone and I asked him to cancel the order. He told me that the sandwich was already made. He was very polite and understanding. He spoke to the owner and explained the situation. The owner cancelled the order and refunded my money. Wow! What an amazing gesture. I really appreciate how Capri Deli handled this situation and wanted to make sure to write a good review to promote this wonderful restaurant. If you haven't eaten here and you live ANYWHERE in SoCal you are missing out on an amazing meal!! I've been going for over 10 years, the hubby has been coming for about 30 years. Sandwiches, pizza, Italian dinners, take home pizza dough, frozen lasagna, deli meats, cookies.... They have it all! And it's all amazing!!! They also have a very LARGE selection of canned sodas and beers. My go to is the cold cut sandwich and the hubby's is turkey, roast beef. We never share cause they are too good. If we plan ahead, we will bring a cooler so we can take home some of their refrigerator/frozen goodies too, usually a lasagna & some pasta salads. If you come during lunch time any day of the week, expect to wait anywhere from 10-20 min to place your order. Capri has history as they have been around serving this area for decades now, it's obvious when walking in. There is an area to order food and an area to sit down to eat restaurant style. CD had an east coast feel as when you walk into the deli area --it was chaotic with ordering but no one was skipped ( if that makes sense) - I wasn't sure where to go but some friendly customers helped me out. Staff was very helpful as well. I was told to try the Pastrami, and if you have read some of my older reviews I have had some epic experiences when it comes to Pastrami, so I'm admittedly picky. I got this brontosaurus sized sandwich with what must have been almost a pound of meat on a hoagie with mustard and pickles- the pastrami appeared to be steamed ( that's ok) but since I took it go when I got home the pastrami made the bread super soggy due to the massive portion. There wasn't enough mustard or pickles so while I appreciated the portion size it actually took away from the sandwich. The sandwich was solid, but I don't think this is the best sandwich that CD offers. In retrospect I should've tried out an Italian style sandwich, which I plan to do ASAP! I'm looking forward to returning and reviewing a different sandwich. :) read more
