Stopped by this shop while on a road trip in September and was pleasantly surprised by their chicken cheesesteak. It was juicy, Flavorful, and all things good. I didn't expect much because I often experience chicken cheesesteaks that are dry or they don't season the meat. So happy that wasn't an issue here! Originally I was going to try a turkey sub but they were out of it and it was only noon? So- I ordered the tuna and added hot peppers, sweet peppers and pickles and it was quite good. The service was slooooow, - can't seem to keep up with the demand - cashier was taking orders, making sandwiches and delivering to waiting customers). my friend took my daughter there with her daughter 6/7/26. Apparently it was close to closing and they were not pleased. They were upset that she used the water from the soda machine and used the bathroom. When they left, my daughter saw there were spiders in her sandwich. So messed up. My friend took the sandwich back in and they wouldn't even refund her. Who ever put spiders in that sandwich should be fired immediately. What a piece of trash. This is a small town/ college town, Chestertown, sub, pizza, pasta small Resturant. We orders to go 2 Italian subs & a meatball parm sub. Save your money and make a PB& J. This was the most disappointing, tasteless, and expensive sandwich of my life. A small and a medium Turkey sub with 4 small bags of chips (because they don't sell large bags) and a ketchup sized side of coleslaw was a total of $38 we left 20% tip). Totaling $45+ for two sandwiches and four small chips. The expense was surprising, but we didn't mind if the food was good. It was tasteless. We will never ever eat at Capriotti's again. read more

I'm a huge fan of Capriotti's! The sandwich shop has locations all over the States, originating from Wilmington, DE - they offer a variety of sandwiches, such as their specialties, subs, cold/hot sandwiches (grilled Italian, Italian sausage, cheese steak, roast beef, tuna, ham & cheese, etc.), vegetarian options, and salads. While in the area, I had to make sure to stop by and get The Bobble and the Cheese Steak! The Bobbie is their best seller, which has homemade turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayo - a Thanksgiving meal that you can get anytime, without waiting for the actual holiday! This sandwich is usually served cold, and I have always specially requested to have it all toasted; now, they offer both versions! The cranberry sauce is sweet, the shredded turkey is fresh, and I really like their cornbread stuffing! For the Cheese Steak, I just opt for the fried onions and extra mayo - the meat is well-seasoned, and the sandwich is not overly greasy at all - it has a great mayo/meat/melty-cheesiness to it. One thing that I love about Capriotti's is that the sandwich is monstrous and it is always super generously packed with the fillings - you can easily have the small as 2 meals - definitely a shareable sandwich (not that you would want to, as they are so tasty!)! After trying and enjoying other Capriotti's locations, this was a disappointment from start to finish. When we arrived, there wasn't a line, which was great. The employee taking our order was pleasant enough. We ordered our food then went to find a table. We stepped around the muddy footprints that were all through the restaurant, figuring that maybe they had finished a rush and would get to it. On our way to get our drinks we stepped over the spilled French fries on the floor and ignored the stickiness of the floor around the soda fountain. We proceeded to get our drinks, changing our selection when the fountain started sputtering on us because they were out of syrup. We sat down and started to wait for our sandwiches. After 15 minutes and no real foot traffic coming into the restaurant, we started to get annoyed that it was taking so long for standard orders. After 20 minutes we checked on our order and it still wasn't done. 25 minutes later we got half of our food. 30 minutes later we went to ask for the rest, where we found out that they hadn't started three of the sandwiches because they didn't remember that we'd ordered them. Finally after about 40 minutes we had our food. The sandwiches were dry, particularly the Italian subs that had no condiments/oil/vinegar. My family spent almost $100 for a waste of time and mediocre food. And by the time we left almost an hour after we ordered, the floor was still untouched and covered in dirt and spilled food. The rolls were fresh and good. The portions are generous. They charge theme park prices ($3.49 to add chips and a fountain drink is not competitively priced), but the sandwiches were awesome. A cup of soup is $4.99. If you work or live nearby one of the locations, you can download an app to earn points and food items. The employees were nice. The bag in which my sandwiches were handed to me was emblazoned, "Voted America's Best Sandwich". All I can say is that I emphatically demand a recount. The cheesesteak was ok, but really skimpy on the filling. The Italian sub, though, was an insult to sandwiches from any country. A good sandwich starts with good bread. Ours came on a stale, somewhat tasteless roll. The filling was also skimpy, except for a mountain of iceberg lettuce that I'm guessing is used to make the sandwich look big. Small sub shop off of route 50. We hit up the joint on the way to the beach. Worth the detour - we had two great sandwiches - Tom with the pastrami - I had the waygu. Delicious. I ordered them online and picked them up - but had to wait a few extra minutes as they weren't ready. Be available to wait for these sandwiches and they do take a while to make - but I would definitely say they are worth it. I wanted to try the Bobbie - which so many people have raved about - but they were out of turkey. So I guess I'll have to head back to the beach next weekend so I can hit up the sub shop on the way! read more

This place is great! They have a full range of sandwiches and a great variety. We had the Wagyu sandwich with coleslaw. The combo was perfect. They have a good selection of sides for the combo--including coleslaw and a variety of chips. The sandwich was so large that we were able to share it, and it was a full meal for two people. I left a bad review for this Chester location about 5 years ago due to unsanitary restroom conditions. We love Capriotti's in DE and returned to this location today while passing through during a road trip. Restroom condition is much improved this time, but our meal was a huge disappointment. First, we waited a long time for our order, only to discover that the order taker had left without passing our order to the kitchen. And then when we finally got our order, our rolls were quite cold and pale/undercooked. The turkey on my Bobbie was very dry and more like shreaded bits rather than fresh chunks of turkey. My husband's cheesesteak should have been called a "pickle" sub because there was very little steak and about 20 slices of pickles in an 8" sub. We routinely buy a few large subs to take home to Northern Virginia, but not today. read more

Ordered subs for dinner from the Kent Island store and used Capriotti's website to order. When my wife went into pay she discovered a charge of over $8. It was 24% of the bill. When she called to complain about the charge she was told it was because she used google pay to order. Both the store manager and the corporate office wouldn't remove the charge. Nowhere on the receipt, the website stated anything about the charge. Won't ever go back. read more
