We have been loyal customers forever his last 4 restaurants (lemont, 2 in Woodridge and 1 in boca). The owner (Joey) has a history of shutting down restaurants and restarting in a new location. Our group had a large amount of gift cards from his last "failed attempt" at a successful restaurant. We were told at the newest location that he would accept our gift cards from the last location. When we attempted to use the gift cards he said it was only a joke. The manager then came back and said he would only do $100. We lost over $300 and it was with such poor attitude from Joey and his manager. Shockingly bad way to treat repeat customers. read more

Just to clarify ~ yes, this is one of the GOOD family-owned and managed Capri restaurants. Someone had to tell us it was here because it is on the first floor of a condominium complex. I know it is relatively new, so for now, there is no sign to tell you where to find it. The menu is not as extensive as what you have experienced in the past, but it is expanding. The restaurant has a contemporary feel. It is hard to explain the layout. When you enter, the host/hostess stand is right there. To your right there are 5 tables. They are subject to weather conditions when the door opens, so just a little heads up. To your left is the bar area with about 3 hightop tables and then there is another section kind of around the corner with 7 tables. The food, of course, is delicious. Servings are generous, so be prepared for left-overs. Service is wonderful. We wish them success in this new location. read more

The fresh seafood, pork chops and steak that I have had here are delicious! My favorite are the soft shell crab, king crab, scallop, shrimp and fresh fish especially the fresh homemade pasta to go with. Most of all, I love being able to order whatever combination of veggies, sauces and pasta I like, creating my own dish every time I come here. Sauces and flavors are spot on! Joey, the owner, always makes us feel like family and love his creative ideas when it comes to creating new and refreshing items for the menu. This was the best dinner out I've had in a very long time! The server was knowledgeable, kind, and checked up on us just the right amount of times. We had the fried gnocchi appetizer, which was delicious. The gnocchi were light, had the perfect amount of cheese stuffed inside, and the vodka sauce was great. My sister got an entree portion of the eggplant rollatini, and I ordered one of the specials which was fried cod with spinach in a lemon wine sauce. Both were exceptional. Dessert was a Limoncello cake, which was also amazing! I will definitely be back, I can't recommend enough! read more

Good news - food is good. Bad news - considering the following I couldn't enjoy it. Had 6:00 reservation but after being told twice 5-10 minutes more to clear table wasn't for 30 minutes til seated. Meanwhile plenty of other parties came in, got hugged, and then seated. No one left the area from where we were eventually seated so not sure why we didn't get seated but guess they might have been holding it for someone more special. Next it seems between our drinks and ordering that our waiter forgot us. Took another 45 minutes to order. Got our meals and the whole experience turned out to be 2 hours and 15 minutes. The owner and waiter wanted to be very jokey about it and blow off that we shouldn't be in a hurry without truly addressing the issue. Seems like this place is geared towards regulars only and that seems fine with them. Won't be going back ever. read more

I have visited a few of the other Capri locations and have never had any issues. We ordered 5 hot teas and the water was only filled up half way for one cup and a little over half for another, it took ten minutes to ask another employee if they could please bring us out more hot water. After our meal we decided to have cappuccino. two were warm and one was cold. We didn't see the waitress for at least another ten minutes so we again asked another employee who came to clean the table. He said he would bring another. He never did but on top of that when we did finally see the waitress and wanted to let her know she got upset with us. She told us that we should not have waited to drink it. We explained to her that we didn't drink it at all. She then said because she made them at the same time she knows it wasn't cold. When my daughter told her I have a machine at home and make it all the time I know it should be hot. She told me daughter then she should go make it at home. We asked to speak to her supervisor which she was not happy about she went over there happy about it and although the supervisor who was apologetic came over to talk to us the waitress was still in pleasant. We were there trying to have a nice dinner after a family wake and could not have been treated more poorly. coming from a family that has a restaurant a hair salon I know we don't treat or speak to customers that way. We paid a decent price for the food and expect good service as well as to be respected as we were being respectful. Just because help is hard to come by in the industry doesn't mean that should be tolerated. You definitely lost our business and our families as well. read more

LOVE IT!!! We haven't had a bad meal yet. The Homemade Rigatoni in vodka sauce was the best I have ever had. We also loved the Stuffed Gnocchi, Grilled Misto, the Big Joe was fun for the kids and Chicken Alfredo Flat Bread was excellent. The environment is warm and inviting and the servers and owners are so personable and accommodating. I was also at a Christmas party that catered from here and that was just as good. I was out for dinner with my wife and sister in law tonight. They had the octopus and I had the lasagna. The portions were good but they must have warmed the lasagna in a microwave as the outer edges were hot the center was very cold. When I told the waiter and the owner of the problem they compensated with a piece of cheese cake. When I asked them to remove the $17.95 from the bill,the owner refused and said that I ate almost the whole meal which was not the case. I asked him to remove the $17.95 again from the bill and his response was no. Stating not to come back again! No worries, I will never go back to that POS establishment and will tell everyone I know in the neighborhood of the horrible owner and his poor attitude . read more

Very disappointed. Appetizers were cold-told server she didn't care. Took a long time to get our drinks took a long time to get our food. I do have to say the food was very good. Took a long time to get Our dessert. The bananas Foster was $16 and all we got was a half a banana and melted ice cream. Then the end-all was the 20% gratuity added to the check when there was only six of us so the server really didn't have to go above and beyond for her tip. Which was $60. Being an ex server myself that really irks me. So the bottom line was the food was good but the service was horrible so definitely would not go back. read more

Returned after a horrible first experience to give this place another try. Owner still insulting, food was served just warm, and bill was over $10.00 more than when charged on the credit card. The person who paid with her credit card was told there was a 3% charge for credit card use, when in fact it was an additional percentage. The owner came to the table and informed us to go elsewhere if we didn't like the charge or pay cash in a rude like manner. Probably will not be returning to this establishment that is over priced, has a rude owner, along with his daughter, and doesn't even know that his register charges more than 3% to its customers. It was not the fact that there was a charge for Credit Card use, but the fact she was being told it was only 3%, when in fact it was more, and the owner telling us, his customers to go elsewhere. I will go elsewhere where my business is appreciated and the owners is respectful. read more

My coworkers and I have had several post-work dinners at Capri Lounge this year, and we are very pleased with every aspect of the experience. Joe, the owner, has been an excellent, accommodating host to our very large group. With one phone call, he takes care of everything. I don't have to wait on hold for a banquet manager, or book an extra room with a special menu. Once there, they made sure we had plenty of servers, making every aspect of the service fast and attentive (no one had to wait for drink refills). We did not feel rushed, they let us spend as long as we wanted with drinks and appetizers (and lots really good fresh bread) while we talked shop and waited for the last stragglers to arrive. The entrees were very good, especially the seafood dishes, and everyone that had dessert was pleased. The consensus from my coworkers is that we should return to Capri for work dinners, and that it is also a good "date" place. I agree and plan on returning for lunch and/or dinner. read more
