Camarofongo - Mashed Green Plantain with pork and shrimp in tomato cream sauce.
    Mike L.

Terra Luna is a Latin/Caribbean American Restaurant in Providence around Federal Hill My wife and I were in town for a graduation at Brown University, graduation time tends to be busier than usual. On a Friday night, a friend who is a local recommended this place and we were able to get a table pretty quickly without a reservation. This place is in the Federal Hill area which on Friday night had a lot of bar and restaurant activity. Parking near the place seemed a little challenging, we ended up parking down the street a couple blocks at the Walgreens Parking Lot, there are no outside parking signs but my friend says they don't check. Their cocktails are pretty strong so you get your money's worth there. We ordered a bunch of bar food (nachos, chicken wings, etc) which was pretty good. The highlight was the Camarofongo which is a traditional Caribbean dish with mashed taro, and my friend ordered it with shrimp. It was good, but we couldn't finish it all. The place has a nice decor, TVs for watching sports, and the staff were pretty responsive

My first time going to Terra Luna on Federal Hill. My daughter brought me here for my birthday lunch. She said it's a Dominican restaurant. The lunch special ate reasonable with different options, they also have a good $5 special drink menu. The appetizers were really good as was the Margarita. My lunch special was ok the fish seemed like it came from a supermarket and not a fish import. It was pretty flat. They do have hookah if your into that. They play music and gave and inside and in the summer outside seating. We did sit in a covered outside area which was cool but the plastic going around us could use some cleaning, you couldn't see outside much and the mold settling in between the plastic is not appealing. They also have some construction going on so you have to be careful going into the restaurant, the inside in nicely done, the bathroom could use some redoing and maybe build an additional bathroom as one is not enough. They also have a bar section. Prices are reasonable

I've been here a couple of times. Enjoyed the food. Service was on the slow end, and it took a while for the food to come out. It gets busy here and the atmosphere is upbeat.

    chicken MIJOS TACOS

came here on a Sunday expected it to be busy because the weather was nice. The hostess was kind of rude. We sat for 10 minutes before somebody even came over to give us water and acknowledge us inside. Only had two other tables. I wish I would've read the description of the tacos. I ordered, but was not expecting a slice of ham a slice of American cheese and no vegetables on the chicken tacos. The food was trash.

Got you! Here's a long, detailed review that's still social-media-ready, with energy and punch: "Terra Luna is absolutely out of this world! I've had mofongo before, but nothing compares to this--the flavors are bold, perfectly balanced, and downright addictive. The service is incredible too, warm, friendly, and attentive, making the whole meal feel special from start to finish. And don't even get me started on the rest of the menu--Latin food at its absolute best, with each dish more delicious than the last. Honestly, this place isn't just good, it's a 10/5 experience. If you love unforgettable flavors, amazing vibes, and top-notch service, you have to check out Terra Luna!

Came here on july 3rd which was a Monday, but right before the holiday. They were very short staffed. We got to sit right away, because we saw some friends and asked if we could sit at the table right next to them. It then took about 20mins to be acknowledged and to order. We flagged down one guy who said he was just the hookah guy & walked away. I will say, once we met our server she was very nice, and was definitely overwhelmed with the number of tables she had, so we tried to be understanding. As for the food, the patacones were really good! The drink was delicious as well. The flan was ok, it was a bit watery & not as set as I would have liked it. If you're not in a rush, it's a good place to go!

Absolutely had a time here for 4th of July Brunch. Drinks were fantastic (so many flavors for the margs!). Food was great! Vibes were greater!

The decor and ambiance were fantastic, creating a great atmosphere to relax and enjoy. They offer a wide selection on their menu, including enticing drink and lunch specials, and also have hookah available. While the service was a bit slow, I recommend asking for a printed check to carefully review it, as gratuity is automatically included. Overall, it was a solid experience with lots of options to choose from!

I was visiting my cousin in cranston for her birthday weekend and after seeing Terra Luna on instagram we had to go! When we entered we were greeted by a very friendly hostess! we had an option to sit inside or the enclosed patio, but we chose the enclosed patio because it was cute brunch vibe. The waitress was very nice, patient & even gave us helpful suggestions.now the food was amazing! A lot of places that advertise brunch/boozy brunch the food isn't always great. The yucca fries are a must try,the skirt steak cooked to perfection & the mash potato's were great! I even took an order of yucca fries to go.Highly recommend Terra Luna!

    CHILLO A LO MACHO

Came to Rhode Island to visit my friend for the 4th of July. Really was craving seafood and this place came up. We were glad that they were open due to so many other restaurants being closed for the holiday. First, the customer service was great! Our server was so sweet and attentive. We sat outside and that was nice as well. Very comfortable and cute. I ended up having 3 drinks: the dominican kiss, and both a white and red sangria. All of them were delicious, but I liked the white sangria the most. I ended up ordering the chillo a lo macho. Soo delicious!! It was a bit hard to figure out the best way to eat it (lol) but the flavor was delicious. I would definitely come back here if I'm able to go to visit Providence again.

churrasco a la brasa, coconut shrimp, and beef empanadas

I visited Terra Luna last month for a late night dinner. They close at 1, but the kitchen closes at around 12:30 AM. There is an extensive menu - I wasn't sure of what to order. We started off with drinks - which I am pretty sure were watered down, but still good. My party and I ordered the churrasco steak, paella, coconut shrimp, and beef empanadas. The appetizers weren't worth it, but the entrees were filling! I loved the churrasco sauce paired with the steak and rice; definitely shareable with 2-3 other people. The paella was also delicious, we had to take it home for leftovers. They have hookah - but it is not on the menu. You have to ask for it. They do have several flavors to choose from. Maybe not the most kid-friendly environment, but definitely a vibe for a night out with friends on the Hill or a date night. Service was fine and parking is in front of the restaurant, but you will have to pay. I think I'd definitely come back, but be more aware of what to order next time beforehand.

Good, but hidden fee in bill.
    Tara B.

Buyer Beware! The empanadas were good. However, after our dinner, when we received the check, there was 15% service fee included that I overlooked. I absolutely understand that 's was my fault, but then I tipped on top of that. So essentially I left a 40% tip. It is listed on their website, however , usually I see a percentage added to a party of six or more. Not for two. So be aware that there is a 15% service fee for parties under six and usually if you're not paying attention, you will end up double tipping. Frustrating

Great restaurant located in Depasquale Square. My second time visiting with a group of close friends within the past 8 months and the food has been consistent.

The first time I came, it was a rainy weekday and this time it was a sunny weekend, so I was expecting an even larger crowd; and my prediction was correct. The line was just out the door but because of their awesome staff, the line was moving very quickly. While we waited in line, we could watch them making pastries through the glass, a couple feet in front of us. I admired that level of transparency. When we were third in line, the kindest lady asked us whether we'd be eating in or taking out and she took down our name to help us find a table when it came time. She did the same for the rest of the people in line. She also gave us some recommendations, including the cinnamon bun - apparently they're so good kids cry when they sell out. I didn't intend to order anything with my drink, but I couldn't get the cinnamon bun out of my head so I ordered it along with my iced spiced chai latte. The hen (I think it's their logo) on the aprons of the employees are super cute. We did secure a table. The tables are close together to maximize the number of people who can sit down but I didn't mind. I love their art all around, mostly of birds which I am obsessed with. I love that they have a lot of natural lighting coming through their tall windows. I also like the navy blue and white theme they have going on. The chai latte was perfect. It was the right color (a dark tan), meaning the ratio of tea and milk was good and I could taste a lot of the spices. The cinnamon bun blew my expectations away. The second my teeth made. contact with the icing, it was a magical feeling. I couldn't quite put my finger on what it tasted like, but the closest I got was dulce de leche. It is truly unlike any other cinnamon bun I have ever had. The dough is soft and there is a good amount of cinnamon. It's also $4 which is not bad. I had a bite of their canelé, which apparently requires a lot of work to make. It was very moist, with a great caramelized finish. I am super excited to try their new weekend dinner menu, but also more of their all day menu items.

Food is fast casual style (order at the counter, get a card - here all were west side street signs, not the usual numbered placards, food will be delivered to your table. I had the avocado shakshuka, my husband had the lox omelet (see the photo). Despite the large menu of fancy coffee options, we each had a basic iced. It was served in a glass, which was a nice touch. Self serve milk was at a station in the dining room area. Coffee was good, cold but I would have traded some coffee for a bit more ice to stay that way as I drank it slowly. Both of us were surprised when our meals were delivered: the plates were beaut! In particular his omelet was absolutely gorgeous! Now for the flavors: the omelet had a generous helping of perfect cooked eggs (not sitting in a pile of grease, as restaurant omelets frequently are). It was so fluffy that we both thought "that's way more than the advertised 3 eggs," and the lox was thickly layered whole slices nestled inside the fold. Most places chop the lox like vegetables, add it to the eggs, & make it like a veggie omelet - meh. This iteration was perfect; the lox tasted like smoked salty fish, losing none of that flavor to the omelet itself. The potatoes? Fabulous! Great spice mix, cooked until they were crispy. That was a tasty bit of marble rye toast too. My shakshuka was very good, but a bit less successful. The elements were all excellent; the avocado was actually guacamole since it was mashed & there were tomatoes and spices in the dish. The combination worked, except for the bread element. The dish as presented was really more of an avocado toast with shakshuka on top. It might have been more successful to add the avocado/guacamole as a unique base on the plate, with the tomato sauce and eggs on top with toast on the side (as is the way shakshuka is traditionally served) because halfway through the bread got really soggy & less appetizing. Still, the first few bites, while everything was still warm? So good!
